Abstract

This research aims at discovering: (1) the students’ learning motivation taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model, (2) the students’ critical thinking ability taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model, (3) the students’ learning result taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model, (4) the differences of learning motivation, critical thinking ability, and students’ learning result taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model. This research is a quasi experiment. The population is all grade VIII students in the first semester of SMPN 5 Bulukumba of academic year 2015/2016. The sampling technique used is random sampling technique by choosing two out of six classes. The taken classes for this research are grade VIII1 which is taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model with the total of 24 students’ ang grade VIII2 which is taught by utilizing Guided Inquiry model with the total of 24 students. The results of research reveal that, (1) the students’ learning motivation taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model is in very high category; whereas, the ones taught by utilizing Guided Inquiry model is in high category, (2) the students’ critical thinking ability taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model are both in good category, but they have different mean score, (3) the students’ learning result of biology subject taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model are both in good category, but they have different mean score in general, and (4) there are differences of learning motivation, critical thingking ability, and learning result of the students taught by utilizing Problem Based Learning model and Guided Inquiry model.

Abstract

This research aims to explore how primary school teachers integrate character education based on indigenous cultures and traditions in elementary school settings. Using a qualitative approach, the study involved collecting and analyzing data through semi-structured interviews with eight educators. The procedure included gathering information, reducing and presenting data, and drawing conclusions to understand how teachers incorporate local traditions and cultures from the Malay and Dayak tribes—such as Pengari, Saprahan, Beduruk, Robok-robok, Beroyong and Jagau Sungei—into their teaching practices. The findings reveal that teachers adapt these traditions to promote character development, focusing on values like cooperation, mutual assistance, responsibility, social care, and environmental consciousness. This study contributes novel insights into the practical application of indigenous cultural elements in character education and demonstrates how these practices can enhance student development and cultural awareness.

Abstract

We often hear the word social media. Social media is one of the masterpieces of modern tools that can be used by various groups for certain purposes. Tik Tok is one of the many applications on social media that is also the most widely used, say by students.Tik Tok is an internet-based application that contains unique features for making videos and accompanied by a myriad of music from various types of music that exist in the world that can be selected as desired. This social media can make its users addicted, because the features in it can also view videos edited by other people. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence is generated when being an active user of Tik Tok social media on the learning achievement of students in class VA MIN 1 Bulukumba. This study uses a qualitative research with a descriptive approach that uses a questionnaire/questionnaire and interviews. The results showed that there was a significant effect on the use of the applicationTik Tok. This is in accordance with data sourced from questionnaires/questionnaires and interviews that have been obtained from respondents plus supporting data for student learning achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran talking stick terhadap kemampuan berbicara anak usia dini di Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK). Desain penelitian menggunakan Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design, di mana kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dipilih tanpa randomisasi, sehingga berbentuk desain Nonequivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian melibatkan seluruh anak kelompok B di TK Taman PAUD Doa Ibu, yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelompok B1 dengan 24 anak didik dan Kelompok B2 dengan 20 anak didik. Melalui uji hipotesis, penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan yang signifikan dalam pengaruh penerapan metode Talking Stick terhadap kemampuan berbicara anak-anak di TK Taman PAUD Doa Ibu. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan perbandingan antara nilai t hitung (40.645) dan nilai t tabel (1.686). Karena t hitung lebih besar daripada t tabel, maka hipotesis H1 diterima yang menyatakan bahwa metode talking stick berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berbicara anak.

Abstract

The character of honesty is an attitude that should be developed from an early age through consistent training and habituation to become a ingrained habit. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of habituation methods on instilling honesty character in early childhood aged 5-6 years. This research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample size consisted of 20 students determined using purposive sampling method. Data collection was conducted using observation sheets with Likert scale. Data analysis was performed using paired sample t-test with the assistance of IBM SPSS 23. The hypothesis testing results indicate that there is a significant difference between the average pretest and posttest scores in the development of honesty behavior, including indicators such as telling the truth, admitting mistakes, not hiding information, showing honesty in games, and having responsibility. It can be concluded that habituation methods can develop honesty character in early childhood aged 5-6 years.
