Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of student creativity through the implementation of project-based learning (PBL) in chemistry subjects. Using qualitative methods, data were obtained from interviews, observations, and document analysis related to projects carried out in class. The results showed that PBL improved students' understanding of chemical concepts and triggered students' creativity in designing experiments and solving problems. Students felt more involved and were able to relate chemical theory to practical applications in everyday life. The findings also showed increased student motivation and a more interactive classroom atmosphere. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating a practical approach in science education to form an innovative generation. By implementing PBL, students not only learn theory but also develop critical thinking skills needed to face future challenges.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of mental health disorders among students has become a structural crisis in the education system, especially in Indonesia which still focuses solely on academic achievement. This study aims to conceptually examine the strategic role of schools and teachers in building an emotional safe space through a micro-intervention approach and the integration of social-emotional dimensions into education policies. Using a descriptive qualitative method with literature studies as the main technique, data were collected from various scientific sources and education policies in the last five years, then analyzed using a thematic content analysis approach. The results of the study indicate that schools that ignore emotional well-being tend to worsen students' psychological distress, while teacher micro-interventions such as emotional validation and restorative approaches have proven effective in increasing mental resilience. Lack of teacher training and the absence of psychosocial intervention standards in the curriculum are major obstacles. This study recommends the need for education policy reform that places Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) as a core competency, as well as strengthening synergy between sectors in supporting students' mental health. Thus, schools can function as emotional safe havens that protect and empower the younger generation in facing current and future psychosocial challenges

Abstract

Umbilical cord care is a crucial aspect of newborn health, as improper treatment can delay cord separation and increase the risk of infection. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with the duration of umbilical cord separation among newborns in the working area of Pamenang Public Health Center, Merangin Regency. This was a quantitative analytic study using a cross-sectional design, involving 50 mothers with newborns aged 15–30 days selected through total sampling. The variables examined included umbilical cord care practices, cord moisture, and environmental sanitation conditions. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and direct observations, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of 5%. The results showed significant relationships between the duration of cord separation and the three factors studied: cord care practices (p=0.000), cord moisture (p=0.000), and environmental sanitation (p=0.000). It can be concluded that proper cord care, keeping the cord dry, and maintaining a clean environment contribute to faster umbilical cord separation in newborns.

Abstract

This article examines the role of transformational leadership in improving employee performance in companies in the archipelago. Transformational leadership, which involves the ability of leaders to inspire, motivate, and encourage innovation, is expected to address the unique challenges faced by companies in the region. This study uses a case study method to explore how transformational leaders influence individual motivation, commitment, and performance across various industrial sectors in Indonesia. The results show that transformational leadership significantly contributes to improving employee performance through increased job satisfaction, clear goal setting, and skill development. These findings provide practical insights for managers in the archipelago to adopt leadership styles that can motivate and empower their employees in the face of changing market dynamics.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran inovatif sangat penting untuk meningkatkan minat belajar anak usia dini. Namun, keterampilan guru TK di Kecamatan Talawi dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital, seperti Canva, masih terbatas. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru TK yang tergabung dalam KKG TK Kecamatan Talawi, Kota Sawahlunto, dalam membuat media pembelajaran dan Lembar Kerja Anak (LKA) berbasis Canva. Melalui pelatihan dan workshop, guru diperkenalkan pada aplikasi Canva, tutorial pembuatan media, serta praktik langsung membuat media seperti video cerita, puzzle, storyboard, dan flash card. Evaluasi melalui observasi dan kuisioner menunjukkan bahwa guru berhasil memahami dan menggunakan Canva untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan interaktif. Hasil pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi positif terhadap kualitas pembelajaran di TK dan pendidikan anak usia dini di Kecamatan Talawi. Analisis menunjukkan pelatihan ini efektif meningkatkan kompetensi guru TK dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital untuk pendidikan

Abstract

The development of E-LKPD in Grade VII Mathematics Subject of SMPN 5 Linggo Sari Baganti is motivated by a teacher-oriented learning pattern, as well as limitations in the use of digital teaching materials such as E-LKPD. This research aims to produce valid and practical E-LKPD products so that they can be used in the learning process. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The development model used in this study is a 4D model. The 4D model consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop and disseminate. The results of the development of E-LKPD were obtained through validity and practicality tests. The product validity test was validated by three validators consisting of one material validator, namely a teacher of Mathematics Class VII SMPN 5 Sari Baganti and two media validators, namely lecturers from the Department of Curriculum and Educational Technology, Padang State University. The product practicality test was carried out by conducting an E-LKPD trial for grade VIIB students of SMPN 5 Linggo Sari Baganti. The results of the validity test by a material expert and two media experts obtained an average score of 4.86, 4.86, and 4.8 respectively which was categorized as "very valid". The results of the practicality test obtained an average score of 4.6 with the category "very practical". Thus, it can be concluded that the E-LKPD developed is suitable for use as a teaching material in Mathematics Class VII Junior High School.

Abstract

Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) dan anemia pada ibu hamil masih menjadi masalah gizi masyarakat yang berkontribusi terhadap meningkatnya risiko komplikasi kehamilan, persalinan, serta gangguan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan janin. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Desa Suka Maju, Kecamatan Mestong, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi pada bulan Agustus 2025 dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu hamil dalam pemanfaatan pangan lokal sebagai makanan tambahan (PMT) untuk mencegah Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) dan anemia. Metode kegiatan dilakukan melalui tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, serta monitoring. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan gizi, pelatihan, serta demonstrasi pembuatan PMT berbasis pangan lokal seperti nugget daun kelor, bubur kacang hijau, dan olahan tempe. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test serta observasi keterampilan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan ibu hamil dari kondisi sebelum penyuluhan (33.33% baik) menjadi 84.33% baik setelah penyuluhan. Demikian pula keterampilan ibu hamil meningkat dari 20% terampil sebelum demonstrasi menjadi 86.66% terampil setelah kegiatan. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas ibu hamil untuk menyediakan makanan tambahan bergizi dari bahan lokal.
