Abstract

This studi aims to examine teh process of developing the characters of patience and trustworthiness through the learning theme of the Hijrah story of Prophet Muhammad among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 22 Baubau. This study employs a qualitative approach to understand students’ character development within the context of Islamic exemplary values. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that learning activities based on the Hijrah story of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) contribute to fostering the characters of patience and trustworthiness among students, although the level of understanding and application varies among them. Some students have demonstrated patient and trustworthy behavior in their daily activities, while others still require continuous habituation and guidance. This study highlights the importance of teachers’ role modeling and habituation processes in strengthening the internalization of the values of patience and trustworthiness. Therefore, it can be concluded that exemplary story-based learning plays an important role in shaping the characters of patience and trustworthiness in elementary school students.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Kemuhammadiyahan course in shaping the religious attitudes of the 2021 cohort of students in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton. Although the course is designed to inculcate Islamic and Muhammadiyah values, observed phenomena indicate that many students have not yet fully demonstrated religious attitudes in their campus life. Accordingly, this study aims to evaluate the extent to which the course implementation is effective in fostering students’ religious attitudes and to identify factors influencing the outcomes. The research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings reveal that the predominance of lecture-based instruction, largely descriptive course content, and the lack of integrated co-curricular activities constitute the main factors limiting students’ application of religious values in their daily lives. In conclusion, strengthening the formation of religious attitudes requires renewed instructional strategies that are more interactive and contextually grounded, as well as the integration of relevant co-curricular activities aligned with Kemuhammadiyahan values.

Abstract

The difficulties that students often experience in studying the Al-Qur'an, especially in class VIII E, became the impetus for conducting this research. Students at SMP Negeri 7 Buton Tengah have problems in terms of encouraging them to read the Al-Qur'an, feeling lazy, lacking self-confidence and accuracy in recognizing makhraj and tajwid. With regular Koran activities carried out every Wednesday or Friday, one way to make it easier for students to study the Koran, from the Iqro level to the Al-Qur'an level, is to use the talaqqi (musyafahah), talqin technique, and tikrar techniques. With this method, students read directly in front of the teacher, and the teacher immediately corrects if there are mistakes in makharj or tajwid and the teacher uses (talaqqi), even the teacher reads it first then the students imitate it (talqin), then the teacher reads the verses of the Koran again and the students imitate it (tikrar). The aim of this research is to ensure that students' reading is in accordance with correct Tajweed rules and good reading standards. This study uses a qualitative approach to understand and measure students' Quranic reading and writing abilities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation as research instruments in addition to purposive sampling techniques (purposeful samples). The research findings show that class VIII E uses talaqqi, talqin, and tikrar techniques. From cycle I, when the average score was 65,80, to cycle II when the average score was 89,09, included in the very good category, students' understanding of Quranic reading and writing abilities has increased over the past year.
