Abstract

This study analyzes some Interlingual errors that occurred to seventh-grade students of SMP Jembatan Budaya who have low scores on each exam. That is why it is easy to find some of the Interlingual errors of these seventh-grade students. In addition, the use of second language acquisition or the use of L2 often occurs in the classroom as they learn L2 especially English. This can happen from teacher to student or student to teacher or can see when students make some written tasks. This study found evidence that English (L2) used still at the Interlanguage level (IL) because some students still had Interlingual errors when they used English (L2) such as the use of To Be, prepositions and adjectives/nouns. Therefore, the researchers found the strategy of school teachers to solve the problem of Interlingual errors by using Drill method that makes them do the repetition about the use of To Be, adjectives/nouns, etc. And the latter was a perspective on the relationship between Interlingual Errors with the businessman in the Global Era which was said to be closely related to the interest of foreign business clients when interacting with the business, if the businessman is speaking with good grammar and correctness then the business client of the foreign country will give plus points and assess the businessman as a smart and intelligent partner.Keywords: Second Language Acquisition, Interlingual Errors, Businessman in Era Global

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the emotive functions of language as a medium to motivate students. This study employed a qualitative methodology. This research was conducted in schools located in Denpasar, Bali, with teachers as its subjects to interview. Based on the findings of interviews with all participants, observations, and documentation, it can be inferred that the emotive function of language contributes to student motivation in the following ways: The emotive function of language is essential for motivating students; for example, teachers must express pride when students answer questions correctly; teachers must display enthusiasm while responding to anything students do in the classroom; teachers must demonstrate empathy when students answer incorrectly, but they must also keep students in a good mood and avoid letting them down; and teachers must express support when students are about to give up on answering a question.

Abstract

Pendidikan usia dini adalah salah satu fase fundamental untuk kehidupan manusia khususnya anak-anak, fungsi dari pendidikan ini adalah untuk mengasah intuisi pengetahuan dan juga pembentukan karakter untuk kelanjutan pendidikan di jenjang berikutnya. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) dilakukan di Taman Kanak-kanak (TK) Handayani bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada anak-anak TK dalam mewarnai dengan pola. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan PkM ini adalah penyampaian materi dan pendampingan kepada 36 anak-anak TK. Hasil PkM menunjukkan bahwa anak-anak telah mampu untuk menggambar mengikuti pola, memilih dan membedakan warna yang digunakan untuk mewarnai pola. PkM ini juga memberikan dampak dalam pengembangan imajinasi dan kemampuan motorik anak-anak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi mengenai strategy komunikasi Guru PAUD dalam pengenalan Bahasa Inggris. Terdapat dua bagian masalah yang akan diperdalam yaitu (1) Jenis strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh guru PAUD dalam pengenalan bahasa Inggris serta (2) Persepsi guru PAUD dalam pengenalan bahasa Inggris kepada Anak Usia Dini (AUD) Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Adapun hasil penelitian ini ada dua jenis strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh subjek penelitian, yaitu: Modification Devices and L1-based. Strategi komunikasi yang paling sering terjadi adalah L1-Based yaitu language switching. Kemudian persepesi guru menunjukkan hal yang positif tentang bagaimana pentingnya pengenalan bahasa Inggris kepada Anak Usia Dini (AUD), namun pengenalan ini harus didampingi dengan cara yang tepat seperti menggunakan strategi komunikasi yang tepat.Keywords: Strategi Komunikasi, Pengenalan Bahasa Inggris, PAUD

Abstract

Abstrak: Program pelatihan pembentukan karakter oleh BSA yaitu Devotion yang dilakukan setiap hari sebelum memulai kegiatan belajar mengajar di yakini sangat efektif dalam membentuk karakter siswa-siswi BSA. Hal ini diperlukan mengingat revolusi industri 4.0 memicu terjadinya perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat dan munculnya era disrupsi yang merubah sistem lama dengan cara-cara baru yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini mencari efektivitas Devotion sebagai pelatihan pembentukan karakter dalam membentuk etos kerja siswa-siswi generasi millenial untuk siap terjun di dunia pekerjaan dalam era disrupsi. Penelitian bersifat kualitatif dengan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik wawancara dan observasi dari beberapa informan Teknik pemeriksaan kebenaran data pada penelitian ini menggunakan triangulasi sumber dari alumni BSA, guru BSA dan pemilik BSA dan triangulasi teknik menggunakan Observasi, Wawancara dan dokumentasi.Abstract: The character development training program by BSA, namely Devotion which is carried out every day before starting teaching and learning activities is believed to be very effective in shaping the character of BSA students. This is necessary considering that the industrial revolution 4.0 has triggered a very rapid technological development and the emergence of an era of disruption that changed the old system with new, more effective and efficient. The purpose of this study is to see the effectiveness of Devotion as character development training at the Bali Star Academy to form the work ethic of millennial generation students to be ready to enter the workforce in the era of disruption, qualitative research with data collection methods used is interview and observation techniques from several informants. Data validity checking techniques in this study used triangulation of sources from BSA alumni, BSA teachers and BSA owners and triangulation of techniques using Observation, Interview and documentation.

Abstract

This study aims to find how slang words can provide valuable insights for language educators in Bali in enhancing language instruction and cultural understanding among students. The methodology used in this study was qualitative. This study was carried out in schools in Bali. Data for this study were gathered by documentation, interviews, and observation. This study resulted and discussed that slang words can provide valuable insights for language educators in Bali in enhancing language instruction and cultural understanding among students in the following ways, Cultural Relevance: Slang words are often deeply rooted in the culture and daily life of a community. Informal Communication: Slang words are predominantly used in informal settings, such as conversations among friends or peers. Nuances and Expressions: Slang words often convey specific nuances and expressions that may not be easily translated or understood through formal language instruction alone. Language Evolution: Slang words are dynamic and reflect the ever-evolving nature of language. Bridging Generational Gaps: Slang words are often associated with younger generations. It is recommended for further researcher to expand the topic.

Abstract

Lifestyle and challenges found by many Gen Z individuals demotivate for a number of reasons. Therefore, it will be important to provide more mental health resources, namely, “The Book of Forbidden Feelings”. This study aims to find out what utterances that use figurative languages that contain connotative meanings occurring on The Book of Forbidden Feelings and how those figurative languages that contain connotative meanings provide mental health resources to demotivated Gen Z individuals. This research used qualitative research to describe the utterances that use figurative languages that contain connotative meanings on The Book of Forbidden Feelings. In this study, the researchers applied types of meaning theory with the scope of connotative meaning to describe the utterances that use figurative languages that contain connotative meanings on the Book of Forbidden Feelings. Besides, the researchers interviewed 3 Gen Z Individuals who had read the book as a purposive sample to see their perception towards how those figurative languages that contain connotative meanings provide mental health resources to demotivated Gen Z individuals. The result shows that the utterances that use figurative languages that contain connotative meanings on the book guiding the readers to let things be as they are and surrender with sincerity. In addition, those figurative languages that contain connotative meanings provide mental health resources to demotivated Gen Z individuals by leading them to acceptance when they struggle with sadness. This study recommend that future researcher should provide more examples and theories

Abstract

This research aims to figure out the types of code-switching applied in the Emily in Paris Netflix Series comes along with finding the meaning underlies in the code-switching used in each utterance. The data of this research were taken from the transcription of Emily in Paris Netflix Series Season 4. The data were collected through documentation method with the note taking technique. Descriptive-qualitative method was used to analyze the data. The theory used to analyze the types of code-switching proposed by Appel and Muysken (2005) and the theory to analyze the types of meaning proposed by Leech (1981). From the findings and analysis, it is found that there are seven tag-switches, nine intra-sentential, and nine inter-sentential language-switching applied in the utterances from the series. Along with that, it is also found that the conceptual meaning implied in ten data, connotative meaning implied in one data, four data with social meaning, seven data with affective meaning, and one data in reflected meaning. Abstract

Kualitas pelayanan publik di Kantor Camat Denpasar Utara saat ini sudah berada pada tingkat yang baik, dengan rata-rata nilai survei kepuasan konsumen mencapai 93,15%. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat peluang untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan tersebut guna mencapai kepuasan yang lebih tinggi dan meningkatkan efisiensi kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi optimalisasi pelayanan melalui metode edukasi pelayanan prima kepada pegawai. Metode yang digunakan meliputi implementasi program edukasi pelayanan prima dan evaluasi kinerja pasca pelatihan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan pelayanan prima dapat meningkatkan pemahaman pegawai terhadap pentingnya kualitas pelayanan dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan kepuasan masyarakat.

Abstract

Generation Z (Gen Z), the younger demographic increasingly entering voting age, plays a crucial role in the democratic process. However, their understanding of the voting system and the procedures involved still needs reinforcement. This article discusses the importance of socialization among Gen Z regarding the voting system and understanding the procedures involved. Through an educational approach relevant to the current context of technology and time, socialization can enhance their participation and comprehension within the democratic process. This socialization can be carried out through various media, such as social media platforms, voter education campaigns, and formal educational programs in village. By understanding their rights and responsibilities as voters, Gen Z can become more actively involved in general elections, selecting candidates who represent their values and aspirations. Awareness of the importance of participation in the democratic process and understanding the mechanisms of voting can strengthen the foundation of an inclusive and sustainable democracy
