Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing consumer purchase intentions in the informal small retail sector in developing countries. Although informal retail businesses play an important role in emerging economies, research on consumer purchase intentions at small retailers is limited. In this study, we used secondary data from 281 respondents and conducted a multi-group analysis based on gender using SmartPLS. The results showed that consumer trust did not have a significant influence on purchase intention, while perceived value turned out to have a significant positive influence on purchase intention. In addition, the perceived value can act as a full mediation between consumer trust in purchase intention. Multi-group analysis revealed gender differences in the influence of perceived value on purchase intention. The practical implication of the study is that small retailers need to consider the importance of creating value for consumers in their marketing strategies, as well as understand how gender differences can affect consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of financial ratios—Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Third Party Funds (DPK), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Non-Performing Loans (NPL)—on the financial performance of banking companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) during the post-COVID-19 recovery period (2021–2023). The research adopts a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing multiple linear regression analysis on data collected from banks meeting specific criteria within the study period. The findings reveal that BOPO significantly and negatively affects Return on Assets (ROA), highlighting operational inefficiencies that erode profitability. CAR also exhibits a negative impact, suggesting that the emphasis on regulatory compliance and capital adequacy post-pandemic may hinder credit expansion and productive investment. Conversely, DPK and NPL show no significant influence on ROA, attributed to idle funds and effective credit risk mitigation measures. While indicative of efficient fund distribution, LDR negatively affects ROA due to heightened credit risk and operational costs during the economic recovery. This study contributes to the understanding of banking sector dynamics in Indonesia during a critical recovery phase, providing insights into optimizing financial performance through improved operational efficiency and strategic fund allocation. The results highlight the importance of balancing regulatory compliance, risk management, and profitability in the evolving economic landscape.

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of role stressors consisting of role conflict, role ambiguity, and role overload on negative affect among civil servants in Local Government “X” after bureaucratic simplification and role equalization. The study further explored the moderating role of proactive personality in this relationship. A survey of 70 civil servants, selected using proportional stratified random sampling, provided the primary data, which were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results revealed that all three role stressors significantly contributed to negative affect. Proactive personality showed a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between role overload and negative affect (β = 0.122, p < 0.05), indicating that proactive individuals may experience increased negative emotions when faced with excessive workload. However, proactive personality did not moderate the effects of role conflict and role ambiguity on negative affect. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions to address workload-related stress in bureaucratic transformation.

Abstract

Abstract

Amid the uncertainty of the presidential election, investors' emotions, beliefs, and perceptions are affected, resulting in behavioral biases in decision making such as herding behavior. This study aims to determine whether the 2024 Presidential Election has an effect on the herding behavior of investors in the Indonesian capital market. By looking at the relationship between Cross Sectional Absolute Deviation (CSAD) and market returns 1 month before and after the presidential election, herding behavior in the stock market can be determined. The population in this study are companies listed on the LQ45 index in 2024 and uses the purposive sampling technique and there are 35 companies will then be used as samples in this study. This study uses quantile regression analysis because herding detection is carried out in different market conditions in which these conditions are normal market, stress market and high returns market. The results of this study indicate that the presidential election has an effect on the herding behavior of investors in the Indonesian stock market, both before and after the presidential election.

Abstract

In response to the challenges of digital transformation in higher education, this study examines the influence of workload, work motivation, and creativity on lecturer performance in the Management Department of Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta. Amid increasing demands on academic staff to fulfill the Tri Dharma of Higher Education—teaching, research, and community service—understanding key performance drivers becomes crucial. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from all 55 lecturers via a census sampling method. Primary data sources included questionnaires, interviews, and observations, while secondary data were drawn from institutional records. The variables were operationalized using validated indicators and measured on a five-point Likert scale. Validity and reliability tests confirmed acceptable psychometric properties. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that workload, motivation, and creativity each exert a significant positive effect on lecturer performance (p < 0.05). Notably, the task-related workload indicator received the lowest average score, indicating challenges in balancing academic responsibilities. These findings highlight the importance of institutional interventions such as proportional task distribution, administrative support, and time management training to improve faculty outcomes. The study underscores the necessity for strategic human capital development that supports innovation, engagement, and sustainable academic performance in the digital era.

Abstract

This study uses a quantitative approach to examine the factors influencing financial distress among companies in the Property Sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2014 to 2023. The research focuses on four key financial ratios: Return on Equity (ROE), Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Assets Ratio (DTA), and Total Assets Turnover (TATO), with inflation included as a moderating variable. A purposive sampling method was used to select 36 companies for the study. Survival analysis was conducted using STATA software to analyzed the data. The results reveal that ROE has a significant negative effect on financial distress, indicating that higher ROE reduces the likelihood of financial distress. In contrast, CR has a significant positive effect, suggesting that a higher current ratio is associated with increased financial distress. DTA and TATO were found to have no significant impact on financial distress. Additionally, inflation was found to moderate the relationship between ROE and financial distress, worsening financial distress when ROE is poorly managed. However, inflation does not significantly affect CR, DTA, or TATO. These findings emphasize the importance of efficient financial management, particularly concerning ROE, and the role of inflation in influencing financial distress.
