Abstract

This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach through field studies to explore in depth the implementation of product innovation in Qardh Hasan contracts in the form of business capital loans at Islamic financial institutions. The aim of this study is to understand how Qardh Hasan products function not only as interest-free financing solutions but also as tools for empowering micro and small enterprises. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with institution managers, field officers, and beneficiary customers, as well as through documentation and direct observation of the loan distribution process. The findings reveal that innovations in managing Qardh Hasan products—such as community-based approaches, business mentoring, and entrepreneurship training—can enhance the effectiveness of fund utilization and strengthen the sustainability of micro-businesses. The use of data triangulation confirms that the success of this product largely depends on transparency, social proximity, and the institution’s commitment to upholding Sharia values. This study provides a valuable contribution to the development of socially based Sharia financing models for fostering economic self-reliance within communities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the innovation of rahn contract products in the development of gold pawn services in Islamic banking in Indonesia. Akad rahn is a sharia-based short-term financing instrument that provides liquidity solutions for the community without involving elements of riba, gharar, and maisir. As the need for fast, secure, and sharia-compliant financial services increases, innovation in rahn products is of strategic urgency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature study of literature, reports of Islamic financial institutions, and related regulations. The results of the study show that rahn product innovation is carried out through three main aspects: (1) the development of the form of contract, such as the combination of rahn with ijarah or mudharabah; (2) the use of digital technologies such as e-KYC and AI to accelerate services; and (3) the expansion of socio-economic benefits, especially for MSMEs. The study also found that the increase in gold prices has also encouraged the increase in the use of gold pawns as an alternative financial solution. Therefore, Islamic banking needs to continue to develop gold pawn services based on rahn contracts to remain competitive, inclusive, and sharia-compliant.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze product innovations in the Musyarakah contract applied by Islamic financial institutions in Indonesia. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with case studies from several Islamic banks. Data were collected through documentation and interviews with practitioners. The study found that innovations in Musyarakah products are largely driven by the need to enhance competitiveness and address the unique demands of the Indonesian market, particularly among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)  Several banks have modified the classical Musyarakah structure to align with customer preferences and regulatory standards. For instance, some institutions implement tiered profit-sharing mechanisms, structured financing tenures, and integration with digital banking platforms to improve accessibility and monitoring. In addition, hybrid contracts that combine Musyarakah with other contracts, such as Ijarah or Murabahah, are increasingly used to create more flexible and customer-friendly financing solutions. Practitioners interviewed noted that one of the main challenges in implementing Musyarakah-based products is the higher operational and monitoring cost, due to the nature of partnership-based risk-sharing. However, these challenges are being addressed through technological innovation, such as mobile applications that help track business performance and automate profit-sharing calculations. The study concludes that product innovation in Musyarakah financing can enhance the inclusivity and effectiveness of Islamic banking in Indonesia, especially in supporting entrepreneurial sectors. Nevertheless, standardization, regulatory support, and continued investment in human resource capacity remain critical for sustained innovation. Future research may explore the customer perception of Musyarakah products, the impact of these innovations on financial performance, and comparative studies with conventional financing models.

Abstract

This study examines the policy capital structure of Islamic banks in Indonesia by examining the impact of monetary policy transmission and liquidity performance to the capital structure policies of Islamic banks in Indonesia; The research data used in this study are from the monetary performance of Bank Indonesia and the Sharia Banking Statistics of the Financial Services Authority for the monthly observation period from 2017 to 2021. Multiple linear regression is used to analyze data. The study's findings demonstrate that while the exchange rate and the BI Rate have a sizable negative impact on the debt to equity ratio, the transmission process of monetary policy through inflation variable indicators has a positive impact on that ratio. Influencing capital structure policies in Islamic banking is strongly tied to the transmission of monetary policy in inflation targeting and the stability of the rupiah exchange rate. The capital structure policy of Indonesia's Islamic commercial banks has little impact on liquidity performance as measured by the Minimum Statutory Reserves indicators, Bank Indonesia Sharia Certificates, Cash Ratio, and Financing to Deposit Ratio. This is so that debt-increasing liquidity issues may be avoided by maintaining significantly higher liquidity performance by Islamic Commercial Banks.

Abstract

Abstract

The Program for Empowerment and Enhancement by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) significantly supports micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) in Indonesia by providing Sharia-compliant financing such as murabahah, as well as fostering product development, digital marketing, and managerial skill enhancement. This initiative improves access to capital, enhances competitiveness, and promotes financial inclusion for UMKM, especially in remote areas. The role of Islamic banking product innovation is crucial in increasing UMKM access to funding, with banks acting as financial facilitators aligned with Sharia principles like mudharabah, musyarakah, and murabahah, which help UMKM obtain capital without interest and through fair systems. The research findings indicate that support through Sharia-based financing mechanisms and digital technology innovations can improve transparency and service accessibility, although challenges such as limited product understanding and administrative barriers still need to be addressed. Bank Syariah Indonesia exemplifies this approach by offering various financing products, training programs, and digital platforms that facilitate UMKM access to capital and markets. These innovations significantly contribute to UMKM empowerment, community welfare, and sustainable national economic growth. The findings demonstrate the potential of these efforts to strengthen financial inclusion and accelerate Sharia-based economic development in Indonesia.

Abstract

IMBT is an agreement that allows the transfer of propertyownership at the end of the rental period in accordance with the principles of fair luxury and Sharia. The aim of this research is to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors of implementing IMBT inSharia-KPR product innovation, as well as the actual benefits and challenges in Islamic financialinstitutions. The research method used is explanation by collecting data through literature studies, interviews and observations on the implementation of IMB contracts in several Islamic banks. Theresearch results show that the provisions of Bank of Indonesia and DSN-Mui-Fatwa provide a stronglegal basis for the implementation of the IMB Agreement. However, key challenges include realestate value risks, changes in market prices and the need for strict risk management. In addition, social factors and general understanding of IMBT contracts also influence the implementation of thisproduct. With a regulatory framework that supports support and effective risk management, theimplementation of IMBT will increase the integration of Islamic finance and, according to Sharia, provide an alternative for funding.
