Abstract

Research on Analysis of Soil Chemical Content in the Practical Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nusa Nipa, East Alok District, Sikka Regency has been carried out from October to December 2021. This study aims to determine the chemical content of the soil in the Practical Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Nusa Nipa, East Alok District, Sikka Regency. . The research method used is observation, laboratory testing, and literature study. Analysis of soil chemical content using a dry soil test device with a diagonal composite soil sampling method. The results showed that the soil in the practice garden had low organic C content (1.00-2.00%), neutral pH (6.5-7.5), high phosphorus content (26-35), and also Potassium content is in the moderate to low range.

Abstract

Soil is one of the main components that affect agricultural productivity. Soil quality certainly needs to be considered as an effort to increase plant growth and production. One of the most influential components of soil quality is the chemical nature of the soil. Research on Analysis of Soil Chemical Content in Horticultural Farmers' Land in Ladogahar Village, Nita District, Sikka Regency has been carried out from October to December 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical content of the soil in Horticultural Farmers' Land in Ladogahar Village, Nita District, Sikka Regency. This research uses observation methods, literature studies, and laboratory tests. Composite soil sampling using the zigzag method. The results showed that the land had a low C-organic content (1.00-2.00%), a slightly acidic pH (5.6-65), a low phosphorus content (21-40), and a Potassium content in the soil. moderate range (21-40).

Abstract

Kesuburan tanah merupakan salah satu faktor yang sangat penting dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi tananaman. Penggunaan kotoran ayam sebagai pupuk adalah satu pilihan yang tepat, karena kotoran ayam merupakan salah satu jenis pupuk organik yang mengandung unsur hara makro dan mikro yang dapat meningkatkan kesuburan tanah secara kimia dan dalam memperbaiki sifat fisik maupun biologi tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik pupuk kandang ayam yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) yang optimal di Kabupaten Sikka. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan enam perlakuan dan empat ulangan yaitu : PKO : 0 ton/ha, PK1 : 20 ton/ha, PK2 : 30 ton/ha, PK3 : 40 ton/ha, PK4 : 50 ton/ha, PK5 : 60 ton/ha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang ayam berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah buah tan-1, panjang buah tan-1, bobot buah tan-1, bobot buah ha-1, dan berpengaruh nyata nyata terhadap jumlah daun. Dosis pupuk kandang ayam 60 ton/ha merupakan perlakuan pupuk terbaik untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) yang optimal dengan rata-rata produksi 19,98 ton/ha di Kabupaten Sikka.

Abstract

The low soil fertility is one of the causes of the reduction in cassava production in the Nuabosi area of Ende Regency. Therefore it is necessary to identify soil fertility and farmer activities on the land. This research used survey system by takes soil samples and farmers from ten fields in five villages, namely Ndetundora I, Ndetundora II, Ndetundora III, Embuteru and Randotonda. Determination of land were used purposive sampling method. Whereas farmer activity data is obtained by interviewing farmers whose land is used as land sampling. Variables observed were physical and chemical soil properties. The results of the analysis of agricultural activities can be described using existing theories. While the analysis results of the physical and chemical properties of the soil can be described using chemical criteria and soil fertility from the Bogor soil research center. The results of interviews and direct observations in the field showed that Nuabosi cassava farmers did not only plant cassava but also used conservative agricultural on their land. The physical properties of the soil analyzed showed that the soil was suitable for cassava plants. Based on soil fertility criteria, these lands have a limiting factor for C-Organic.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik padat berbahan dasar lokal yang ada di Kabupaten Sikka merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk dapat mewujudkan pertanian organik ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan kebutuhan petani yang ada di Kelompok Tani Alam Subur Desa Waigete Kabupaten Sikka. Tujuan khusus dilaksanakan kegiatan ini adalah untuk menambah wawasan dan keterampilan petani sayur-sayuran untuk dapat mengolah bahan organik yang ada di lingkungan sekitar untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk organik, sehingga dapat mengurangi ketergantungan petani terhadap pupuk anorganik. Diharapkan setelah kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik ini dapat menambah wawasan petani dalam meningkatkan kesuburan tanah dengan memanfaatkan bahan organik.

Abstract

Sikka District is one of the areas experiencing a clean water crisis because only 5.23 % of people have access to clean water in 2020. Therefore, rainwater management will be carried out to obtain clean water using roof top rainwater harvesting technology. This study aims to calculate the potency of clean water that can be obtained from rainwater harvesting. Comparative descriptive analysis method was used to compare the data of clean water potency that can be obtained from rainwater harvesting with the data of clean water needs from the people in Sikka District in 2020. The results show that the potency of clean water that can be obtained from rainwater harvesting is 3,593961.6 m3/year or 3,593,961,600 liters/year and clean water needs of all the people is 17,626,927 m3/year or 17,626,927,000 liters/year. The people that gets clean water from rainwater harvesting is 20.38 % or as many as 65,615 people from the total population in Sikka District. This shows that the use of rainwater cannot meet the clean water needs of all people in Sikka Distric. There is a need for other sources of clean water that are bigger and can be used to meet the needs of all people.

Abstract

The use of inorganic fertilizer in the tillage was mostly used by Sikkanese. The reason was the large supply of inorganic fertilizer on the market, fast response, easy to absorb, and not to waste times. In the implementation, inorganic fertilizer was not used accordance with the stipulation of the four rights (4T): right dose, right time, right place, and right source. The result was the decrease of soil quality and the death of soil-degrading microorganisms so that the soil became infertile. Therefore, the booklet as a learning media gave the right information about the proper fertilization system. The research aims to know the appropriateness of the booklet development of inorganic fertilization system. The method used was the research and development (R n D) method by adopting a Borg and Gall model. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling. The analysis technical was validity analysis (valid percentage) and appropriate analysis (Widoyoko categorial). The result of the study showed that the booklet was appropriated to use as a medium of information for the farmer with the feasibility category both at the initial field trial and field trial stages. Furthermore, in the field trial implementation, the booklet was suitable to use with the very good feasibility category.

Abstract

Bahan organik dalam tanah merupakan salah satu indikator kesuburan tanah. Penggunaan bahan organik dapat meningkatkan kesuburan tanah melalui perubahan sifat fisik, kimia dan biologi tanah. Lahan sawah dengan intensitas penanaman yang tinggi sangat minim aplikasi pupuk organik. Berbagai alasan mendasar sehingga petani dominan memanfaatkan pupuk anorganik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan unsur hara tanaman. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan di Desa Magepanda Kecamatan Magepanda Kabupaten Sikka. Uji sifat kimia tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Ilmu Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Nusa Cendana Kupang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kandungan C- organik adalah 1,04-2,01% dengan kriteria rendah hingga sedang dan tergolong dalam tanah dengan pH netral (bandingkan sifat kimia tanah menurut Balai Penelitian Tanah Bogor, 1995). Perlu dilakukan upaya untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah di Desa Magepanda Kecamatan Magepanda Kabupaten Sikka adalah melalui penggunaan pupuk organik.

Abstract

Soil's physical properties greatly affect the development and absorption of plant nutrients. This study aims to determine the physical properties of the soil on several land uses and slopes using the blepeng method. Soil collection was carried out from corn, nutmeg, cloves, and rainfed rice fields on two slope classes, namely 8-15% and 15-30%. Soil sampling used a diagonal system, where 9 sample points were taken from each location. The variables observed were bulk density, porosity, soil water content, soil texture and soil color. The results of the research show that the soil in Munerana Village, Hewokloang District, Sikka Regency is included in the texture of sandy loam soil, the low water content in the soil ranges from 14.87% to 25.50%, soil porosity is 25.66% to 29.12%, soil fill density is 1.17 me/100 g to 1.97 me/100 g and the soil color is dark reddish gray.
