Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of infrastructure, labor costs, market size, and governance on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Indonesia during the 2016–2017 period. Using a quantitative approach and annual secondary data, multiple linear regression analysis was conducted through SPSS 26. The findings indicate that while infrastructure and governance demonstrated relatively stable conditions, labor costs significantly fluctuated and appeared to have a potential inverse relationship with FDI inflows. However, the statistical significance during this period was limited due to the small data sample, suggesting the need for further longitudinal data to draw firmer conclusions. The analysis provides an early insight into how these structural factors might shape FDI performance in the post-global financial recovery phase.

Abstract: Building Lighting Intensity Performance: Case Study of Malang Creative Center. This research aims to determine the light intensity in the Malang Creative Center building and provide suggestions for solutions to rooms that function as places for creative economy activities with less light intensity. Creative activities require lighting to support user productivity in carrying out activities in buildings (Le et al., 2022; Matthew & Nico, 2023). Lighting in a building is influenced by several factors, including the size of the openings, the orientation of the openings, the use of materials and color in the space. The aim of this research is to find out and identify the intensity of light in several spaces which are a place for creative actors to carry out activities at the Malang Creative Center. By using a comparative method, light intensity data in several research object rooms will be compared with standard data or ideal light intensity for rooms that function as work spaces. Field measurement data was obtained from a direct measurement process carried out longitudinally from 09.00-15.00 WIB, while standard data or ideal light intensity for work spaces was obtained from literature studies. From the research process carried out, it was found that there was one room whose light intensity did not meet the standards starting at 09.00-15.00 WIB, while the other 3 rooms showed ideal values in the time range 09.00-13.00, but at 13.00-15.00 these rooms also show numbers that are not ideal.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and their impact on employment opportunities and income inequality in Java Island during the period 2017–2019. Using multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS software, the study examines the influence of seven independent variables: employment rate, Gini index, credit access, digitalization, infrastructure, education programs, and policy index on MSME growth as the dependent variable. The results reveal that the Gini index and education programs have a significant negative effect on MSME growth, while the policy index shows a significant positive effect. Other variables were found to be statistically insignificant, although high Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) values indicate potential multicollinearity. These findings suggest that income inequality and government policy effectiveness are critical determinants of MSME development. Policy implications emphasize the need for targeted interventions to reduce inequality, improve the relevance of entrepreneurship education, and maintain consistent regional policies to strengthen MSMEs' contributions to job creation and income equality in Indonesia.

Abstract

Pricing practices of foreign companies in Indonesia have cost the country trillions of rupiah. This transfer pricing practice is carried out with the aim of outsmarting the amount of profit so that tax payments and dividend distribution are reduced. Second, inflating profits to polish (window-dressing) financial reports, besides that foreign companies take advantage of fiscal facilities, such as tax reductions (tax allowances), to avoid paying taxes after the tax allowance expires, transfer pricing practices are still being carried out in Indonesia Research This study aims to analyze the influence, mechanism bonuses, and audit quality on transfer pricing decisions. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling method. The type of data collected is primary data by collecting data through observation and interviews. Methods of data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis and linear logistic analysis. The results of this study indicate that the bonus mechanism variable and audit quality variable have a positive and significant effect on transfer pricing decisions.

Abstract

China's significant economic development and military modernization in the last few decades has resulted in a change in the global geopolitical situation in the Indo Pacific Region. China is increasingly aggressive in spreading its influence and one of the steps taken by China is the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project. In carrying out BRI through maritime routes, China has made the South China Sea the main route. On the basis of the Nine-Dashed Line, China is aggressively asserting its control claims in the South China Sea. This made the situation in the South China Sea heat up due to protests from several countries. As one of the countries in the Indo Pacific Region, Australia, by using a competitive intelligence mechanism, views what China has done as a threat to its national security, as written in the National Defense: Defense Strategic Review 2023 report. Therefore, Australia must create a defense strategy to mitigate this threat. The author conducted this research using qualitative methods by collecting data from observation, document study, and literature study. This study aims to determine the role of competitive intelligence in the framework of forming a defense strategy carried out by Australia as a mitigation measure against China's defense advances and China's influence spread in the Indo Pacific Region.

Abstract

The capital market sector is one area of economic activity that is expected to grow significantly following the adoption of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). As a result, integrating capital market activity in the ASEAN area must be a top priority in AEC implementation. The essential criterion for creating a seamless flow of cash and investment is the integration of ASEAN countries' capital markets. The total worth of all outstanding shares based on their normal closing price is reflected in the stock market capitalisation. A rise in the value of market capitalization indicates that the capital market is expanding. Capital flows into and out of the capital market are thought to have altered the value of foreign exchange reserves. Foreign capital market investment contributes to a balanced balance of payments. Foreign capital not only serves to cover the deficit in domestic capital that domestic savings cannot fill, but it also helps to fill the emptiness in the foreign exchange gap through asset sales.
