The objectives of the research are to know how to implement of CORE model of learning in teaching reading comprehension ability and to find out the improvement of students in reading comprehension by using CORE model of learning. The subject of the study was the second grade students of SMPN 1 Jatibarang, Indramayu which consists of 31 students. The data of this research was collected by giving the pre-test and post-test. The data analyzed using statistical formula percentage technique. The result of the data analysis could be seen from the result of the post-test both in cycle 1 and cycle 2. The mean of the pre-test was 64.27, whereas the mean of post-test of cycle 1 was 75.21 while the mean of the post test of cycle 2 was 79.06. It indicated that the post-test score in cycle 2 is higher than in cycle 1. So, it could be concluded that the students who were taught by using CORE model of learning have a better achievements than before. TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) training is a necessity for students in Islamic boarding schools, especially for final year students who will take the TOEFL test as one of the requirements for graduation or when entering the world of work. One of the pesantrens that is used as a partner is Pesantren Al-Mashduqie, Kamal, Bangkalan. The main problem faced by the partner is the lack of understanding related to TOEFL so that the TOEFL scores of students in the AlMashduqie Islamic Boarding School are still not in line with the expected target. Therefore, community service activities carried out by the academic community in the English Literature Study Program need to be carried out as a form of practicing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this activity is to increase the TOEFL score of students in the Al-Mashduqie Islamic Boarding School in Bangkalan Regency. The dedication method used during the training activities are the lecture method, question and answer, and practice working on TOEFL questions in accordance with the material that has been prepared by the presenters. The results of the community service activities show that there is an increase in the TOEFL score of students in Al-Mashduqie Islamic Boarding School environment, Kamal, Bangkalan

This study examines how turn construction talks and the conversational interaction movements that have been distributed by Cirebon Tarling drama actors that are in the form of conversation. Analysis of identity, motivation, and ideology complements this analysis to identify identity, motivation, and ideology which are the backgrounds for the turn construction of speech and the movement of conversation interactions. Data was obtained from two sources, namely first, the Cirebon Tarling drama entitled “Gila Harta Warisan” and “Mencari Wali Sejati”. The initial data is in the form of video. Then the researcher listens and looks at it and changes it into a conversation transcript. The method that used is descriptive method. Techniques used through transcription, recording, collection, reduction, and analyzing. The results of the study show the following: Identified turn taking construction and the construction of interactional moves in the Cirebon regional languages ??are not much different from English. It was identified that there were participants who started the conversation with small talk or older siblings. A person's identity plays an important role in acting speech. Identity influences the speech of the speaker. Motivation is the impulse of someone in acting well or acting in speech. In this study motivation becomes a person's background in speaking. Ideology is a person's principle in acting behavior and acting speech. The relation between the identity, motivation, and ideology of participants is very related. keywords: turn taking; interactional moves; identity; motivation; ideology.

Bahasa Inggris memiliki peran penting di dunia internasional sebagai media komunikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melatih kemampuan bahasa Inggris bagi santri di lingkungan Pesantren Al-Mashduqie. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi dan ceramah di lingkungan Pesantren Al-Mashduqie di Kabupaten Bangkalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan bahasa Inggris santri di ligkungan Pesantren Al-Mashduqie mengalami kemajuan. Hal ini tampak pada meliputi santri dapat memahami materi yang sudah diajarkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari di lingkungan pesantren. Hambatan dalam pelatihan bahasa Inggris yaitu persiapan waktu dan bahaan ajar yang berkaitan dengan materi yang disampaikan. Oleh karena itu, tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat berusaha untuk memberikan materi kepada santri dengan tepat waktu serta materi yang diberikan sesuai dengan tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat.

In this era.There are many different types of media that are widely used in English language learning. One is the Talk and Chill card. This media can help Students' in improving their speaking skills.The aim of this research paper is to know whether the students' speaking skills have improved significantly. Communication skills using flashcards. Class X, with a total of 24 students, was selected as a sample for this study. This pre-test study uses a pre-test and a post-test. These exams take the form of oral exams. Data from these tests are calculated using statistical models. Studies have shown that students' speaking skills improve significantly after receiving treatment. Therefore, talk and chill cards can be used as a different medium to teach English, especially speaking skills, in EFL classrooms.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the types and factors of speech errors that uttered by character Dory in “Finding Dory” movie. This study used descriptive qualitative approach. The source of the data is “Finding Dory” movie. Furthermore, the data was collected through watched and transcribed the utterances of Dory that indicate the speech errors. In total there are 90 data of speech errors that identified and classified based on Clark & Clark’s (1977) theory into eight types. Those are predominantly categorized as repeats with total 30 data, followed by silent pauses with 25 data, filled pause with 12 data, interjection with 9 data, unretraced false starts 5 data, retraced false starts 4 data, stutters 3 data, and correction with 2 data. The speech error in Dory’s utterances is mostly influenced by her cognitive cognition.

The Madurese language is slowly shifting because many young people prefer Indonesian, Arabic, or English in school and daily life. However, pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) still play an important role in keeping the Madurese language alive. This study examines how santri (students) at Pesantren Al-Hikam, Bangkalan maintain the Madurese language by looking at their opinions, challenges, and solutions. The research used a qualitative method with questionnaires (75 students) and interviews with six santri and two ustadzah (female religious teachers). The analysis was supported by theories of language attitude (Holmes, 2013), domains of use and language maintenance (Fishman, 1991; 1997), diglossia (Berger, 1990), and social networks (Milroy, 1992). Results show that santri are proud to use Madurese and see it as part of their identity. They use it in family, friendship, and religious settings, but face problems with polite speech levels like engghi bhunten (high speech level means yes-no), peer pressure, and the lower prestige of Madurese compared to other languages. To solve this, pesantren rules, peer support, and personal efforts help them keep using Madurese. The study shows that pesantren are not only for religion and education but also help protect local language and culture.

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) di sekolah RA Bakti, Telang untuk anak kelompok A ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk memberikan pengajaran bahasa Inggris melalui lirik lagu. Sebuah kegiatan yang dilaksanakan oleh civitas akademika di Program Studi Sastra Inggris Universitas Trunojoyo Madura ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk berbagi pengalaman dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk anak-anak di RA Bakti, Telang. Kegiatan yang dikemas dalam bentuk permainan dan penggunaan media lirik lagu ini diharapkan mampu memberikan pemahaman kepada anak-anak kelompok A sebagai subjek dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Maret 2023 ini. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan di sebuah sekolah di Telang, Kamal, Bangkalan yang dikhususkan untuk anak-anak kelompok A di RA Bakti. Hasil dari kegiatan ini memberikan gambaran bahwa anak-anak kelompok A di RA Bakti Kamal sangat antusias dan semangat untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Metode kegiatan dengan menggunakan lirik lagu mampu menarik minat siswa untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari ketertarikan anak-anak untuk mengikuti setiap aktivitas yang diberikan selama kegiatan PKM berlangsung. Ada beberapa lirik lagu yang digunakan selama kegiatan PKM, yaitu lagu ABC Song, Baby Shark, Five Little Ducks, If Youâ€™are Happy, Clap Your hands, dan Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Toes. Harapan dari adanya kegiatan PKM ini adalah adanya peningkatan kemampuan dalam mempelajari bahasa Inggris bagi anak-anak kelompok A di RA Bakti,Telang, Kamal.Kata Kunci : Lirik Lagu, Kelompok A, RA Bakti
