Abstract

Background Small businesses are vital contributors to global economies but often face challenges in managing financial processes due to resource limitations and lack of technical expertise. Traditional accounting systems, while reliable, demand significant investments and are prone to errors when used manually. The advent of cloud-based accounting systems (CBAS) offers a solution, providing small businesses with affordable, scalable, and efficient tools to manage their financial operations. However, despite their potential, the adoption of CBAS remains uneven, with many businesses hesitant due to perceived barriers like data security concerns and lack of technical knowledge. Aims This study aims to: Investigate the key drivers and barriers influencing the adoption of CBAS among small businesses. Analyze the impact of CBAS on financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance. Highlight the role of training and technical support in ensuring successful CBAS adoption. Provide practical insights through case studies of businesses that have successfully integrated CBAS. Offer recommendations to stakeholders for promoting broader adoption and maximizing the benefits of CBAS. Research Method The study employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques to provide a comprehensive analysis. A survey was conducted among 250 small business owners across various industries to gather quantitative data on adoption drivers, barriers, and impacts. In addition, 30 in-depth interviews were carried out to gain qualitative insights into the experiences and perceptions of CBAS users. The research also incorporated secondary data from industry reports, case studies, and academic literature to triangulate findings. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) theory provided the theoretical frameworks for analyzing the results. Results and Conclusion CBAS adoption is primarily driven by ease of use, cost-effectiveness, and competitive advantage, but is hindered by concerns over data security, lack of technical expertise, and perceived complexity. Businesses that adopted CBAS reported a 35% reduction in accounting errors, improved compliance with tax regulations, and enhanced decision-making capabilities. Operational efficiency significantly improved, with time savings averaging 20 hours per month and optimized workflows leading to better resource utilization. Training and technical support were identified as critical factors in overcoming barriers and ensuring successful adoption. Conclusion: CBAS offers transformative benefits for small businesses, including improved accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. However, addressing barriers such as knowledge gaps and security concerns is essential to realize its full potential. The study highlights the need for collaborative efforts among CBAS providers, policymakers, and small businesses to foster broader adoption and leverage the advantages of cloud-based technologies.

Abstract

This study explores the critical role of integrating financial literacy into community banking models as a strategic pathway to economic empowerment, particularly in the underserved and unbanked areas of Indonesia. Despite the growth of formal financial institutions, a significant portion of the population remains excluded, with community banks and microfinance institutions serving as vital last-mile solutions. However, their long-term impact is often constrained by a lack of financial knowledge and poor behavioral habits among community members. This paper emphasizes how the strategic intersection of knowledge dissemination, financial inclusion, and sustained behavior change can create more robust and sustainable community banking ecosystems. Using a qualitative research methodology that synthesizes theoretical frameworks from behavioral economics, the capability approach, and social capital theory with empirical case studies from community banks in West Java and Central Sulawesi, the research identifies key drivers and barriers to effective integration. It proposes a scalable model where educational content is co-designed with community input, delivered through localized and hybrid channels, and leveraged by local champions. This approach aims not only to increase participation in formal banking but also to foster informed financial decision-making, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and empowered local economy.

Abstract

Marketing plays a crucial role in improving company performance. However, the relationship between marketing strategy and company performance is not always linear. The phenomenon known as the marketing duality effect shows the complexity in the interactions between marketing variables and company performance. To overcome the empirical obstacles associated with understanding duality effects, the response surface approach has been proposed as an effective analytical tool. This research aims to investigate the effects of marketing duality on firm performance and uses a response surface approach to overcome the related empirical obstacles. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis method to explore understanding of the effects of marketing duality and a quantitative response surface analysis method to model the relationship between marketing variables and company performance. The analysis shows that the duality effect of marketing has a significant impact on company performance, with interactions between marketing variables being complex and not always linear. By using a response surface approach, we can identify complex patterns in the relationships between marketing variables and company performance, and design more adaptive and responsive marketing strategies.

Abstract

Social media has become a space for gathering and socializing horizontally and vertically, enabling direct and simultaneous communication. However, with increasing use, a social psychology issue has emerged: FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), or the fear of missing out on information. FOMO encourages individuals to behave as if they are part of something bigger, even if they are not actively involved. This phenomenon impacts mental health and communication styles in a digital society. This study examines the impact of FOMO and communal behavior on the psychology of mass communication on social media, particularly among millennials and Generation Z. The method used was a literature review, referencing recent journals and scientific articles. The results indicate that social conditions acquired through social media are directly related to increased FOMO. Therefore, effective communication and digital literacy are crucial for managing social media use to minimize the negative impacts of FOMO while maintaining healthy social interactions. These findings emphasize the need for user awareness and greater discretion in using social media to support mental well-being and quality communication in a digital society.
