Abstract

Each student has different abilities in problem solving, especially in story problems. Haji (1994: 13) suggests that questions that can be used to determine students' abilities in the field of mathematics study can take the form of story problems. The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of students to solve mathematical problems in solving comparative story problems based on Polya's steps. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. Three (3) subjects were taken from students of class VIIA at SMP Negeri 1 Wamena consisting of one high ability student, one medium ability student, and one low ability student. Retrieval of data taken by the test and interview methods. The test used was in the form of a description test of three (3) questions. Based on the research results obtained: the ability to solve mathematical problems in High Ability Students (SKT) can do all the problem solving comparative story problems based on Polya steps, while the Medium Ability Students (SKS) there are two questions that have not fully taken Polya's steps specifically implementing the completion plan and check again. For Low Ability Students (SKR) almost all the questions given cannot be solved using Polya steps.Keywords: Problem solving, Polya steps, comparison problems.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar mahasiswa pada materitrigonometri . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan yang dialami mahasiswadan faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan mahasiswa memahami materi trigonometri. Subjek dalampenelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 1 STKIP Abdi Wacana Wamena Program StudiPendidikan Matematika sebanyak 43 mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitiandeskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan hasil tes dan Kuisioner (angket).Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkanhasil penelitian diperoleh kesulitan mahasiswa dalam memahami materi trigonometri yaitupertama kesulitan konsep yang meliputi (1) mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan memahami soalyang diberikan, (2) Mahasiswa tidak dapat mendefenisikan perbandingan trigonometri sesuaisudut yang diketahui pada gambar, (3) mahasiswa tidak dapat memahami konsep phytagorasuntuk mencari panjang salah satu sisi segitiga yang ditanyakan, mahasiswa tidak memahamipenggunaan tanda negatif dan positif pada kuadran I,II,III dan IV. Kedua kesulitan penggunaanprinsip yang meliputi (1) mahasiswa tidak dapat menentukan rumus sudut berelasi yangdigunakan, (2) mahasiswa tidak dapat menerapkan konsep penggunaan kuadran dalammenyelesaikan soal, (3) Mahasiswa tidak dapat menuliskan rumus phytagoras dengan benardan ketiga kesulitan keterampilan yaitu mahasiswa tetapi tidak melakukan perhitungan dalambentuk akar. Faktor penyebab mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan yaitu faktor intern yang meliputiminat, motivasi, bakat dan intelegensi sebesar 3,94 % dan faktor ekstern yang meliputi tenagapendidik (Dosen) 3,55 %

Abstract

During the Covid-19 outbreak, the use of online learning presented a challenge for educators in the province of Papua. In Papua Province, 99 participants from 12 districts and cities participated in the training session utilizing Google Classroom. Training activities were carried out online using the zoom meeting application. The purpose of this training is to help and equip teachers to carry out online learning using the google classroom application. Participants were taught how to build classes, make announcements, create discussion forums, upload subject matter, assignments, and exam questions, construct quizzes and exam questions using google forms, and were given a simulation of how to utilize google classroom capabilities. The service's results suggest that users truly require training to advance their knowledge and abilities utilizing online learning tools like google classroom. After attending the training, participants have improved their knowledge and abilities in utilizing google classroom, have improved levels of creativity and expertise to create online courses, and have a high degree of satisfaction. Given that the Covid-19 pandemic is not known to have an end date and that the industrial revolution 4.0 and the industrial revolution 5.0 are both upon us, it is imperative that online learning training for teachers be conducted continually.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the subjects that has been taught from the elementary level. However, in reality in the Papua Highlands area thats mathematics is still a problem for both students and teachers. Teachers who are used to teaching using the lecture method make students lazy to take math lessons which results in low math learning outcomes. Mathematics which has an abstract nature requires teachers to be able to concretize it so that it is easily understood by students, considering that students at the basic level are still classified as concrete thinkers. The purpose of implementing this PKM is to provide training for Inpres Tiom Elementary School teachers in creating a pleasant atmosphere for learning mathematics without having to burden students' brains, introduce methods that can be used to teach basic arithmetic, improve student learning outcomes, especially in fostering cooperation between Inpres Tiom Elementary School teacher partners with STKIP Abdi Wacana Wamena. Overcoming the problems above, a solution is provided so that the mathematics lessons being taught become fun lessons for elementary school children, partners are given learning training with the use of visual aids and the application of the jarimatics method. Based on the results of the evaluation of the training activities through the questionnaire provided, it was found that all the teachers who participated in the training strongly agreed with the training activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of students in the Mathematics Education Study Program at STKIP Abdi Wacana Wamena as a basis for formulating appropriate learning strategies to optimize learning outcomes. The research uses a mixed-method approach by adapting the convergent parallel design model. The researcher conducts both quantitative and qualitative research concurrently, or within the same phase of the study, and then combines the results during the overall interpretation. The data collection techniques used in this research include questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data is then processed and analyzed descriptively. The results of the study show that the characteristics of students in the Mathematics Education Study Program at STKIP Abdi Wacana are highly heterogeneous. To accommodate the diversity of student characteristics, various supporting facilities, such as learning infrastructure, are required. The regular use of diverse learning resources, including people, information, software, equipment, models, methods, and environments, will help students build a deeper understanding of their field of study. In this context, lecturers can develop various learning resources that can facilitate the learning process for students with diverse characteristics, thereby optimizing learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menaganalisis kebutuhan mahasiswa terhadap ketersediaan sumber belajar dalam menunjang implementasi Student Centre  Learning (SCL) di Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika STKIP Abdi Wacana Wamena. Jenis dan pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan angket, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa sebanyak 89,16% (74 orang) mahasiswa merasa senang belajar jika menggunakan buku teks, modul, diktat, atau buku ajar untuk memahami materi kuliah. Ketersediaan sumber belajar yang ada masih terbatas dan belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan dimana hanya 42,17% (35 orang) mahasiwa menyakan bahwa ketersediaan sumber belajar sehingga perlu dilakukan upaya peningkatan kuantitas dan mutu terhadap sumber belajar berupa buku teks, diktat, buku ajar, atau ebook yang ada diperpustakaan telah memadai. Oleh karena itu, salah satu upaya yang dapat ditempuh adalah perlu dilakukan pengembangan terhadap bahan ajar dalam menyediakan sumber belajar yang memadai bagi mahasiswa untuk menunjang terlaksananya pembelajaran mandiri dimana lebih berpusat pada mahasiswa (Student Centre Learning). Hal ini didukung dari respon mahasiswa sebesar 71,08% (59 orang) yang menyatakan setuju dan merasa perlu apabila dilakukan pengembangan terhadap bahan ajar. Pengembangan bahan ajar yang memadai perlu dilakukan untuk mendukung pembelajaran mandiri berbasis SCL.

Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan memegang peranan penting dalam upaya peningkatan sumber daya manusia untuk mampu bersaing di tengah-tengah masyarakat dalam menghadapi era globalisasi. Guru merupakan salah satu bagian dari lembaga pendidikan yang memiliki peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa. Sehingga, guru harus memiliki berbagai strategi agar pelajaran yang diberikan dapat disenangi dan dipahami oleh siswa. Penggunaan LKS terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa ini merupakan pembelajaran yang dimana siswa di tuntut untuk lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran.Metode penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ini eksperimen.Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP PGRI Wamena. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah kelas VII a. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar kerja siswa (LKS) dan Teknik dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t dengan hasil 1,278 dan Sehingga diperoleh bahwa < yang berarti Tidak ada pengaruh yang siginifikan dalam penggunaan LKS terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada materi segitiga siswa kelas VII SMP PGRI Wamena yang dapat disebabkan oleh masih sulitnya siswa memahami pelajaran matematikan dan kemampuan awal yang sangat rendah. Berdasarkan hasil tes data peneliti di temukan bahwa hasil belajar pada pre-test dengan skor rata-rata 24,6 dan meningkat pada post-test dengan skor rata-rata 67,5.

Abstract

Tingkat pemahaman siswa dalam memahami materi dengan pemanfaatan media berupa gambar visual maupun alat bantu lainnya melalui metode ceramah yang disampaikan oleh guru dikelas berbeda untuk setiap siswa sehingga dibutuhkan suatu upaya dalam membantu pemahaman masing-masing siswa dengan berbagi pengetahuan yang telah mereka miliki. Tindak lanjut yang dapat diambil dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yakni dengan menerapkan suatu pendekatan melalui model pembelajaran Kooperatif Think Pair Share. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Negeri 1 Wamena dalam mempelajari mata pelajaran matematika pada pokok bahasan volume kubus dan balok. Jenis dan pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, angket, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa upaya meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Pair Share dapat dikatakan berhasil dikarenakan pada setiap tes yang dilaksanakan di setiap siklus, secara umum hasil tes belajar siswa selalu meningkat walaupun masih terdapat siswa yang hasil tes belajarnya tidak mengalami peningkatan. Meskipun ada beberapa siswa yang prestasi belajarnya tidak mengalami peningkatan namun dalam penelitian ini yang menjadi tolak ukurnya adalah adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian ini sudah berhasil dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa kelas VIII-C SMP Negeri 1 Wamena.

Abstract

The persistent disparity in students’ mastery of basic arithmetic concepts presents a critical challenge in mathematics education, particularly in regions with limited pedagogical resources. While traditional approaches often fall short in addressing foundational numerical skills, there is a lack of practical, culturally adaptable methods tailored to early secondary learners. This study introduces the "Matahari" method an acronym for Matematika Hitung Jari as a novel instructional strategy that integrates finger-counting techniques with repetitive practice to enhance arithmetic fluency. The primary aim of this research is to examine the effectiveness of the Matahari method in improving the basic arithmetic skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Biji Sesawi Wamena. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group, the study used random sampling to assign students to experimental and control classes. Validated instruments were utilized for data collection, including tests, questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using One-Way ANOVA and t-tests. The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in the arithmetic performance of the experimental group, with an average gain of 14.31 compared to 5.46 in the control group. Moreover, the method received highly favorable responses from both students (87.35%) and teachers (78.33%). These results suggest that the Matahari method holds substantial pedagogical value in enhancing numeracy skills and offers a culturally relevant solution for addressing foundational learning gaps in mathematics.
