Abstract

The ability of mathematical comprehension and counting skills of students is an important aspect that needs understood by students in mathematics learning in elementary school. The aim of this research is to find out the improvement of mathematical comprehension ability and counting skills of students who get learning with contextual approaches, studying contextual approaches, and studying conventional approaches to the study of physiology. This research method is quasi experiment with data collection technique using pretest and posttest. The samples of this study were the second grade of SDN 1 Tangkil, SDN 3 Kedongdong, and SDN 1 Wiyong, and then based on the results of the different test of the sample were bound and identified that the three classes could improve the ability of mathematical comprehension and counting skills. Based on the average test of the average free sample using H-test (Kruskal-Wallis), it is known that there is a difference in the average ability of mathematical comprehension and counting skills in the three experimental classes, and it can also be known the relationship between mathematical comprehension ability and student counting skills.

Abstract

This research is based on the researcher's interest in the matter of integers. The integrity of the matter of integers, making the students difficult to learn. The purpose of this research is to proving that learning using kapone media is better than conventional. Population in this research is the elementary school at Kecamatan Sumedang Selatan using KTSP curriculum with of class IV in school as many as 30 students. Meanwhile, the sample is the IV grade students of SDN Cikondang I as experimental class and SDN Gunasari as control class. Instruments used such of test mathematical understanding and problem solving abilities. observation sheet student activities and performance teacher, and student journals. Research result with significance level of α=0,05 indicates that learning by using kapone media is better than conventional learning in improving students' understanding and problem solving capability.

Abstract

The contextual approach is an approach that links the material taught to the real life situations of the student, with that matter the students can make the connection between the knowledge who he has with the student's daily life. Based on visual-spatial intelligence, in learning process,teacher more choose playing a color. Color games in learning make students not feel bored. The base of visual-spatial intelligence is applied in the contextual component of modeling and inquiry through the learning community. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of visual-spatial based visual contextual approach towards students' mathematical understanding on simple space building materials and their webs. This research was conducted at elementary school in Gegesik, SDN 2 Panunggul with SDN 2 Kedungdalem. Sampling is done using purposive sampling. The result of calculation from data processing obtained by value of correlation coefficient (R) 0,023 = 2,3%

Abstract

Mathematics is mostly related to human life, thus, humans are required to have the mathematical understanding ability in solving life problems since in the elementary school age. Therefore, mathematics learning at school should have relevance value to construct mathematical concept that can be used in real life.  Innovative mathematics learning through Contextual Learning (CTL) model based on Sundanese Culture Ethnomathematics as a local wisdom at which humans use mathematics in their real life, was chosen as a deep solution to increase the mathematical understanding ability, because students live in their culture and society. This study employsan experimental method by conducting pretest and postest control group design. The purpose of this study is to determine the increasing of students’ mathematical understanding ability on experiment class (using CTL model based on Sundanese Ethnomathematics) and control class (using conventional learning model). The result of this study produced conclusion that CTL based on Sundanese ethnomahtematics and conventional model can increasethe mathematical understanding ability significantly. However, the application of CTL model based on Sundanese Ethnomathematics was significantly better than conventional model (62.29%) to increase students’ mathematical understanding ability on learning the basic concepts of rectangular geometry for 4th grade students of elementary school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang masih rendah terutama pada materi Statistika (Pengumpulan dan Penyajian Data). Sedangkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang penting untuk dikuasai dalam pembelajaran matematika. Rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis tersebut karena siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan kesulitan belajar komunikasi matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dengan desain cross-sectional survey. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi Statistika berada pada kriteria kurang baik, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang kemampuan komunikasi matematisnya rendah, 2) Kesulitan yang dialami siswa ketika belajar komunikasi matematis yaitu siswa kesulitan dalam memahami informasi pada soal, kesulitan dalam mengartikan istilah matematis, kesulitan dalam menjelaskan informasi, dan kesulitan dalam membuat sajian matematis.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan bidang studi yang mendukung berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan juga teknologi. Dalam belajar matematika, seorang guru haruslah merancang dan juga memprogram pembelajaran matematika agar mengetahui seperti apa penggunaan matematika dalam kehidupan nyata siswa, meningkatkan kolaborasi, mendorong penggunaan teknologi, mengembangkan siswa supaya mampu mengungkapkan ide baik secara lisan maupun tulisan, serta menjelaskan bahwa matematika sangatlah berkaitan erat dengan mata pelajaran lain dan juga dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan desain penelitian tipe survey jenis cross sectional survey design dengan menggunakan instrument tes diagnostik, wawancara, angket, dan juga dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menyatakan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang paling tinggi dimiliki siswa yaitu kemampuan memahami masalah, sedangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah paling rendah yang dimiliki siswa yaitu terletak pada kemampuan merumuskan analisis penyelesaian masalah. Oleh karena itu, dapat dikatakan pula bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki oleh siswa dapat dikatakan masih kurang.

Abstract

Penyajian data merupakan salah satu standar kompetensi yang harus dikuasai. Materi penyajian data digunakan untuk tes hambatan belajar. Berdasarkan hasil tes hambatan belajar yang dilakukan kelas VI di dua sekolah dasar, siswa mengalami hambatan belajar epistemologi dan ontogeni serta rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Hambatan belajar epistemology merukapan hambatan belajar yang dikarenakan pengetahuan siswa tidak sepenuhnya dikuasi. Sedangkan, hambatan belajar ontogeny merupakan hambatan belajar yang dikarenakan ketidaksiapan mental belajar siswa. Permasalahan tersebut dilakukan suatu upaya yang dapat mengatasi hambatan belajar dan meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis dengan menerapkan Didactical Design Research (DDR) dibantu model inkuiri terbimbing. Tujuan penelitian ini guna mengidentifikasi hambatan belajar, merancang desain didaktis tiga pertemuan yang mengacu pada hambatan belajar yang dialami siswa, indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis dan tahapan model inkuiri terbimbing serta merancang antisipasi didaktis pedagogis (ADP), kemudian dilakukan uji kelayakan ke para guru melalui angket dengan mengisi google form yang telah disediakan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan DDR sebagai desainnya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan desain didaktis materi penyajian data yang disusun berdasarkan tahapan inkuiri terbimbing untuk mengatasi hambatan belajar dan meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran matematis.

Abstract

Understanding ability is a basic ability that students need to have so that they can develop other abilities in learning. Through online learning using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning methods, the teacher tries to optimize learning by utilizing student learning styles, so that learning can develop students' understanding abilities. The purpose of this research is to find out how the students' understanding ability after learning is given and to know how to implement online learning using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning methods. Pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest is the research method used in this study. The population in this study were all fourth-grade students of Public Elementary Schools in Sumedang Regency in the 2020/2021 academic year, while the samples were fourth-grade students of SDN Lembursitu and SDN Tenjolaya. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, the conclusions obtained are: 1) Students' understanding ability in online learning with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methods has increased. 2) The implementation of online learning using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning methods as a whole went well.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa dalam memahami materi volume bangun ruang dapat dikategorikan masih rendah. Hal tersebut terlihat dari kesulitan-kesulitan yang dialami siswa SD dalam memahami materi volume bangun ruang balok dan kubus. maka dari itu, dilakukan sebuah penelitian untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa pada materi volume bangun ruang balok dan kubus. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan desain Cross-sectional Survey. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis. Dari hasil analisis tes, terlihat bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan pada saat menyebutkan unsur-unsur balok, melakukan perhitungan volume, dan menyelesaikan soal cerita mengenai volume. Dari hasil analisis tes menunjukkan persentase ketercapaian siswa pada kemampuan pemahaman mekanikal sebesar 28,99%, sedangkan pemahaman induktif 7,50%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan tingkat kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa dari tiga sekolah dasar masih berada pada tahap pemahaman mekanikal.

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence, get a comparison between both approaches (RME and saintifik approachs), and knowing the correlation of these two goals. The research method used true experimental design, pretest-posttest control group design. The population is all second grade students in Sumedang. The second grade student’s in the experimental group I (Panyingkiran III Elementary School) and group II (Sukamaju Elementary School) as the research samples. The results of this research are: 1) Learning mathematics using the RME and a scientific approach with adobe flash CS5 has a influence significantly on mathematics comprehention ability (cognitive goals) and student’s self-efficacy (affective goals) of fraction subject matter. 2) The difference is in improving cognitive and affective goals of fraction subject matter, RME is better than scientific approach. 3) There is a positive correlation between the mathematics comprehention ability and students self-efficacy in learning mathematics using RME and a scientific approach.
