Abstract

Background: Hospitals are required to provide good services matching with the given standards. People who received health services were faced with the risk of nosocomial infection. The incidence of infection was recorded in various countries nosocomial around 3.3%-9.2%. Hand hygiene was the most important thing to prevent the spread of infection. The purpose of this study was to determine nurse’s compliance with hand hygiene in effort of preventing efforts nosocomial in Ward Dahlia of RSUD Wonosari Yogyakarta. Method: This study was a qualitative descriptive study. The research subject was as many as 15 nurses with a total sampling, where as the interview with the head of the ward, nurses and other control and prevention of infection used purposive sampling. Collecting data was done by sheet checklist, interview and documents. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman. Results: The nurses in performing hand hygiene SOP have been appropriate but some not with the percentage of 80%. Nurse’s compliance in hand hygiene compliance based on five principles moment it was found that nurses in carrying out the moment 1 was by 66.7% and the moment 2 was 73.4%, the percentage was categorized as minimal compliance. Conclusion: Standard operating procedure of hand hygiene and infrastructure was well, the process of implementation of hand hygiene nurses have not all met the standards. Nurses mostly ignored the moment 1 and 2, the moment 3, 4 and 5 were in the category of good compliance. Monitoring and evaluation has been done.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah memberikan slusi untuk pengelolaan limbah ternak. Peternakan sapi merupakan sumber penghasilan bagi masyarakat pedesaan.  Dampak peternakan salah satunya limbahnya mengganggu lingkungan, berbau tidak enak dan sumber penyakit.  Masyarakat umumnya belum bias mengolah limbah menjadi biogas.   Biogas berpotensi menggantikan penggunaan LPG, yang dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan bahan bakar warga. Metode yang digunakan dalam adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah telah pemahaman peternak tentang proses pengolahan limbah dan terwujudnya reaktor pengolah limbah dengan model kubah tertanam dalam tanah berkapasitas 6 kubik.  Reaktor ini memberikan manfaat berupa energi gas yang dialirkan ke kompor serta siap digunakan memasak cukup untuk keluarga 3-4 orang.Abstract: the purpose of this service activity is to provide slusi for livestock waste management. Cattle farming is a source of income for rural communities. One of the impacts of animal husbandry is that the environment disturbs, smells bad and is a source of disease. The general public cannot yet process waste into biogas. Biogas has the potential to replace the use of LPG, which can be used to meet the fuel needs of citizens. The method used in the training and assistance. The results of this activity are farmers' understanding of the waste treatment process and the realization of a waste treatment reactor with a dome model embedded in a 6 cubic-capacity soil. This reactor provides benefits in the form of gas energy which is flowed to the stove and is ready to use enough cooking for a family of 3-4 people.

Abstract

The 9-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-3,3,6,6-tetra-3,4,5,6,7,9-hexahydro-2H-xantene-1 compound, which is addressed as compound 1 in this study, is the derivatives of 1,8-dioxo- octahydroxantene. This compound has a carbonyl group and double bond on beta carbon toward the carbonyl group and benzene ring. The presence of this chromophore helps the compound creates intermediate stabilized by resonance from its interaction with free radicals and has the potential to be an antioxidant. Compound 1 was synthesized from p- methoxybenzaldehyde and dimedone through Knoevenagel condensation reaction using an acid as catalyst. The lime and lemon juice was selected as a catalyst to support green chemistry principle. The obtained product includes white powder with a melting point of 222-224oC. The IR analysis results, GC-MS, and 1H-NMR data show that the compound structure of Compound 1. Meanwhile, the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method reveal that Compound 1 has the antioxidant activity with IC50 of 22.74 ppm.

Abstract

Hidrokarbon adalah salah satu materi dalam cabang ilmu kimia organik yang berkembang pesat. Pada kurikulum tingkat satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) kimia organik mulai dibelajarkan di kelas X pada materi hidrokarbon. Pembelajaran hidrokarbon selama ini dilakukan dengan studi refrensi saja. Namun seiring perkembangan tehnologi dan informasi siswa lebih memilih internet karena dinilai praktis. Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan internet akan lebih baik jika digabungkan dengan suatu model pembelajaran. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut peneliti ingin mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan internet dalam pembelajaran Learning Cycle 6E sehingga peneliti mengambil judul penelitian “Keefektifan Internet dalam Learning Cycle-6E pada Materi Hidrokarbon jika ditinjau dari Hasil Belajar Siswa”. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis rancangan semu (Quasy Experimental Design). Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa – siswi kelas X di SMAN 4 kota Kediri. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas, sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan data hasil temuan penelitian dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran materi hidrokarbon yang diajarkan menggunakan model Learning Cycle-6E berbantuan internet terbukti efektif dimana ditunjukkan dengan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dimana nilai rata – rata siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi konsep sukar, kesalahan konsep, dan faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif. Subjek penelitian seluruh siswa kelas XI MIA salah satu SMA Negeri di Blitar tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes pilihan ganda beralasan dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) konsep sukar terbanyak dan terendah yang dimiliki siswa adalah 54 siswa terbanyak (86%) tersedia pada konsep penentuan sifat ion dalam larutan dengan indikator analisis sifat kation dan anion dalam larutan berdasarkan harga Ka dan Kb, dan 41 siswa terendah (65%) terdapat pada konsep persamaan reaksi hidrolisis garam dengan indikator menentukan persamaan reaksi hidrolisis garam berdasarkan kekuatan asam/basa penyusunnya. (2) Kesalahan konsep yang sering dialami siswa yaitu menganggap sifat ion sama dengan sifat zat asalnya, dan konversikan satuan volume larutan kedalam liter dianggap tidak penting. (3) Faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan mempelajari dan memahami materi hidrolisis garam adalah faktor internal yang sering dialami siswa yaitu kebiasaan belajar (pendisiplinan diri), sedangkan faktor eksternal yang sering dialami siswa yaitu penjelasan dan respon guru dalam proses pengajaran.Kata kunci: konsep sukar, kesalahan konsep, faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar, hidrolisis garamAbstract: The purpose of this research was to identify the difficult concepts, misconception, and factors of difficulty learning causes of salt hydrolysis among students in senior high school “X” Blitar. This research was descriptive research. The subject of this research were all students of class XI Science Senior High School “X” in Blitar academic year 2017/2018. The research instrumens in the form of reasoned multiple choice and questionnaire. The result of the study shows that: (1) the highest and lowest difficult  concept that students had were the 54 most students (86%) available on the concept of determining ion properties in the solution with an indicator of the analysis of cation and anion properties in solution based on the price of Ka and Kb, and 41 lowest students (65%) is found in the concept of the salt hydrolysis reaction equation with the indicator determining the equation of the salt hydrolysis reaction based on the strength of the constituent acid/base. (2) Misconceptions that are often experienced by students, namely assuming the nature of the ion is the same as the nature of the substance of origin, and converting the unit of volume of the solution into the liter is considered unimportant. (3) Factors that cause difficulties in learning and understanding salt hydrolysis material are internal factors that are often experienced by students, namely learning habits (self-discipline), while external factors are often experienced by students, namely the explanation and response of the teacher in the teaching process. Key words: difficult concepts, misconceptions, factors causing learning difficulties, salt hydrolysis

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman konsep asam basa pada tingkat representasi makroskopik, mikroskopik, dan simbolik pada materi asam-basa siswa kelas XI MIA salah satu SMA Negeri di Blitar tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes pilihan ganda beralasan. Hasil penelitian: (1) tingkat pemahaman konsep asam basa pada aspek makroskopik tergolong tinggi, 73,18%, (2) tingkat pemahaman konsep pada aspek mikroskopik tergolong rendah, 50,74%, (3) tingkat pemahaman konsep pada aspek simbolik tergolong cukup, 61,21%, dan (4) hasil korelasi antara representasi makroskopik-mikroskopik tergolong sedang (0,573), hasil korelasi antara representasi makroskopik-simbolik tergolong sedang (0,421) dan hasil korelasi antara mikroskopik-simbolik tergolong kuat (0,675). Kata Kunci: pemahaman konsep, tingkat representasi, makroskopik, mikroskopik, simbolik, asam basa. ABSTRACT: This research aims to determine the level of understanding the concept of acid base at the level of macroscopic, microscopic, and symbolic representation of class XI Science one of Senior High School in Blitar academic year 2017/2018. The research instrumens in the form of reasoned multiple choice. The results show that: (1) the level of understanding of acid-base concept in the macroscopic aspect belong to high category, 73.18%, (2) the level of understanding of the concept on the microscopic aspect classifying to low category, 50.74%, (3) the level of understanding of the concept on the symbolic aspect classifying to the category enough, 61.21%, and (4) the correlation result between macroscopic-microscopic representation belong to medium category (0,573), result of correlation between macroscopic-symbolic representation classified in medium category (0,421) and result of correlation between microscopic-symbolic belong to strong category (0,675). Keywords:  understanding concept, degree of representation, macroscopic, microscopic, symbolic, acid-base.

Abstract

Mewujudkan masyarakat berliterasi sains adalah salah satu tujuan utama pendidikan sains, termasuk kimia. Pemahaman hakikat sains merupakan salah satu ciri yang diinginkan pada seseorang yang berliterasi sains. Pemahaman hakikat sains siswa sangat bergantung pada pemahaman hakikat sains guru. Guru harus memiliki pemahaman hakikat sains yang baik sekaligus cara membelajarkannya kepada siswa. Hakikat sains dapat dibelajarkan melalui pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri ilmiah. Calon guru kimia juga  harus memiliki pemahaman hakikat sains dan inkuiri ilmiah yang baik agar mampu menjadi guru kimia yang dapat membelajarkan hakikat sains melalui pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri ilmiah, yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan minyak jarak cina (castrol oil) sebagai pelumas sangat terbatas, karena hanya digunakan pada mesin hidroulik. Hal ini disebabkan oleh viskositasnya yang tinggi. Selain itu, ikatan rangkap dalam minyak jarak cina mudah teroksidasi karena penyusun utama minyak jarak cina adalah asam risinoleat (asam 12-hidroksi-cis-9-oktadekenoat). Pengubahan ikatan rangkap dalam minyak jarak menjadi gugus lain akan meningkatkan ketahanannya terhadap oksidasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mensintesis senyawa-senyawa hidroksi ester minyak jarak cina dengan mengubah ikatan rangkap pada asam lemaknya menjadi gugus hidroksil dan gugus ester. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua langkah utama yaitu: 1) epoksidasi minyak jarak dengan asam peroksi format, dan 2) pembukaan cincin epoksida dengan asam format membentuk senyawa hidroksi ester. Analisis dan identifikasi senyawa hasil dilakukan dengan kromatografi lapis tipis dan spektrometri IR. Karakterisasi senyawa hasil sintesis menggunakan indeks bias dan viskositas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa-senyawa hidroksi ester dapat disintesis dari minyak jarak cina melalui tahap pembentukan epoksida dan diikuti dengan pembukaan cincin epoksida dengan asam karboksilat. Berdasarkan karakter indeks bias dan viskositasnya diketahui bahwa senyawa hidroksi ester minyak jarak cina berpotensi digunakan sebagai pelumas Roda Gigi Industeri Standar AGMA (No. 8 untuk formil hidroksi ester dan  No. 10 untuk propionil hidroksi ester). The utilization of castor oil as a lubricant is very limited, because it was only used on the machine hydraulic. This is because their highly viscosity. In addition, the double bond in ricinoleic acid (cys-12-hydroxy-9-oktadecenoic acid) as the main constituent of castor oil is easily oxidized. The conversion of double bonds in the castor oil into another group will increase its resistance to oxidation. This research aims to synthesize the compounds of the hydroxyl ester derivatives of castor oil by converting the double bond in the fatty acid into hydroxyl and ester groups. This study consists of two main steps: 1) epoxidation of castor oil with performic acids, 2) opening of the epoxide ring with formic acid to form hydroxyl ester compound. Analysis and identification of the compounds is done by thin layer chromategraphy and infrared spectrometry. Characterization of compounds synthesized using the refractive index and viscosity. The results showed that the hydroxyl ester compounds can be synthesized from castor oil by epoxide double bonds and followed by ring opening of epoxides with carboxylic acids. Based on the character of the refractive index and viscosity is known that hydroxyl ester derivatives of castor oil could potentially be used as a lubricant of Gear Industries AGMA Standards (No. 8 for formic hydroxyl esters and No. 10 for propionic-hydroxyl esters).

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of triangulation-based metacognitive learning strategy on students’ chemistry literacy and learning achievement. This study was conducted by using a pretest-posttest control group design. The participants of this research were two classes of 10th grade natural science students of Senior High School in Pasuruan, Indonesia. One class was taught using triangulation-based metacognitive learning strategies consisting of four steps (Preparing, Doing, Checking, and Assessing & Following-Up) abbreviated to MLS-PDCA, and another was taught using expository learning strategy (ELS). Data was collected by pretest and posttest. Based on the data analysis, it was known that the N-gain averages of students’ chemistry literacy were 54% in MLS-PDCA class as the middle category and 38% in the ELS class as middle category. N-gain averages of learning achievement were 56% in experiment class as middle category and 40% in ELS as middle category. Mann Whitney U and independent sample t-test showed that the improvement of students’ chemistry literacy and learning achievement in MLS-PDCA class was more significant than in the ELS class. It can be concluded that MLS-PDCA can enhance the students’ chemistry literacy and learning achievement in senior high school.
