Abstract

The fishing equipment used in Central Tapanuli Regency is dominated by gill net fishing equipment. This research was conducted in July at the Fish Landing Site Kuala Sorkam Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. The research object used in this research is gillnet fishermen located in TPI Kuala Sorkam as resource persons, the fishermen are distinguished into fishermen, skippers and crew. The equipment used in this research is data collection devices, communication devices and laptops. The operation process of Gill Net fishing equipment has four stages, namely determining the location of fishing gound, net installation, net withdrawal, and the final process of moving the catch into the hold. Perception of Gill Net fishermen in TPI Kualla Sorkam generally fall into the "medium" category more than 50% of fishermen in that category try to comply with existing regulations but fishermen's knowledge of the size of fish worth catching is still lacking.

Abstract

Kegiatan perikanan diwilayah Kelurahan Hajoran didominasi oleh perikanan tangkap Bagan Tancap.Pengoperasian alat tangkap bagan sendiri tak lepas dari alat bantu penangkapan yang menggunakan cahaya lampuuntuk menarik perhatian ikan yang bersifat fototaxis positif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah penelitianpendahuluan yang dimana di daerah tersebut belum ada melakukan penelitian tentang komposisi hasil tangkapandan mengetahui jumlah hasil tangkapan berdasarkan alat tangkap bagan di perairan hajoran. Manfaat penelitianini dapat memberikan manfaat kepada para nelayan bagan tancap di daerah perairan hajoran dan menjadi baganacuan para pemangku kebijakan di daerah setempat. Pengumpulan data penelitian pada alat tangkap Bagan tancapyang di beroperasi di perairan Kelurahan Hajoran, Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah, Sumatera Utara. Pelaksanaanpenelitian dimulai pada bulan September 2019. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak setiap hari berdasarkankapal yang melakukan operasi penangkapan selama 12 hari, dengan pengambilan data hasil tangkapan langsungdilapangan, baik alat tangkap bagan yang sama maupun berbeda. diperoleh selama melakukan penelitian bahwaikan yang tertangkap pada alat tangkap bagan tancap terdiri dari 8 jenis ikan, yang terdiri dari ikan teri, tembang,layang, julung-julung, selar, layur, kurisi, dan serinding.

Abstract

The uncontrolled fishing of skipjack tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis) without recruitment efforts has led to stock degradation and unstable abundance due to excessive pressure. This study aims to estimate the sustainable potential of skipjack tuna by calculating Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE), assessing Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY), and determining Total Allowable Catch (TAC). The research was conducted at PPN Sibolga and utilized survey-based data collection and surplus production analysis using the Schaefer model. The findings indicate that standardized CPUE in 2018 was 0.639 tons/trip, increased to 0.764 tons/trip in 2019, dropped to 0.527 tons/trip in 2020 and 0.506 tons/trip in 2021, and returned to 0.639 tons/trip in 2022. Purse seines were identified as the primary fishing gear. The Schaefer model estimated CMSY at 8,699.7 tons, classifying the fishery as fully exploited. FMSY was calculated at 5,447 trips, with annual efforts consistently exceeding this threshold, indicating overfishing. The TAC was set at 6,959.7 tons. Management strategies should regulate fishing efforts, enforce gear specifications, and implement science-based fisheries policies to prevent further degradation. Aligning fishing activities with sustainable thresholds will support skipjack tuna stocks' recovery and long-term productivity. These findings underline the importance of adaptive management and collaboration to sustain marine ecosystems and protect livelihoods

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kapasitas nelayan Kota Sibolga dalam pencatatan hasil tangkapan ikan pelagis untuk mendukung pengelolaan perikanan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 30 nelayan dengan pendekatan partisipatif melalui penyuluhan, praktik lapangan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Hasilnya, 90% peserta memahami pentingnya pencatatan setelah pelatihan, dan 85% konsisten mencatat hasil tangkapan selama pendampingan. Solusi berupa aplikasi offline diperkenalkan untuk mengatasi kendala sinyal di laut, sementara logbook manual menjadi alternatif bagi nelayan yang belum terbiasa dengan teknologi. Data hasil tangkapan yang terkumpul membantu nelayan memahami pola tangkapan musiman dan menjadi dasar bagi pemerintah untuk menyusun kebijakan seperti kuota tangkapan dan larangan penangkapan musiman. Program ini menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi lintas sektor dan pendekatan berbasis komunitas efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas nelayan sekaligus mendukung kebijakan berbasis data. Dengan keberlanjutan program ini, diharapkan pengelolaan perikanan di Sibolga dapat menjadi model perikanan berkelanjutan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan ekowisata memancing yang berkelanjutan di kawasan mangrove Desa Buruk Bakul, Kecamatan Bukit Batu, Kabupaten Bengkalis, Provinsi Riau, melalui pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari tiga tahap: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan melibatkan identifikasi masalah, koordinasi dengan stakeholder, studi tentang kebutuhan wisatawan, dan persiapan logistik. Tahap pelaksanaan fokus pada edukasi dan pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui pretest, penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, dan post-test. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan menganalisis peningkatan pemahaman peserta dan mengumpulkan saran untuk pengembangan lebih lanjut. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta mengenai ekowisata memancing. Setelah penyuluhan, 76,47% peserta menyatakan mengerti materi yang disampaikan, meningkat dari pemahaman awal. Partisipasi aktif peserta tercermin dari saran konstruktif seperti pengembangan spot memancing, peningkatan fasilitas, dan penerapan alat tangkap ramah lingkungan. Meskipun keterlibatan langsung dalam kegiatan ekowisata memancing masih rendah, kesadaran akan potensi ekonomi dan pentingnya konservasi lingkungan telah meningkat. Kegiatan ini berhasil membangun fondasi untuk pengembangan ekowisata yang berkelanjutan di Desa Buruk Bakul.

Abstract

The exponential growth of environmental challenges, particularly those affecting water resources, necessitates innovative technological interventions beyond conventional approaches. This review explores the transformative potential of deep learning technologies in water quality management across different scales from controlled laboratory environments to complex oceanic systems. By analyzing recent developments, we identify how neural networks, especially convolutional and recurrent architectures, have revolutionized water quality parameter prediction, anomaly detection, and ecosystem monitoring. Integrating multi-modal data streams with advanced algorithms has enabled unprecedented predictive accuracy and real-time assessment capabilities, transforming reactive monitoring systems into proactive management frameworks. Despite significant progress, challenges remain in data standardization, model interpretability, and the practical deployment of these technologies in resource-constrained settings. This review critically assesses current research trajectories and identifies promising avenues for future development, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in translating laboratory innovations to large-scale implementation for safeguarding our most precious resource

Abstract

Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Cilacap merupakan salah satu pelabuhan perikanan terbesar di Indonesia yang memiliki peran strategis dalam industri perikanan tangkap, khususnya untuk komoditas ikan cakalang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen operasi penangkapan ikan cakalang di PPS Cilacap dengan fokus pada efisiensi operasional, optimalisasi sumber daya, dan strategi pengembangan berkelanjutan. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan teknik observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam dengan stakeholder terkait, dan analisis data sekunder dari periode 2019-2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produksi ikan cakalang di PPS Cilacap mengalami fluktuasi dengan rata-rata 35.000 ton per tahun. Manajemen operasi yang efektif memerlukan koordinasi yang baik antara nelayan, pengolah, distributor, dan pemerintah. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efisiensi operasi meliputi teknologi penangkapan, kondisi cuaca, ketersediaan bahan bakar, dan sistem logistik. Strategi pengembangan yang direkomendasikan mencakup modernisasi teknologi penangkapan, peningkatan fasilitas pelabuhan, pengembangan cold chain system, dan penguatan kelembagaan nelayan. Implementasi manajemen operasi yang terintegrasi dapat meningkatkan produktivitas hingga 25% dan mengurangi losses hingga 15%.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the catch composition and evaluate the financial feasibility of using senangin gill nets at the Fisheries Port Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) in Riau Province. Primary data were collected through direct observation and interviews with boat-owning fishermen, while secondary data were obtained from relevant institutions. The results indicated that senangin fish (Eleutheronema tetradactylum) was the main catch with the highest CPUE values during the 2020–2023 period. The by-catch included mullet (Mugil cephalus), pomfret (Pampus argenteus), and catfish (Arius thalassinus). The financial feasibility analysis showed that the fishing operation is viable, with a positive Net Present Value (NPV), an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) exceeding the discount rate, a Payback Period (PP) of less than five years, and a Benefit-Cost Ratio (BCR) greater than one. Therefore, the use of senangin nets is considered ecologically sustainable and economically beneficial for local fishermen.
