Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' mathematical communication skills in Problem Based Learning viewed from students' learning styles. The type of research used is qualitative research supported by observation data, questionnaires and interviews. Validity testing is the credibility test, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study indicate that students' mathematical communication skills viewed from learning styles include visual learning styles (30.4%), auditory (34.8%), and kinesthetic (26.1%) and visual-kinesthetic (8.7%). Mathematical ability indicators on a scale of 0-10 include 1) The ability to express ideas orally, in writing and demonstrate them and describe them visually (8.78), 2) The ability to understand, interpret, and evaluate mathematical ideas orally, in writing and demonstrate them and describe them visually (8.21), 3) The ability to use mathematical terms, notations, and their structures to present ideas describing relationships with situation models (5.30). The appropriate learning style is the key to student success in learning. The use of learning styles that are limited to only one form can cause an imbalance in absorbing information. Therefore, in learning activities, students need to be helped and directed to recognize the learning style that suits them so that learning objectives can be achieved effectively.

Abstract

Minimnya pemahaman masyarakat mengenai dampak negatif  pembangkit listrik yang memanfaatkan bahan bakar fosil dan energi terbarukan menjadi alasan diselenggarakannya kegiatan PPM ini untuk tujuan edukasi, serta mensosialisasikan teknologi yang bernilai manfaat untuki masyarakat berupa instalasi energi surya. Penerangan  Jalan Umum Tenaga Surya (PJUTS). Berdasarkan hasil survei, fasilitas penerangan umum di pintu masuk desa Gondowangi Kecamatan Wagir Kabupaten Malang sangat sedikit sehingga aktivitas masyarakat  pada  malam hari kurang maksimal. Tujuan dari kegiatan PPM ini adalah menyediakan sistem PJU berbasis sel surya untuk mengakomodasi kegiatan Masyarakat pada malam hari. Ada dua hasil yang dicapai dari kegiatan PPM ini, yaitu mengedukasi masyaraat mengenai energi terbarukan dan efisiensi penggunaan energi guna mengurangi dampak buruk lingkungan akibat pembangkit listrik fosil. Kegiatan ini merupakan Pembangunan berkelanjutan. Selain itu, penyediaan lampu PJUTS sangat membantu masyarakat dalam beraktivitas di malam hari dan  menciptakan kondisi yang lebih kondusif di masyarakat.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Raudhatul Madinah merupakan salah satu Ponpes di Kota Batu yang menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis wirausaha. Para santri Ponpes umumnya merupakan yatim piatu yang berasal dari beberapa daerah di Jawa Timur. Para santri selain mengikuti pendidikan umum di SMP/MTs, SMU/MA juga mendapatkan pembelajaran kewirausahaan di Ponpes. Beberapa kegiatan kewirausahaan, antara lain: usaha produksi yoghurt, usaha beternak domba, usaha bercocok tanam sayuran, dan usaha catering. Namun demikian, dalam kegiatan kewiraushaan tersebut masih banyak hal yang perlu ditingkat dan dikembangkan baik dalam aspek kualitas maupun kuantitas produksi. Tujuan pelatihan adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan pada para santi dan pengelolah Ponpes tentang teknik pengemasan produk yoghurt. Dengan pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan dan mengembangkan kualitas dan kuantitas pengemasan produk yoghurt. Materi pelatihan meliputi, antara lain: pemilihan jenis kemasan, teknik pengemasan, teknik penyimpanan dan penanganan kemasan. Sedangkan metode pelatihan adalah ceramah/diskusi, praktek pengemasan, dan pendampingan/konsultasi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa para peserta pelatihan (santri dan pengelolah Ponpes) mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilannya dalam mengemas produk yoghurt, yang ditandai dengan pemilihan dan cara penanganan kemasan serta cara mengemasi produk yoghurt yang baik dan benar pada saat praktek. Disamping itu terdapat peningjkatan semangat, antusias, dan keinginan tahuan serta harapan – harapan dari peserta.

Abstract

The prevalent manual method of replacing ceiling lamps, which often involves climbing on unstable furniture, poses significant safety risks, including potential falls, electrocution, and other severe injuries. This common practice underscores an urgent need for safer and more efficient lamp maintenance solutions in both domestic and commercial settings. This research aims to mitigate these inherent dangers by developing and upgrading conventional ceiling lamp changers into a semi-automatic system. The primary objectives are to enhance the safety, speed, and overall ease of the lamp replacement process, thereby effectively minimizing the risk of user injury. The proposed methodology involves designing a semi-automatic ceiling lamp changer by integrating a control switch mechanism that enables remote rotation of the lamp holder. This innovative approach will facilitate the safe removal and installation of lamps without direct manual contact or the necessity of climbing. Concurrently, comprehensive product cost planning and market-driven pricing strategies will be conducted to ensure the device’s affordability and widespread community acceptance. The successful development of this semi-automatic ceiling lamp changer is anticipated to provide a significantly safer, faster, and more convenient alternative for lamp replacement. This remote-operated design is expected to substantially reduce injury incidents associated with current manual methods. By ensuring affordability and market compatibility, this innovation aims to achieve broad community adoption, ultimately contributing to safer environments for lamp maintenance.

Abstract

Engaging and interactive learning media are crucial in enhancing students’ understanding of the material presented by the teacher. Learning at SDN Lesanpuro 3 still employs a teacher-centered approach characterized by limited student interaction and minimal use of media. Community service activities aim to enhance teachers’ skills in creating innovative teaching materials by utilizing Canva media to foster a pleasant learning atmosphere. The training participants were 14 teachers from SDN Lesanpuro 3 Malang, who underwent training using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. This method was technically carried out through seminars (theory-based), demonstrations, and direct practice, where the role of lecturers and students facilitated teacher empowerment. The results of community service activities (PPM) enhance teachers’ understanding of creating innovative teaching materials by utilizing Canva media effectively. This community service activity enhanced teachers’ abilities in using Canva for designing interactive teaching materials. Evaluation before and after the training showed a positive response, with 85.7% of teachers demonstrating improved ability to create interactive content.

Abstract

Masjid adalah tempat ibadah bagi umat Muslim, yang digunakan untuk melaksanakan berbagai aktivitas keagamaan, terutama salat (sholat) berjamaah. Selain sebagai tempat beribadah, masjid juga sering berfungsi sebagai pusat kegiatan sosial, pendidikan, dan dakwah dalam komunitas Muslim. Di dalam masjid, umat Muslim melaksanakan ibadah wajib seperti salat lima waktu, salat Jumat, serta kegiatan keagamaan lainnya seperti pengajian, ceramah, dan acara sosial. Secara umum, masjid bukan hanya tempat ibadah, tetapi juga pusat kebersamaan, penguatan iman, serta penyebaran ilmu dan ajaran agama Islam dalam masyarakat. Wilayah RT 44 RW 10, Kelurahan Kepuharjo, Kecamatan Karangploso, Kabupaten Malang sedang melakukan pembangunan masjid. Dalam proses finalisasi pembangunan dibutuhkan sistem instalasi audio yang baik dan berkualitas. Metode yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu melakukan observasi dan analisis spesifikasi pada peralatan sound sistem yang sudah terpasang. Hasil dari analisis sistem audio tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan sistem audio untuk sound dalam ruangan. Pemasangan audio memungkinkan pengurus masjid untuk menyampaikan pengumuman dan informasi dengan jelas kepada jamaah, serta memfasilitasi komunikasi yang lebih baik selama berbagai kegiatan di masjid. Sehingga dengan sistem tata suara dan instalasi audio di masjid bukan hanya meningkatkan kenyamanan ibadah, tetapi juga memastikan komunikasi yang lancar dan pengalaman spiritual yang lebih baik bagi seluruh jamaah.

Abstract

Learning in class found that lecturers did not give students the opportunity to think creatively in solving math problems. Learning is still centered on the teacher so that communication is still one-way resulting in teacher dominance. The research objective resulted in the implementation of the case method in mathematics learning to improve the creative thinking skills of D4 Electronics Engineering students in solving mathematical problems. This type of research is experimental by using data collection documentation, questionnaires, observations and tests. The research was conducted in class 1B in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year with a total of 24 students discussing the Linear Equation System material. Data analysis used normality test, homogeneity test, completeness test, comparative test, and n-gain test. The results showed that the results of the validation of the research instrument were 4.11 in the good category. Individual completeness tests meet the minimum completeness criteria, students' creative thinking skills in case method group are higher (81.56) than expository learning (70.05). N-gain score for creative thinking test of 0.363 which is in the medium category.Keywords: case method, system of linear equations, creative thinking ability.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i4.pp1423-1434
