Abstract

Additionally, resilience to crises makes Islamic banking one of the leading solutions to overcoming the economic crisis. This research aims to analyse the level of performance of Islamic banking in Indonesia and determine factors, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during the 2011-2022 period, using 11 Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. The analysis method used is DEA Two Stage, with secondary data from the financial reports of each Islamic commercial bank. The input variables are fixed assets, labour costs, and third-party funds. The output variables are the amount of financing provided and operational income. The research results explain that no Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia achieved optimal efficiency during the research period. Then, the efficiency level of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia fluctuated yearly during the research period. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the efficiency level of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia. In the potential improvement analysis, know that the most significant source of inefficiency is the output variable: the amount of financing provided. The results of the benchmarking analysis found Islamic commercial banks with the most references, where the year most referred to was 2021-2022.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the metaphorical thinking approach on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities and determine the percentage of students' mathematical critical thinking abilities who use the metaphorical thinking approach. The method used is the experimental method, namely Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in the study was all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 1 Tasikmalaya. The samples in the research were students in class VIII G as the experimental class and class VIII A as the control class. The sample technique uses random assignment. The instrument used is a description test of mathematical critical thinking abilities. Data analysis techniques include descriptive statistics and inferential statistics by analyzing and measuring students' mathematical critical thinking skills using IBM SPSS Statistics 24. Normality test using Shapiro Wilk, homogeneity test using Levene's, mean difference test (right side) using Independent Sample T- Test, and the Mann Whitney test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the metaphorical thinking approach on students' mathematical critical thinking abilities. The mathematical critical thinking ability of students with a metaphorical thinking approach is in the high category 40.625%, medium 40.625%, low 18.75%, and the overall average score is 58% in the medium category.

Abstract

Soft skills are essential factors in preparing students to face the increasingly competitive job market. However, traditional learning methods often pay less attention to the development of these non-technical skills. This study aims to analyze the impact of project-based learning integrated with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) on improving students' soft skills in the Organic Chemistry course, particularly in the topic of hydrocarbons. The research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive-correlational design. The sample was selected purposively, involving 33 students who took the Organic Chemistry. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using Google Form, and the data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results showed that the project-based learning method integrated with STEAM (PJBL-STEAM) had a significant impact on the development of students' soft skills, with a determination coefficient (R²) value of 0.300. This indicates that the method explains 30% of the variation in soft skills improvement, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors beyond this study. In conclusion, this study highlights that PJBL-STEAM is not only effective in enhancing students' technical abilities but also plays a crucial role in developing the non-technical skills required in professional settings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis kemampuan penalaran deduktif matematis berdasarkan gender di salah satu sekolah di Tasikmalaya. Kemampuan penalaran deduktif matematis di Indonesia belum maksimal, salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah karakteristik gender yaitu maskulin dan feminin. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif eksploratif, instrumen yang digunakan yaitu kuesioner PAQ untuk mengukur karakteristik maskulin dan feminin serta soal tes kemampuan penalaran deduktif matematis pada materi barisan aritmetika tingkat dua. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas XI di salah satu SMA di Tasikmalaya. Hasilnya menunjukkan variasi dalam kemampuan penalaran deduktif matematis antara peserta didik berdasarkan gender, dengan siswa perempuan feminin menunjukkan performa yang lebih baik. yang mana peserta didik laki-laki maskulin dan perempuan maskulin hanya bisa memenuhi dua indikator kemampuan penalaran deduktif yaitu menyusun pembuktian langsung dan menarik kesimpulan logis, kemudian peserta didik laki-laki feminin hanya bisa memenuhi dua indikator kemampuan penalaran deduktif yaitu menyusun pembuktian langsung dan menarik kesimpulan logis. Sedangkan perempuan feminin dapat memenuhi ketiga indikator kemampuan penalaran deduktif matematis. Temuan ini memberikan pemahaman baru tentang kemampuan penalaran deduktif matematis siswa dan mengatasi stereotip bahwa perempuan kurang mampu dalam matematika. Identifikasi perbedaan karakteristik gender dalam pembelajaran matematika penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan matematika secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing students' motivation to learn mathematics at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Tasikmalaya. The research employs a quantitative approach with a factor analysis method. The study population comprises students from SMP Negeri 2 Kota Tasikmalaya, with a sample of 249 students selected using a cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire designed to explore the factors affecting students' motivation to learn mathematics. Data analysis was conducted using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), which included an analysis feasibility test, the construction of a correlation matrix, extraction process, factor rotation, and factor naming. The results indicate that students' motivation to learn mathematics is influenced by nine key factors: (1) school environment, (2) family environment, (3) talent, (4) aspirations, (5) interest, (6) perception of mathematics, (7) teacher, (8) community environment, and (9) attitude. These findings provide valuable insights for improving learning strategies in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berangkat dari masalah siswa yang kesulitan memahami konsep perbandingan matematika dan mengaitkannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang interaktif serta minimnya penggunaan teknologi dan penerapan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi menyebabkan pembelajaran menjadi kurang menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan, menguji kelayakan, dan menilai respons siswa terhadap media pembelajaran matematika berbasis aplikasi edukasi untuk materi perbandingan di SMP, sesuai pendekatan berdiferensiasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian menggunakan metode pengembangan dengan model PPE (Planning, Production, Evaluation). Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan tes diagnostik siswa, sementara validasi kelayakan media dilakukan oleh ahli media dan materi. Respon siswa dinilai melalui angket. Subjek penelitian melibatkan siswa kelas VII G SMP Negeri 11 Tasikmalaya. Hasilnya adalah media pembelajaran “Aplikasi Edukasi” yang dirancang untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar siswa dengan beragam gaya belajar dinilai sangat layak oleh para ahli dan mendapatkan respons positif dari siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan media pembelajaran “Aplikasi Edukasi” memiliki potensi meningkatkan pembelajaran matematika secara menarik dan interaktif. This research departs from the problem of students who have difficulty understanding the concept of mathematical comparison and relating it to everyday life. Conventional learning approaches that are less interactive and the lack of use of technology and the application of differentiated learning cause learning to be less interesting. This research aims to develop, test the feasibility, and assess student responses to educational application-based mathematics learning media for comparison material in junior high schools, according to the differentiated approach of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research uses a development method with the PPE (Planning, Production, Evaluation) model. Data were collected through interviews and student diagnostic tests, while media feasibility validation was carried out by media and material experts. Student responses were assessed through questionnaires. The research subjects involved students of class VII G SMP Negeri 11 Tasikmalaya. The result is the learning media ‘Aplikasi Edukasi’ which is designed to accommodate the learning needs of students with various learning styles is considered very feasible by experts and get positive responses from students. This shows that the ‘Educational Application’ learning media has the potential to improve mathematics learning in an interesting and interactive way.

Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran merupakan kompetensi penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh setiap peserta didik dalam mempelajari matematika. Kemampuan penalaran matematis menjadi salah satu level kognitif yang diukur dalam asesmen kompetensi minimum. Soal asesmen kompetensi minimum biasanya berbentuk kontekstual dan non rutin sehingga untuk dapat menyelesaikannya membutuhkan kemampuan bernalar yang baik. Soal bentuk penalaran seringkali dianggap sulit oleh peserta didik. Tidak sedikit peserta didik merasa putus asa ketika menghadapi soal matematika yang sulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kemampuan penalaran matematis dari setiap tingkat resiliensi matematis yang dimiliki peserta didik dalam mengerjakan soal berbasis asesmen kompetensi minimum. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini melibatkan 6 peserta didik kelas VIII D SMP Negeri 8 Tasikmalaya yang dipilih dari 27 peserta didik berdasarkan tingkat resiliensi matematis yang dimilikinya. Data diperoleh melalui pengisian angket, soal tes, dan wawancara. Data dianalisis melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) peserta didik dengan kategori resiliensi matematis tinggi memenuhi semua indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis, (2) peserta didik dengan kategori resiliensi matematis sedang hanya memenuhi beberapa indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis, dan (3) peserta didik dengan kategori resiliensi matematis rendah tidak memenuhi satupun indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis.

Abstract

Matematika sering dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang sulit karena melibatkan konsep abstrak dan kompleks, seperti teori, bilangan, dan rumus. Selain keterampilan berpikir kritis, keberhasilan dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika juga memerlukan kecerdasan emosional untuk mengelola emosi, meningkatkan motivasi, dan menjaga stabilitas diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 6 Tasikmalaya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, sampel penelitian diambil secara acak sederhana sebanyak 34 siswa dari kelas VII H. Data diperoleh melalui angket kecerdasan emosional dan tes literasi matematis materi persamaan linear satu variabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik kecerdasan emosional maupun kemampuan literasi matematis siswa berada pada kategori sedang. Pengujian regresi linier sederhana mengungkapkan adanya hubungan linier positif antara kecerdasan emosional dan kemampuan literasi matematis, dengan kontribusi sebesar 49,2%. Temuan ini menunjukkan kecerdasan emosional merupakan faktor penting yang perlu diperhatikan dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study examines students' mathematical interpretation abilities and dispositions based on their learning motivation levels (high, medium, and low). Employing a qualitative approach with an exploratory method, this research collected data through interpretation ability tests, mathematical disposition and learning motivation questionnaires, and interviews to explore students' perceptions. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study, conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Kadugede in class VII K, found characteristic differences based on motivation levels. Students with high motivation demonstrated enthusiasm, resilience, and optimism in mathematics, as well as comprehensive understanding, good representational abilities, and sound conclusion drawing, although their written answers were sometimes inaccurate. Students with medium motivation showed varied achievements, generally possessing sufficient self-confidence, perseverance, interest, and curiosity, capable of understanding problems, representing information, and drawing conclusions, although the accuracy of their writing and the scope of problems solved were still limited. Meanwhile, students with low motivation experienced difficulties in understanding problems, especially complex ones. In conclusion, learning motivation plays a crucial role in strengthening interpretation abilities and forming positive mathematical dispositions, potentially improving student achievement and active participation in mathematics learning.
