Abstract

AbstrakLimit trigonometri menjadi salah satu materi penting pada mata kuliah Kalkulus. Namun mahasiswa mengakui bahwa sub-bab materi ini sangatlah sulit, sekalipun mereka sudah mempelajarinya di bangku sekolah menengah. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah menganalisis kesulitan apa saja yang dialami mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kesulitan-kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal limit trigonometri dan penyebab kesulitannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa pendidikan matematika yang berjumlah 30 mahasiswa, kemudian dianalisis tiga jawaban mahasiswa yang mewakili kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah soal tes sebanyak dua nomor tentang limit trigonometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang ditemui pada penelitian ini adalah kesalahan konsep, kesalahan operasi dan kesalahan prinsip.   Analysis of the Difficulties of Mathematics Education Students in Solving Trigonometric Limit Problems AbstractLimit trigonometry is one of the important materials in Calculus courses. However, students admit that this sub-chapter of material is very difficult, even though they have studied it in high school. The solution offered is to analyze what difficulties are experienced by students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the difficulties of students in solving trigonometric limits and the causes of the difficulties. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 30 students of mathematics education, then analyzed the three student answers that represented the most mistakes made by students. The research instrument used was a two-number test question about the limits of trigonometry. The results showed that the errors encountered in this study were conceptual errors, operating errors, and principle errors.

Abstract

Pendidikan di era 4.0 memberikan dampak dalam proses pembelajaran setelah sebelumnya hanya memanfaatkan media seadanya saja dari pengajar, dimana dengan perkembangan teknologi harus dapat memanfaatkan fasilitas internet dan dapat menunjang kompetensi mahasiswa secara teori dan praktek. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan mengembangkan media berbahasa pemrograman open-source dengan penerapan computational thinking. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat media berbahasa pemrograman open-source dengan penerapan computational thinking dan untuk mengetahui efektivitas dari media yang dikembangkan terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode R & D serta penelitian eksperimental dengan subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Timor yang memrogram matakuliah Kalkulus Lanjut T.A. 2021/2022. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi ahli materi dan ahli media, angket respon mahasiswa, serta soal pre-test dan post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan mendapatkan penilaian “sangat baik” dari ahli materi dan ahli media serta dari mahasiswa. Sebagai tambahan, terdapat peningkatan hasil tes mahasiswa sebesar 91,36 setelah diberikan perlakuan meskipun mahasiswa cenderung kurang mendapatkan penekanan pada tahap persevering. Kesimpulannya, media yang dikembangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the analysis of students’ critical thinking skills from the Adversity Quotient on the mathematical system of linear equations of two variables. The type of this study is qualitative descriptive. The subjects were 28 students of class VIIIA SMPS Mimbar Budi Manufui. The instruments used were test and subject interviews. Subject interview selected 3 students with details of students of the climber type 1 student of the camper type and quiter type students. The data analysis used were tests, interviews and documents. The results of this study indicate that the type climber students are capable fulfill all indicators of students’ critical thinking to interpret, to analyze, to evaluate and to explore. While the camper students type is able to interpret, to analyze, to evaluate but they can not infer. The other result shows that quitter students just can be interpret, analyze, but they can not evaluate and infer.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pemilihan program studi yang tepat merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat mendukung kelulusan siswa pada Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SBMPTN) dan Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (SNMPTN). Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu kegiatan yang dapat menunjang kelulusan siswa. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk melakukan pendampingan pemilihan program studi perguruan tinggi negeri (PTN) pada 130 orang siswa kelas XII SMAN 2 Kefamenanu. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan pendampingan. Tahapan kegiatan ini antara lain melakukan koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah, mengurus administrasi kegiatan seperti surat izin dan surat tugas, melaksanakan kegiatan, dan terakhir melakukan pelaporan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket pengetahuan awal dan akhir diperoleh bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan para siswa terkait kegiatan pengabdian ini, yaitu sebesar 21.34% dan juga terdapat perubahan dalam pemilihan program studi sebesar 4.61%. Kesimpulannya, setelah kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan sebagian besar peserta kegiatan telah memahami dengan baik mengenai hal-hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pemilihan program studi pada PTN di Indonesia.Abstract: The selection of the right study program is one of factors that can support student success in the Joint Selection for State Higher Education Entrance (SBMPTN) and the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN) which are a series of college entrance tests. Therefore, we need an activity that can support student success. The objectives of this community service activity is to assist in the selection of state university study programs for 130 students of grade 12th of SMAN 2 Kefamenanu. The method used in this service is to provide assistance. The stages of this service activity include coordinating with the school, taking care of the administration of activities such as permit and assignment letters, carrying out service activity, and finally reporting. Based on the analysis of initial and final knowledge questionnare, it was found that there was an increase in students’ knowledge regarding this service activity, which was 21.34% and there was also a change in the selection of study programs by 4.61%. In conclusion, after the community service activity was carried out, most of the participants who were the students of grade 12th of SMAN 2 Kefamenanu had a good understanding of the things that needed to be considered in the selection of study programs at State University in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the cognitive development of mathematics education students based on Piaget's theory in terms of gender differences. This research method is descriptive quantitative research with the research subjects being students of mathematics education at Timor Universities. Students' cognitive development was measured using the Logical Operations Test (LOT), which consisted of 14 numbers. LOT questions are given to students, the results are analyzed and described. The results showed that the cognitive development stage for females was 19.18% in the initial concrete stage, 36.99% in the final concrete stage, 13.70% in the initial formal stage and 1.37% in the final formal stage. Male at 9.59% in the initial concrete stage, 6.85% in the final concrete stage, 9.59% in the initial formal stage and 2.74% in the final formal stage. Meanwhile, students' understanding based on seven logical operations is in low understanding for each type.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengetahui perkembangan kognitif mahasiswa pendidikan matematika berdasarkan teori Piaget ditinjau dari perbedaan jenis kelamin. Metode penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika Universitas Timor. Perkembangan kognitif mahasiswa diukur dengan menggunakan Tes Operasi Logis (TOL) yang berjumlah 14 nomor. Soal TOL diberikan kepada mahasiswa, hasilnya dianalisis dan dideskripsikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tahap perkembangan kognitif sebesar 19,18% tahap konkret awal, 36,99 % tahap konkret akhir, 13,70% tahap formal awal dan 1,37% tahap formal akhir bagi mahasiswa perempuan. Sementara hasil pemetaan tahap perkembangan kognitif sebesar 9,59% tahap konkret awal, 6,85 % tahap konkret akhir, 9,59% tahap formal awal dan 2,74% tahap formal akhir bagi mahasiswa laki-laki. Sementara itu pemahaman mahasiswa berdasarkan 7 operasi logis berada dalam pemahaman rendah untuk masing-masing tipe.

Abstract

Mathematics learning carried out at SMP Kristen Kefamenanu refers to a teacher-centered learning system. Microsoft Excel is one application that can be used as a medium for learning mathematics to make it easier for students to solve problems, especially those related to the presentation of graphs. SMP Kristen Kefamenanu has a Computer Laboratory which also has a Microsoft Excel application. The purpose of this service is to provide Charting training using Microsoft Excel as a means of mathematics learning tool to students in SMP Kristen Kefamenanu. The activity was carried out for two days, and during the course of the activity students showed enthusiasm and were able to follow directions during the activity. The results of feedback given by students on the answers to the satisfaction questionnaire showed that students gave categories of strongly agree and agree on 18 questions. This shows that the existence of PKM activities that have been carried out can help students better understand mathematics lessons delivered at school, as well as increase knowledge for students in using Microsoft Excel as a tool for mathematics learning.

Abstract

Community service activity aimed to provide an understanding of mathematical concepts consists of tips and tricks to solve exam questions for junior high school students. Furthermore, the background of the implementation of this training is to get students used to solve non-routine problems found during national examination, particularly in mathematics subject. This community service was carried out from October to November 2019 with 15 participants. This activity consists of three stages starting with the field assessment, the implementation stage and the last is final stage. In the field assessment stage, the servant determines the trainees to work national examination questions quickly and accurately that is specifically for junior high school students and determine where training will be held. The second stage is the implementation stage for exposuring to rapid strategies in administering national examination, question and answer, and national examination simulation. The final stage is the evaluation stage that is an implementation evaluation of theactivities that have been arranged based on each task that has been given .Based on the training activity that have been carried out it can be concluded that the training activity adds the knowledge and skills of students in working mathematics national examination questions. In addition, this training motivates students to be more active in learning mathematics and to be more mature in preparing for the upcoming national examination. Abstract

Mathematics is a form of culture inherent in all aspects of society's life. In the cultural practices of certain communities, mathematical concepts are involved. There is an intersection between culture and mathematics. Therefore, this research is conducted to explore the mathematical concepts used by traders. This study was conducted at the Niki-Niki Traditional Market. The research subjects consist of 6 individuals, with 2 betel nut sellers, 2 chili pepper sellers, and 2 woven fabric sellers. The data in this study are primary data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis employs the techniques of ethnographic research data analysis, including domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and cultural theme analysis. The results of the research indicate that there are mathematical concepts of plane geometry and integers in the activities of traders. Concepts of plane geometry include points, rectangles, circles, rhombuses, straight lines, curved lines, and fractal geometry. Meanwhile, mathematical concepts related to integers include sets, counting, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.

Abstract

Literacy Numeracy is currently one of the topics in learning mathematics. A person is said to have Numerical Literacy Ability to count, distinguish and process various data symbols, and perform basic mathematical operations to fix the problem. However, the problem that is always faced by students today is the lack of understanding of the basic concepts of mathematics, one of which is integer arithmetic operations, so it won't be easy to understand more abstract mathematical concepts. The low numeracy literacy ability is due to the learning process not applying the suitable model or media. Therefore, it is necessary to have appropriate learning media so that students understand concepts well and can improve Numerical Literacy skills. One of the proper media or teaching aids for learning integer arithmetic operations is Koin Muatan, made with paper as a base material that symbolizes positive and negative charges. The type of research used was experimental research, a one-group pretest-posttest design pre-experimental design on 21 SD GMIT 4 Kefamenanu students. Data collection techniques were observation, tests and documentation. At the same time, the data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis, inferential analysis and N-Gain analysis. The t-test results are used to test the average value before and after being given treatment and whether there is a significant effect. Based on the results of the tests performed, the average pretest and posttest values were 43.51 and 70.79. An N-Gain test was carried out to determine the large increase in numeracy literacy skills so that an N-Gain value of 0.45 was included in the moderate category. This result proves an increase in numeracy literacy skills after students are given the learning treatment using the Koin Muatan teaching aids at SD GMIT 4 Kefamenanu.
