Abstract

Organizational commitment is crucial to enhancing the performance of employees and the efficiency of the institutions of the public sector. Nevertheless, the issues of low engagement, lack of participation, and motivation remain problematic to many government organizations. These concerns underscore the need to explore psychological and structural aspects that determine the development of attachment by employees towards their place of work. This paper explores how employee empowerment, self  efficacy and perceived organizational support affect organizational commitment in a local government organization. The quantitative method was employed to collect data on 78 employees via a structured questionnaire and to analyze it with the help of the multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that organizational commitment is significantly enhanced with the empowerment of employees and self  efficacy, whereas organizational support positively though not very strong. The three variables combined can account 66.7% of organizational commitment variance. The results highlight the necessity to tighten the participatory working conditions, build trust in the employees to use their skills, and develop better support systems within organizations. Such implication give recommendations to leaders in the public sector who want to ensure that they have a more committed, motivated, and resilient workforce

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of complaint handling and service quality on the loyalty of independent BPJS Health participants, with participant satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed using the SEM-PLS method, involving 251 respondents in Sijunjung Regency. The findings reveal that both complaint handling and service quality positively affect participant satisfaction. However, complaint handling has a negative impact on loyalty, indicating that negative experiences continue to influence participants even after their complaints are addressed. Meanwhile, satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between service quality and participant loyalty.

Abstract

This study examines whether supervisor recognition, healthy interpersonal relationships, and work–life balance affect work motivation among personnel of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the West Sumatra Regional Police. The study used a quantitative explanatory design with a cross-sectional survey approach. The population consisted of 146 personnel, and 82 respondents were obtained through accidental sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling through SmartPLS 4. The measurement model met the required validity and reliability criteria after one work–life balance indicator was removed. The structural model shows that supervisor recognition has a positive and significant effect on work motivation (β = 0.360; t = 4.395; p < 0.001), healthy interpersonal relationships also have a positive and significant effect and emerge as the strongest predictor (β = 0.411; t = 5.382; p < 0.001), and work–life balance has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.219; t = 2.082; p = 0.037). The model explains 44.0 percent of the variance in work motivation. These findings indicate that work motivation in police organizations is strengthened when recognition, social support, and role balance are managed in an integrated manner.

Abstract

Purpose: This study delves into the impact of public service excellence, the challenges of conflicting roles, and the drive for public service on community contentment in Pondok Tinggi, Sungai Penuh, highlighting both the direct and intermediary influences of these elements. Methodology: Employing a quantitative research methodology, this study gathered data from 144 respondents through surveys conducted between August and September 2024. The survey included various constructs related to public service, role conflict, and motivation, which were analyzed using statistical techniques provided by IBM SPSS software. Results: The findings revealed that the quality of public service significantly enhances community satisfaction, whereas role conflict negatively affects it. Moreover, public service motivation plays a crucial role in improving community satisfaction, suggesting a complex interplay between these variables. Conclusions: This study conclusively demonstrates that the quality of public service significantly enhances community satisfaction, whereas role conflict detracts from it. Furthermore, public service motivation significantly boosts this satisfaction, underscoring the critical interplay between these factors. By holistically examining these dynamics, this study provides valuable insights for local government policies aimed at improving public service delivery and community well-being in Pondok Tinggi, Sungai Penuh. Limitations: The main limitation of this study is its focus on a single locality, which may not fully represent other regions with different administrative dynamics. Contribution: This study enriches the body of knowledge surrounding public administration by illuminating the essential elements that influence community satisfaction and presenting tangible evidence derived from a local governmental setting in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of tactical training, work motivation, and competence on the operational performance of Brimob Company 3 members in Sungai Penuh City. The study was designed as causal quantitative research. The population consisted of all 60 personnel in the unit, and because the population was fully accessible, the study used saturated sampling. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling using SmartPLS. The measurement model met the required validity and reliability criteria after several indicators with inadequate loadings were removed. The structural model showed that tactical training had a positive and significant effect on operational performance with a path coefficient of 0.398 and a probability value of 0.000. Work motivation also had a positive and significant effect with a coefficient of 0.277 and a probability value of 0.017. Competence had the strongest positive and significant effect with a coefficient of 0.429 and a probability value of 0.000. The model explained 47.6 percent of the variance in operational performance, indicating moderate explanatory power. These findings confirm that performance improvement in tactical police units requires stronger training quality, sustained work motivation, and systematic competence development.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of digital competence, stress management, and police officer engagement on burnout among personnel at the Pesisir Selatan Police Resort. The study used a quantitative explanatory design with a survey approach. Data were collected from 138 personnel selected from 211 active members and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS 26. The results show that digital competence has a negative and significant effect on burnout. Stress management also has a negative and significant effect on burnout. Police officer engagement similarly has a negative and significant effect on burnout. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect burnout, with an R Square value of 0.745. These findings indicate that stronger digital capability, better stress management, and healthier engagement contribute to lower burnout among police personnel. The study confirms that personal resources play an important role in helping police officers cope with demanding work conditions. The findings imply that police organizations need to strengthen digital skills, provide stress management support, and maintain healthy engagement to reduce burnout and sustain organizational effectiveness.

The study employed a quantitative explanatory design using a survey method. The population consisted of all 49 personnel, and the study applied saturated sampling so that the entire population was included as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS 26. The results show that well-being has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, psychological capital also has a positive and significant effect and emerges as the strongest predictor, and job crafting has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect organizational commitment, with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.912. These findings indicate that organizational commitment in a high-pressure police unit is strengthened when employee well-being, psychological capital, and proactive work behavior are managed in an integrated manner.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of institutional relocation on employee work discipline at State Islamic University Imam Bonjol Padang and tests the mediating role of work motivation. The study employed a quantitative explanatory design with a cross-sectional survey approach. From a population of 184 employees, 70 permanent employees were selected through accidental sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS. The results show that institutional relocation has a significant negative effect on work motivation, but a significant positive effect on work discipline. Work motivation does not significantly affect work discipline and does not mediate the relationship between institutional relocation and work discipline. These findings indicate that institutional relocation may create psychological adjustment pressure while simultaneously strengthening employee discipline through more organized work arrangements, improved facilities, and clearer work procedures. The study contributes to organizational behavior research by showing that organizational change in a public Islamic university does not necessarily influence discipline through motivational mechanisms. Practically, post-relocation policy should prioritize facilities, change communication, psychological support, and employee readiness.
