Abstract

The teachers need help to convey the differences between relations and functions and to make concrete examples. The purpose of the community service team is to help students find and comprehend the theory and concept about relations and functions material for grade 8 by introducing and demonstrating the Papan Resi visual aid.The service held in SMPK Aloysius Niki-Niki, Timor Tengah Utara District, Nusa Tenggara Timur. The service method is based on action research: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data are collected based on the audiences' observation sheets and response sheets. Data analysis used data triangulation. The results of this community service are that introducing and demonstrating Papan Resi could be beneficial for increasing students' comprehension of SMPK Aloysius Niki-Niki. The constructivist situation influences it, and the service needs to be held for other teaching aids

Abstract

Masalah yang terjadi adalah guru harus kreatif, inovatif dalam merencanakan pembelajaran matematika agar siswa tidak merasa bosan dan jenuh dalam belajar matematika. Salah satu cara agar guru dapat melakukan hal ini melalui sebuah learning community yang terbentuk melalui kegiatan lesson study. Dalam lesson study para guru dapat saling bertukar pikiran untuk bersama-sama menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang merdeka bagi siswa sehingga tujuan pengabdian ini adalah menciptakan aktivitas merdeka dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui lesson study. Metode yang digunakan adalah diskusi dalam tahap-tahap lesson study yaitu plan, do dan see. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa anggota lesson study dapat merencanakan pembelajaran, melaksanakan pembelajaran dan merefleksikan pembelajaran yang merdeka bagi siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaiamana pengaruh variabel persepsi siswa tentang matematika terhadap hasil belajar. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex-post facto. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Kefamenanu yang berjumlah 201 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik sensus di mana seluruh anggota dalam populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Untuk memperoleh tujuan penelitian ini, Peneliti menggunakan instrumen berupa kuisioner dan dokumentasi hasil belajar siswa. Dalam pengolahan data digunakan metode analisis structural equation modeling (SEM) untuk menganalisis pengaruh persepsi siswa terhadap hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif antara persepsi siswa tentang matematika terhadap hasil belajar. Hal tersebut dapat  diketahui melalui nilai koefisien jalur yang bertanda negatif yaitu sebesar -0.15. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan bahwa variabel persepsi siswa memiliki pengaruh signifikan dengan koefisien determinasi  sebesar 53%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel persepsi siswa berkontribusi sebesar 53% terhadap hasil belajar, sisanya adalah variabel lain yang tidak ada dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

The problem is that there is disequilibrium between old knowledge and new knowledge which makes mathematics education students difficult to study material on systems of linear equations in elementary linear algebra courses. Therefore, they need media that can facilitate old knowledge and new knowledge so that knowledge is equilibrium. One of the media that can be used is the advanced organizer student worksheet. The aim of this research is to produce an advance organizer model student worksheet that is valid, practical and effective. This research is development research using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). At the analysis stage, needs analysis, material analysis and learning environment analysis are carried out. At the design stage, an LKM is created which has four characteristics, namely identity, presentation of an advance organizer, presentation of the main material and practice questions to strengthen the schema or cognitive structure. Then at the development stage, the LKM that has been designed is validated by experts. Then at the implementation stage, small trials are carried out to get practical LKM and large class trials to get effective LKM. Then the evaluation stage concerns the things that need to be evaluated in the LKM. After going through this research stage, the results were conclude that 87.72% valid, 94.84% practical and 59% effective for student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Every concept in mathematics is related to one another. In addition, a concept can be a prerequisite for another concept. One concept in mathematics is the Pythagorean Theorem. In line with the results of interviews with mathematics teachers at SMPN Tublopo where there are still many students who do not understand the Pythagorean Theorem material and many students are still not focused and do not pay attention to the teacher during the learning process. So a solution is needed to solve the problems being experienced, one of which can be done is to do community service by implementing the Pythagorean puzzle media. Community service activities really help students understand the Pythagorean theorem material with the help of Pythagorean puzzle teaching aids. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, it can be seen that there was an increase of 270.83%. And based on the questionnaire, it can be seen that students find it easier to answer math questions, are happier and more enthusiastic when learning uses puzzle media. Students also find it easier to solve problems related to the Pythagorean theorem because of the help of puzzle media. Overall, we can see that there was a positive response from students after this community service was carried out based on the results of the questionnaire given after the activity ended.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence chatbots have become famous nowadays because of their ease of use, which is even felt by educators and students. However, the AI chatbot algorithm sometimes does not match what is expected because it is not precise and does not match the prompt. For example, when we type the prompt "basic concepts of mathematical modeling for middle school class VII" there is very little explanation of the basic concepts. The search results provided by AI chatbots are too complex for students who want to learn simple basics. Based on this, this research was carried out with the aim of developing an AI chatbot to support differentiation learning. This type of research is ADDIE model development research which is carried out in five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The results of the research at the analysis stage are that students need learning media that is appropriate to their level of understanding of mathematical modeling material as basic material before studying other material. The results of this analysis are the basis for designing an AI chatbot and bot scenarios to be developed and given to experts, namely educational technologists and mathematics education lecturers. After that, small class trials and large class trials at the implementation stage to get practicality and effectiveness test results in using the AI chatbot. The final stage is evaluation as a process of reflection on the results of AI chatbot development. The research results show that the AI chatbot media developed is valid, practical and effective. Valid criteria with a percentage of 89.7%, practical criteria of 85% and effective criteria of 77.67% in small group trials.      Keywords: chatbot AI, differentiated, mathematics learning.

Abstract

Math anxiety is a condition that inhibits students' ability to reach the potential of learning experiences and classroom math assessments, or both which are emotional responses and objects of fear or fear. This definition shows that math anxiety can be one of the internal factors felt by each individual, especially when approaching certain tests or exams. UTBK test is one type of test or exam that makes math a compulsory subject that is tested. Students need to be given preparation in the form of guidance to reduce math anxiety in order to get maximum results. The purpose of this study is to see if there is an influence between math anxiety on UTBK test preparation of SMAN 1 Kefamenanu students. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study were all students of SMAN 1 Kefamenanu Class XII. While sampling was done randomly totaling 71 students. The results showed that there was a negative relationship between math anxiety and UTBK test preparation results (simulation). However, this relationship does not have a significant effect on the result of UTBK test preparation

Abstract

Limit trigonometri menjadi salah satu materi penting pada mata kuliah Kalkulus. Namun mahasiswa mengakui bahwa sub-bab materi ini sangatlah sulit, sekalipun mereka sudah mempelajarinya di bangku sekolah menengah. Solusi yang ditawarkan adalah menganalisis kesulitan apa saja yang dialami mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kesulitan-kesulitan mahasiswa dalam menyelesaikan soal limit trigonometri dan penyebab kesulitannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa pendidikan matematika yang berjumlah 30 mahasiswa, kemudian dianalisis tiga jawaban mahasiswa yang mewakili kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan oleh mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah soal tes sebanyak dua nomor tentang limit trigonometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang ditemui pada penelitian ini adalah kesalahan konsep, kesalahan operasi dan kesalahan prinsip. Limit trigonometry is one of the important materials in Calculus courses. However, students admit that this sub-chapter of material is very difficult, even though they have studied it in high school. The solution offered is to analyze what difficulties are experienced by students. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the difficulties of students in solving trigonometric limits and the causes of the difficulties. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 30 students of mathematics education, then analyzed the three student answers that represented the most mistakes made by students. The research instrument used was a two-number test question about the limits of trigonometry. The results showed that the errors encountered in this study were conceptual errors, operating errors, and principal errors.

Abstract

Community service activity aimed to provide an understanding of mathematical concepts consists of tips and tricks to solve exam questions for junior high school students. Furthermore, the background of the implementation of this training is to get students used to solve non-routine problems found during national examination, particularly in mathematics subject. This community service was carried out from October to November 2019 with 15 participants. This activity consists of three stages starting with the field assessment, the implementation stage and the last is final stage. In the field assessment stage, the servant determines the trainees to work national examination questions quickly and accurately that is specifically for junior high school students and determine where training will be held. The second stage is the implementation stage for exposuring to rapid strategies in administering national examination, question and answer, and national examination simulation. The final stage is the evaluation stage that is an implementation evaluation of theactivities that have been arranged based on each task that has been given .Based on the training activity that have been carried out it can be concluded that the training activity adds the knowledge and skills of students in working mathematics national examination questions. In addition, this training motivates students to be more active in learning mathematics and to be more mature in preparing for the upcoming national examination. Abstract

Mathematics is a form of culture inherent in all aspects of society's life. In the cultural practices of certain communities, mathematical concepts are involved. There is an intersection between culture and mathematics. Therefore, this research is conducted to explore the mathematical concepts used by traders. This study was conducted at the Niki-Niki Traditional Market. The research subjects consist of 6 individuals, with 2 betel nut sellers, 2 chili pepper sellers, and 2 woven fabric sellers. The data in this study are primary data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data analysis employs the techniques of ethnographic research data analysis, including domain analysis, taxonomic analysis, componential analysis, and cultural theme analysis. The results of the research indicate that there are mathematical concepts of plane geometry and integers in the activities of traders. Concepts of plane geometry include points, rectangles, circles, rhombuses, straight lines, curved lines, and fractal geometry. Meanwhile, mathematical concepts related to integers include sets, counting, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
