Abstract

Masjid Nur Ikhlas di Desa Buluh Cina, Kecamatan Siak Hulu, Kabupaten Kampar memiliki masalah ketersediaan air bersih. Sumber air dari sumur gali terkontaminasi kadar logam yang tinggi seperti besi (Fe) dan mangan (Mn)). Kualitas air tersebut tidak memenuhi standar air bersih yang ditetapkan oleh Kementerian Kesehatan RI melalui PERMENKES No.55/MENKES/PER/II/2023. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan solusi yang efektif untuk mengatasi permasalahan penyediaan air bersih di Masjid Nur Ikhlas Desa Buluh Cina. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, telah dipasang sistem penyaring air dengan kapasitas penampungan 1000 liter oleh tim Pengabdian Dosen Teknik Mesin Universitas Riau di Desa Buluh Cina. Hasil uji coba dan uji kualitas air dari air yang telah dimurnikan menunjukkan bahwa air telah memenuhi standar kualitas air bersih. Solusi ini telah berhasil mengatasi masalah ketersediaan air bersih di Masjid Nur Ikhlas, selain itu solusi ini juga memberikan dampak positif bagi warga sekitar dan memastikan air yang digunakan aman dan memenuhi syarat kesehatan.

Abstract

SDN 92 Pekanbaru berlokasi di Jl. Patin No. 80 Kelurahan Umban Sari, Kecamatan Rumbai, Kota Pekanbaru. Pengelola sekolah menghadapi permasalahan ketersediaan air bersih dan sehat sesuai persyaratan kualitas air bersih yang distandarkan PERMENKES No.416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990. Sumber air pada SDN 92 Pekanbaru diperoleh dari sumur bor, namun kondisi air yang digunakan untuk keperluan di kamar mandi siswa dan guru saat ini masih kurang sehat. Air yang digunakan mengandung besi, hal ini dapat ditunjukkan dari menempelnya karat pada bak penampung air. Solusi yang dapat ditawarkan adalah menggunakan proses penyaringan. Penyaringan dilakukan menggunakan media berpori berupa pasir atau kombinasi dari pasir aktif, zeolit, karbon aktif dan lainnya. Media tersebut ditempatkan dalam pipa fiber diameter 8 inchi. Pembuatan dan pemasangan penyaring air di SDN 92 Pekanbaru telah menghasilkan air bersih dengan kriteria tidak berbau dan tanpa melalui proses pengendapan. Air yang dihasilkan saat ini tidak berwarna dan berdasarkan hasil pengujian dengan TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter diketahui nilai TDS hasil penyaring bernilai 15. Kondisi ini memenuhi syarat kesehatan air bersih yang telah ditetapkan pada PERMENKES No.416/ MENKES /PER/IX/1990.

Abstract

The melt exhibits non-uniform temperature in a crucible at the surface, middle, and bottom. Thus, selecting the proper measurement location is essential since it affects the casting quality. This study investigates the proper temperature measurement location of recycled aluminum cans in investment casting. The selection was made based on casted samples' tensile strength and porosity. The pattern was prepared using the polylactic acid mold, then coated by dipping it in ceramic slurry, and then dewaxed at 120ºC. The aluminum cans were heated up to 700ºC, and the temperature was measured at 50 mm from the crucible bottom. Finally, the melt was poured into a 100ºC ceramic shell. The processes were repeated with the measurement at 125 and 200 mm. The samples were characterized through tensile tests and porosity measurements. The results show that the optimum tensile strength (112.97 MPa) and minimum porosity (6.367%) were found in the 125 mm sample. Abstrak Temperatur logam cair tidak seragam di permukaan, tengah, dan dasar kowi. Pemilihan lokasi pengukuran yang tepat sangat penting karena mempengaruhi kualitas pengecoran. Studi ini menyelidiki titik pengukuran suhu kaleng aluminium daur ulang pada pengecoran investment. Pemilihan dilakukan berdasarkan kekuatan tarik dan porositas sampel yang dicor. Pola dibuat menggunakan cetakan using polylactic acid. Pola dilapisi dengan mencelupkannya ke dalam bubur keramik kemudian didewaxing pada temperatur 120ºC. Kaleng aluminium dipanaskan hingga 700ºC, suhu diukur pada 50 mm dari dasar kowi. Logam cair dituangkan ke dalam cetakan keramik saat temperaturnya 100ºC. Proses diulang dengan pengukuran untuk lokasi 125 dan 200 mm. Sampel dikarakterisasi melalui uji tarik dan pengukuran porositas. Hasil menunjukkan kekuatan tarik optimum (112,97 MPa) dan porositas minimum (6,367%) ditemukan pada sampel dengan lokasi pengukuran temperatur 125 mm dari dasar kowi.

Abstract

Agave Sisalana is widely grown in the Bukit Bulek area, West Sumatra Province. The Sisal leaf fiber is traditionally utilized by the Bukit Bulek community as a rope material. This indicates it has a great potential to be developed as a composite reinforcement material. This research aims to characterize the flexural and impact strength of Sisal leaf fiber as reinforcement in epoxy matrix composites by varying the fiber volume fractions, 30%, 35%, 40%, and 45% with a 0°/90° fiber orientation laminate. The 20 cm long of fibers and treated with 5% NaOH alkaline solution for 4 hours were employed. The composites were fabricated using the vacuum bagging method. Flexural and impact tests were conducted based on ASTM D-790 and ASTM D-6110 standards, respectively. The results show that the flexural strength increases from 45,20 to 49,67 MPa (maximum) as the fiber volume fraction increases from 30% to 35% fiber. Meanwhile, the impact strength increases as fiber volume fractions from 30% to 45% and reaches a maximum impact strength of 24.60 kJ/m².

Abstract

PT. PERTAMINA Hulu Rokan Zone 1 Field Lirik is engaged in upstream activities including exploitation and production, with two districts producing 2,000 barrels per day. An important component in oil production is the pipeline network, which distributes various fluids suchas water, gas, and oil. This study assesses the remaining effective life of the LR 038 pipeline network and provides preventive recommendations to avoid damage to the pipeline network, thus optimizing oil processing operations and maintaining material integrity using direct observation and inspection methods in the field. The results obtained are the remaining pipe life of 19.9 years with a corrosion rate of 0.003 in years. Recommendations for periodic painting and inspection.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan sesuai dengan usulan Perangkat Desa Buluh Cina yang menginginkan adanya media informasi pintar dengan display berupa smart tv pada masjid Nur Ikhlas yang posisinya dekat dengan lokasi objek wisata desa. Masjid ini sering digunakan oleh wisatawan untuk melaksanakan ibadah shalat. Kegiatan pengabdian dimulai dengan mempersiapkan alat dan bahan berupa raspberry, modul RTC, kabel HDMI, TV LED dan power adaptor. Tahapan kegiatan dilakukan dengan menginstal sistem operasi pada memory card yang dilanjutkan dengan pembuatan tampilan media informasi menggunakan bahasa HTML dan CSS. Tampilan media informasi dibuat semenarik mungkin untuk menampilkan informasi yang diinginkan. Proses berikutnya yang dilakukan yaitu mengkonfigurasi raspberry pi dan installasi web server ke dalam raspberry pi. Hasil pembuatan media ini selanjutnya dipasang di lokasi pengadian. Berdasarkan evaluasi yang dilakukan, media informasi pintar ini sangat membantu pengurus masjid dalam menampilkan informasi penting seperti rencana kegiatan, jadwal shalat, laporan keuangan dan lain lain.

Abstract

Turbines and generators are the main components of hydropower plants that are supported by several bearings, one of them is the thrust bearing. Thrust bearing unit 2 experienced a temperature rise that exceeded the alarm limit (77℃). This study aims to investigate the temperature rise and provide a solution. The investigation was conducted by visual observation; collating temperature and oil flow rate data; and reviewing the hydropower design. The results showed that the temperature rise was attributed to air (oil vapor) trapped in the lubricant circulation system. Therefore, the lubricant circulation system was modified by adding a pipe to the stayring as an outlet for trapped lubricant vapor. This measure effectively normalized the thrust-bearing temperature and flow rate.

Abstract

Many works have reported the role of grain refiners in aluminumsilicon alloy casting in direct chill casting. However, only a few are under the unidirectional solidification condition. Direct chill casting favors equiaxed structures, while unidirectional solidification favors columnar structures. This work investigated the influence of Al-Ti-B on the microstructure of unidirectionally solidified Al-10wt.%Cu-10wt.%Si. The samples were directionally solidified using the Bridgman apparatus. It was cooled at the bottom to a temperature of 650℃, and the temperatures were recorded during the cooling. A representation of the cooling curve was selected, and the solidification parameters were calculated. Metallographic procedures were applied to observe the microstructure across the sample length. The results show that the 0.03wt.%Ti effectively promotes nucleation in many sites. It leads to the formation of equiaxed structures and prevents fine columnar structures from further growth. Due to the magnitude of the cooling rate, the 0.03wt.%Ti exhibits fine columnar, fine equiaxed, coarse equiaxed, and dendrite equiaxed structures at the separated distance from the contact area. This formation is in line with the one produced by the mechanism in direct chill casting. Understanding the grain refiner effect is crucial for optimizing manufacturing processes and achieving desired material properties. The Al-Ti-B addition is not recommended in the propeller manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Pineapple leaf fiber is consideredan agricultural waste during the harvesting process. Pineapple leaves are rich in cellulose, which made it applicable in many industrial applications. This study aims to extract and characterize microcellulose from pineapple leaf waste in Kampar district, Riau. Pineapple fibers were isolated by alkalization (5 % NaOH) at 70 ºC for 150 minutes, followed by bleaching treatment(3% H2O2) at 60°C for 60minutes. Microcellulosewascharacterized through various techniques, namely chemical composition analysis, Fourier transform analysis (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (DT/TGA). The results reveal that the extractedmicrocellulose has significantcellulose content (72.45%) with a crystallinity index of 73.48%. The FTIR spectra of microcellulose indicatethat alkalization and bleaching treatments removed lignin and hemicellulose in varying degrees. Moreover, the extracted microcelluloseshows high thermal stability, the maximum decompositionoccurredat 347 ºC (weight residue 16.37%).Pineappleleaf fiber in Kampar district, Riau, can be a source of microcellulose as a renewable, eco-friendly, and sustainable material for future industrial applications.
