Abstract

Brown rice contains a number of bioactive components, such as pigments and flavonoids, which act as antioxidant. Plants widely distribute polar flavonoid compounds, which actively function as antioxidant. Antioxidants are substances that can significantly inhibit or prevent the oxidation of the substrate. The body requires antioxidants to defend itself against attacks by free radicals. The goal of this study was to find the best temperature and time for the Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction (UAE) method to measure the antioxidant activity and flavonoids in brown rice extract using UV-Visible spectrophotometry. The extract was prepared using the UAE method with 96% ethanol solvent at 45°C and 55°C for 20–30 minutes. Data obtained was statistically analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test. The study found that brown rice extracted with 96% ethanol at 45°C for 20 minutes produced 4.089 mg QE (Quercetin Equivalent)/g of total flavonoids. The antioxidant activity was the lowest, with an IC50 value of 381.102 ppm. The statistical analysis using the one-way ANOVA test revealed that there were no differences in temperature or time optimization that affected the levels of flavonoids and antioxidants. It can be concluded that the 96% ethanol extract of brown rice has the best flavonoid and antioxidant content. The best treatment was at 45°C and 20 minutes of extraction time.

Abstract

Human skin has a natural protection system against the harmful effects of sunlight by thickening the stratum, corneum, and skin pigmentation. Some plants are known to have benefits that can be used as natural ingredients to protect the skin from the adverse effects of sunlight. Plants that have secondary metabolites as sunscreen activity are temu mango rhizome (Curcuma mangga Valeton & Zijp). Secondary metabolite compounds contained in the mango meeting include flavonoid compounds, phenolics, tannins, essential oils which are known to function as sunscreens. This study aims to determine the SPF value of temu mango rhizome (Curcuma mangga Valeton & Zijp) using various solvents, namely ethanol 50%, 70%, and 96%. Calculation of the SPF value using the Mansur method. The results showed that the SPF value produced by the 50% ethanol extract of temu mango rhizome (Curcuma mangga Valeton & Zijp) with concentrations of 1250 ppm, 2500 ppm, 3750 ppm, 5000 ppm were 9.0613; 12,4133; 10.6027; 17,1233 with an SPF value of 12,3001 including the category of maximum protection. The SPF value produced by the 70% ethanol extract of temu mango (Curcuma mangga Valeton & Zijp) with the same concentration was 14.1767, respectively; 13.4787; 17,699; 17.4507 with an SPF value of 15.7013 including the ultra protection category. The SPF values ​​produced by the 96% ethanol extract of temu mango rhizome (Curcuma mangga Valeton & Zijp) with the same concentration were 14,892, respectively; 17.3617; 16.9197; 16,972 with an SPF value of 16,5363 including ultra protection category.

Abstract

Masalah stunting di Indonesia merupakan salah satu ancaman yang serius dan memerlukan penanganan yang tepat. Para pemerintah sudah menanggulangi terjadinya stunting pada balita di Indonesia dengan menargetkan program penurunan stunting menjadi 14% pada tahun 2024 mendatang. Tujuan: Setelah diberikan pendidikan kesehatan selama 30 menit, diharapkan peserta penyuluhan dapat memahami dan mengerti tentang stunting dan cara mengatasinya. Metode: ceramah, diskusi, tanya jawab mengenai Pencegahan Stunting pada Balita. Hasil : Pendidikan Kesehatan dengan melakukan penyuluhan merupakan intervensi yang tepat dilakukan pada orang tua balita karena akan memberikan pola pikir yang baik yang berdampak pada setiap pengambilan keputusan dan dalam berperilaku. Pembahasan: Audien yang hadir dalam acara ini ada 20 orang anak balita beserta orang tuanya, audien tampak responsif dan aktif dalam berdiskusi saat penyuluhan berlangsung. Simpulan: Ada perbedaan hasil pre test dan post test jawaban pertanyaan peserta mengenai pengertian stunting, penyebab stunting, tanda dan gejala stunting, dampak stunting, pencegahan stunting.

Abstract

Worms are still a health problem in Indonesian with a general prevalence that is still very high, varying between 2.5% - 62%. These worms can result in decreased health, nutrition, intelligence and productivity. Worms cause loss of carbohydrates and protein as well as blood loss, thereby reducing the quality of human resources. One way to control worms is by giving mass medication to prevent worms in vulnerable groups to stop the spread of worm eggs from suffers to the surrounding environment, in which case the drug albendazole is given. The method used to overcome this problem is by providing counselling and administering the drug albendazole at the RA Muslimat NU Tarbiyatul Athfal Kindergarten level. A total of 125 children received counselling and distribution of the drug albendazole. The result and conclusions obtained by administering worm medicine were appropriate because all children each received 1 tablet of albendazole.

Abstract

Anti Aging atau  penuaan kulit yang lebih cepat dari waktunya, bisa terjadi pada siapa saja. Proses penuaan dini ini banyak terjadi pada manusia yang berada di daerah beriklim tropis dengan intensitas matahari paparan sinar matahari yang tinggi. Proses Anti Aging ini banyak terjadi dialami Ketika usia dewasa sekitar usia 30-an. Di Indonesia hampir 57% wanita sudah menyadari tanda penuaan dini diusia 25 tahun. Proses penuaan dini biasanya ditandai dengan munculnya garis halus atau keriput wajah. Faktor terjadi anti Aging ini terjadi meliputi faktor keturunan, kejiwaan, dan daya tahan tubuh dan paparan sinar ultraviolet (UV). Karena hal inilah diperlukan pencarian senyawa “Anti Aging” dari bahan alam. Dipesisir laut Jepara terdapat rumput laut yaitu rumput laut coklat (Sargassum polycystum) yang kandungan flavonoid. Dimana  senyawa yang yang bertanggung jawab sebagai “Anti Aging”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas anti aging dari fraksi n-heksan, etil asetat, butanol, air dari ekstrak etanol 60 % rumput laut coklat. Aktivitas anti aging dilihat dari kemampuan antioksidan dan tabir surya. Semakin besar aktivitas antioksidan maka semakin besar nilai SPF nya. Rumput laut coklat di ekstraksi dengan metode ultasonic assisted extraction  (UAE) kemudian dilakukan fraksinasi cair-cair dengan tingkat kepolaran pelarut yang berbeda yaitu n-heksan, etil asetat, butanol dan air. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji bioaktivitas antioksidan dan tabir surya pada fraksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan fraksi yang terbaik dan poten aktivitas anti aging adalah fraksi etil asetat dengan aktivitas antioksidan IC50 8.59, Aktivitas Tabir Surya dilihat nilai SPF 18.60; % eritema 0.541 dan % pigmentasi 4.567 termasuk kategori Proteksi Ultra-Sunblock

Abstract

Penyakit infeksi masih banyak diderita oleh penduduk negara berkembang, termasuk Indonesia yang disebabkan karena adanya bakteri yang tumbuh seperti bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengatasi penyakit infeksi dilakukan dengan bahan alam yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Biji buah durian montong merupakan tanaman yang memiliki kandungan senyawa aktif seperti flavonoid, tanin, dan saponin yang berfungsi sebagai antibakteri. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak biji durian montong terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus pada sediaan sabun cair. Metode: Ekstrak biji durian montong diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan sabun cair dengan variasi perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak biji durian montong (Durio zibethinus Murr) F0 (basis), F1 (3,1%), F2 (7,1%) dan F3 (11,1%). Sediaan sabun cair diuji sifat fisik seperti uji organoleptic, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji tinggi busa dan uji iritasi, selanjutnya dilakukan uji antibakteri untuk mengetahui diameter zona hambat pada bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan menggunakan metode sumuran. Hasil: penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak biji durian montong pada sabun cair mempengaruhi uji organoleptik dan pH. Tetapi tidak mempengaruhi uji homogenitas, tinggi busa dan iritasi. Kesimpulan: semakin besar konsentrasi ekstrak biji durian montong yang diberikan pada formulasi sabun cair maka semakin besar pula diameter zona hambat yang akan dihasilkan

Abstract

Red seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii) or Eucheuma cottonii is one of seaweed that is widely cultivated by people in Jepara. Several studies stated that the seaweed has a lot of secondary metabolite content, one of them is Phenolic. It is known that these metabolites have potential to be used as sunscreen.The riserch is experimental and purpose of this study was to analyze secondary metabolite compounds and the sunscreen potential of red seaweed (Kappaphycus alvarezii) with solvent variations (70% ethanol, ethyl acetate and N-Hexane) using the Ultrasound Assisted Extraction (UAE) method. The average of total phenol content of 70% ethanol extract was 8.6%; ethyl acetate extract was 3.25% and N-Hexane extract was 5.23%. Sunscreen activity of red seaweed extract (Kappaphycus alvarezii) based on the highest SPF value in 70% ethanol extract with a concentration of 1000 ppm was 7.72 (extra protection). The best erythema transmission percentage (%Te) value in 70% ethanol extract with a concentration of 1000 ppm was 1.457% (extra protection). The best pigmentation transmission percentage (%Tp) value in 70% ethanol extract with a concentration of 1000 ppm is 3.21% (sunblock).
