Abstract

The development of tourism villages is a key strategy for boosting rural economies in Indonesia, but managing these ventures often faces challenges, particularly in establishing systematized and measurable practices. This study investigates the implementation of an automated managerial system in the Parsingguran II Tourism Village, using a qualitative experimental approach. The research explores how the system influences business operations and stakeholder engagement, focusing on contextual impacts rather than quantitative measures. Through intervention-based experimentation and case studies, the findings indicate that the automated system improves managerial efficiency and fosters a more cohesive stakeholder environment. Recommendations are made for scaling this approach to other rural tourism areas, enhancing sustainability and operational effectiveness.

Technological developments have colored every aspect of life in various age levels. The age group of children belongs to a group that is vulnerable to the development of these technologies, especially the use of gadgets. Rational and age-appropriate gadget usage is one way to overcome the impact of using gadgets. This community service program aims to provide information and skills on how to deal with or handle the use of gadgets for children. This program is carried out with the delivery of 4 (four) materials through lectures, focus group discussions, and role play. Four material presented are: introduction to children's growth and development, the impact of gadgets, how to recognize the behavior of children who are addicted to gadgets, and design activities to make children avoid gadgets. The results of data analysis of the tests before and after the implementation of the program showed information about child growth and development which contributed 21.66% in increasing parents 'and teachers' knowledge of their children's development, information about the dangers of gadgets contributed 40.75% in increasing the knowledge of parents and teachers, and information about positive parenting has a very significant role of 46.05% in increasing the knowledge of parents and teachers towards positive parenting.

Abstract

Having to stay at home and disconnected from their social world during the Covid-19 lockdown is stressful for many people, including students. The current paper reports the application of a deep breathing relaxation technique among students from the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Sumatera Utara, to regulate their stress levels at home. Twenty-five students participated in this intervention program. We trained them in a deep breathing relaxation technique and asked them to practice the technique twice a day, in the morning and the evening. We followed their progress for five consecutive days, in which participants filled a stress diary twice a day, in the morning and the evening. Based on the diary, a feedback by a psychologist was sent to each individual participant the next day. We assessed the effectiveness of the intervention program by comparing the students' perceived stress at the pre-intervention phase compared to their stress level at the post-intervention phase. The results showed a significant and meaningful impact of the intervention program, in which students reported lower perceived stress at the post-intervention compared to the pre-intervention phase.
