Abstract

Mathematics is a universal science that has an important role in various disciplines and develops the human mind, and underlies the development of modern technology. Therefore, mathematics subjects need to be given to all students from elementary school to high school levels to equip students with the ability to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, and creatively, and be able to solve the problems they face in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibiting factors of teachers in learning mathematics and the efforts made to overcome the inhibiting factors of teachers in learning mathematics at elementary school Inpres Oebufu, Kupang City. The results of this study indicate that the inhibiting factors for teachers in learning mathematics are the lack of interest and motivation of students in learning, there is insufficient infrastructure and must be made by the teacher, and the family environment and residence that do not support students' interest and motivation to learn. at home. Efforts are being made to overcome the inhibiting factors of teachers in learning mathematics, namely every time the teacher starts a lesson the teacher gives enthusiasm and motivates students to focus on learning, provides stabilization in the study of material, and provides sufficient media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (PMR) approach on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students on the circumference and area of flat shapes. The research method used is quantitative with a Pre-Experimental Design approach of the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. The sampling technique used a simple random sampling technique. Data on student learning outcomes were collected using a multiple-choice test instrument consisting of 20 questions. This study was analyzed using prerequisite tests in the form of normality and homogeneity tests and hypothesis testing using paired sample t-tests. The results showed that there was a significant influence in the use of the Realistic Mathematics Education approach to the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students on the circumference and area of flat shapes. This is evidenced by the results of the paired sample t-test with a significance level of 0.05 and a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to describe the application of the Discovery Learning model assisted by three-dimensional media in mathematics learning about spatial material, determine the increase in student activity after implementing the Discovery Learning model assisted by three-dimensional media, and determine the increase in student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques are observation, testing and documentation techniques, with research subjects as many as 8 students. Data analysis techniques are descriptive qualitative and quantitative. This research was carried out at SDK Anugerah Haukoto with the results showing that the first cycle of the number of students was 8 people, 5 people (62.5%) completed it. In cycle II the number of students who completed was 8 people with a percentage of 100%. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the application of the Discovery Learning model assisted by three-dimensional media can improve student learning outcomes, especially in learning mathematics regarding geometric material.
