Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Latin alphabet usage on the vocabulary writing skills and science understanding of Thai Malay among Mattaeom 1 students at Ban Padungmat School, Thailand. A qualitative descriptive method was employed using participatory observation and documentation techniques on 25 students. The findings reveal that students face significant challenges in writing vocabulary due to differences in graphemic and phonological systems between the Latin alphabet and Thai script. Three dominant types of errors were identified: graphemic errors (72%), phonological errors (80%), and mixed usage of Latin and Thai characters (60%). These errors are influenced by negative transfer from the mother tongue and low adaptation to the Latin script. The study emphasizes the need for a contextual and phonetic-based learning approach in teaching the Latin alphabet to bilingual students. It recommends more intensive phonological and graphemic training to enhance vocabulary writing accuracy in Thai Malay.

Abstract

Background: Community midwifery management was to improve the health of mothers and children, toddlers in the family so that healthy and prosperous families are realized in certain communities. In December 2022 Haruman Village has a good health status coverage, K1, K4, Linakes, KF3, KN3, and detection of risk maternity mother was 24%, pregnant women risk was 26%, but in April 2023 there is an increase in detection of women at risk which was 37.5%. Objective: Describe the priority of problems to interventions related to MCH / KB, together with the community through Community Service activities. Method: The data used secondary data from Haruman Village. The method of prioritizing problems uses the Delbeque method through Focus Discussion Group (FGD).  Results:  It was found that about 30 out of 80 pregnant women had a high risk or about 37.5% of them were mild anemia 12.5%, CED 18.75%, and age over 35 years 6.25% Therefore, the group intervened in the form of counseling on CED for pregnant women, which was carried out on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at TPMB Rini Suwarni, the midwife of Haruman Village, and the provision of Moringa leaf pudding nutrition which can help improve nutrition in pregnant women with CEDs. Result: Counseling with the lecture method can increase knowledge about nutrition during pregnancy in preventing and overcoming CED. Empowering midwives and cadres to overcome CEDs can provide additional food in the form of processed moringa leaves. Conclusion: This community service program expected to be followed up elsewhere in the following year to support complementary innovations in preventing and treating CED in pregnant women

Abstract

The low utilization of campus portals as a means of independent learning by students, even though the portal has been provided as part of the digitalization efforts of higher education. Therefore, it is necessary to explore further how various variables in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), such as perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude toward use, and intention to use, influence the level of acceptance and utilization of campus portals for independent learning. The Independent Campus Portal uses the variables Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Attitude Toward Using (ATU), Behavioral Intention to Use (BIU), and Actual System Use (ASU) by applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Data collection for this study was carried out using a questionnaire. The sample used was 61 students majoring in Physics Education. The statistical testing methods used were statistical tests for normality, homogeneity, validity, reliability, and hypothesis testing using the t-test with the SPSS program. The results of this study indicate that of the six hypotheses proposed, all six hypotheses were accepted and had a significant influence. This research demonstrates the need for improved system optimization and technical support services to enable the portal to function more effectively and efficiently in supporting the Independent Campus program. The implications of this research demonstrate the importance of developing and optimizing the campus portal as a self-directed learning tool that is responsive to the needs and perceptions of users, particularly students.
