Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning bernuansa etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi aritmetika sosial. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan 4D (Four-D) yang termodifikasi dengan menggunakan tiga tahap saja, yaitu: 1) tahap pendefinisian (define); 2) tahap perancangan (design), dan; 3) tahap pengembangan (develop). Kuesioner digunakan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data serta analisis data menggunakan deskriptif secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skor kelayakan buku ajar dari ahli materi dan ahli praktisi masing-masing sebesar 95,90% dan 92,12% sehingga kriteria buku ajar sangat layak, skor keterbacaan dari pengguna sebesar 85,50% sehingga kriteria buku ajar mudah dipahami, dan skor respon siswa SMP sebesar 91,67% menunjukkan buku ajar mendapat respon yang sangat baik. Dengan demikian buku ajar berbasis Problem Based Learning bernuansa etnomatematika sangat layak untuk diimplementasikan dalam kelas sasaran

Abstract

Abstrak. Salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa adalah penggunaan bahan ajar yang kurang kontekstual, sehingga dibutuhkan bahan ajar kontekstual yang disajikan secara menarik. Salah satunya adalah dengan mengimplementasikan etnomatematika ke dalam bahan ajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis etnomatematika pada Museum Kartini untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa materi bangun datar segi empat. Metode yang digunakan merupakan modifikasi dari model 4D menjadi tiga tahap saja, yaitu: tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design), dan tahap pengembangan (develop). Bahan ajar ini divalidasi oleh dua ahli dan dua praktisi untuk peninjauan kelayakan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Uji coba pengembangan produk ditujukan kepada tiga siswa SMP kelas VII, VIII, dan IX sebagai sasaran pengguna bahan ajar dan lima mahasiswa sesuai kriteria sebagai pengamat atas keterbacaan bahan ajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar ini sangat layak, mudah dipahami, dan mendapat respons yang sangat baik dari siswa. Dengan demikian, produk ini dapat diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran matematika.Kata kunci: Bahan Ajar, Etnomatematika, Hasil Belajar Siswa, Museum Kartini.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan bahan ajar dengan model Challenge Based Learning bernuansa Etnomatematika melalui objek bangunan tempat ibadah di Kota Cirebon terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Bahan ajar ini berfokus pada materi luas permukaan bangun ruang sisi datar untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian dan pengembangan dilakukan menggunakan metode 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate), namun hanya sampai pada tahap Develop. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah angket dengan menggunakan lembar kelayakan, lembar keterbacaan, dan angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah teknik deskriptif presentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai kelayakan mencapai persentase rata-rata sebesar dengan kategori sangat layak, nilai keterbacaan mencapai persentase rata-rata dengan kategori tinggi, dan respons siswa mencapai persentase rata-rata dengan kategori sangat baik. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh yaitu bahan ajar yang dikembangkan ini layak dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam kegiatan pembelajaran matematika. Untuk penelitian lebih lanjut dapat dilaksanakan untuk menguji efektivitas dari bahan ajar tersebut terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

The assumption that mathematics is a difficult and boring subject result in students' lack of understanding of the mathematics. Lack of teacher creativity in carrying out learning is also considered as one of the causes of these problems. There needs to be innovation in learning mathematics such as the development of innovative teaching materials and in accordance with the characteristics of students. This study aims to develop teaching materials for social arithmetic with Ethnomatematics nuances on Dumbeg objects. Development research with a 4D model that is adjusted to 3D is carried out by paying attention to each stage from define, design, to develop. The data in the study were obtained through interviews, ethnographic notes, and questionnaires which were then analyzed descriptively quantitatively to obtain prototypes of teaching materials that were appropriate, easy to understand, and had a good response to students. The results of the study show that teaching materials are appropriate, easy to understand, and have a good response to students. The feasibility of teaching materials can be seen from the final scores by experts and practitioners of 82.93% and 90.67%, respectively. The readability of teaching materials can be seen from the final score of the readers of 89%. Student responses can be seen from the final score of 95%. Thus, the developed prototype is ready to be implemented in class.

Abstract

This study aims to develop ethnomathematics teaching materials through engklek with game-based learning on students’ creative thinking skills. Research and development using the ADDIE model which is modified into ADD (Analysis, Design, dan Develop) was carried out with data collection techniques were observation, questionnaires, and documentation, while the data analysis techniques were descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the feasibility score was 84.5% in the feasible category, the readability score was 81.5% in the very easy to understand category, and the student response score was 79% in the positive category. This study concludes that ethnomathematics teaching materials through engklek with game-based learning on students' creative thinking abilities are appropriate to be used as a medium for learning mathematics for students at the SMP/MTs level. The suggestions in this study are to develop better teaching materials and test their implementation on a wider scope in future research

Abstract

The low mathematical understanding and reasoning skills of students along with abstract mathematical concepts make it difficult for students to understand mathematical concepts. So, new development innovations are needed in presenting mathematics learning to improve students' basic math skills. This research aims to explore the buildings in the Sam Poo Kong temple in finding mathematical concepts. This research is exploratory, the research method used is descriptive-qualitative, and the approach is ethnography because it studies cultural phenomena in society. The results of this study show that in the Sam Poo Kong temple there are ethnomathematics concepts related to geometric transformation material including 1) translation on the roof, pillars, and statues; 2) reflection on the overall structure of the temple building, ornaments, and the entrance gate of Sam Poo Kong; 3) rotation on lanterns and walls of hope; and 4) dilation on the structure of the roof and lanterns. From the research, it can be concluded that Sam Poo Kong temple presents the concept of geometry transformation, namely translation, reflection, rotation, and dilation.

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is an important aspect in facing the era of disruption. Based on the results of PISA and TIMSS studies, the mathematical creative thinking ability of students in Indonesia is still low. Challenge Based Learning (CBL) presents an alternative solution to address this problem. On the other hand, ethnomathematics and instagram will bring their own meaningfulness to students' learning. The innovation of CBL with an ethnomathematics nuance, supported by instagram, becomes one alternative in developing mathematical creative thinking abilities. This study aims to describe the effect of CBL with an ethnomathematics nuance supported by instagram on mathematical creative thinking ability through a literature review. The literature review analysis was conducted on relevant national and international studies. The facts show that the use of CBL models makes students more creative and innovative, thus developing their mathematical creative thinking ability. The CBL framework integrated with ethnomathematics supported by instagram will provide a unique learning significance for students. The results of the literature review indicate that the innovative CBL model with an ethnomathematics nuance supported by instagram can have a positive impact on students' mathematical creative thinking ability.

Abstract

Memberikan inovasi dalam setiap proses pembelajaran menjadi tanggung jawab bagi pendidik. Terlihat belum berkembang dengan baik kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, perlu dikembangkan sebuah bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Inovasi bahan ajar terintegrasi challenge based on ethnomathematics learning merupakan salah satu alternatif solusi menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model 4D dilaksanakan untuk mengembangkan produk yang layak, mudah dipahami, efektif dan memiliki respons positif. Studi literatur, wawancara, angket dan tes dilakukan untuk memperoleh data yang kemudian dianalisis baik secara deskriptif kuantitatif, uji statistik dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk layak dengan skor 90,56% dan mudah dipahami dengan skor 92%. Adapun hasil implementasi menujukkan efektivitas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Lebih lanjut, siswa sepakat bahwa produk memberikan respons positif terhadap keberlangsungan belajar di kelas dengan skor 97%. Capaian ini merupakan keberhasilan atas inovasi yang telah dikembangkan sehingga dapat disebarluaskan khususnya dalam rangka memenuhi kebutuhan belajar materi statistika. Lebih lanjut, dapat dikembangkan bahan ajar untuk materi lain dengan memperhatikan integrasi model challenge based on ethnomathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop problem based learning in ethnomathematics-based textbooks through Sego Boranan's buying and selling activities to improve students' problem-solving abilities in social arithmetic material. Research & development were carried out a procedure of 3D (Define, Design, & Develop). The feasibility assessment was carried out by experts and practitioners using the feasibility sheet, the readability assessment by students who had obtained Social Arithmetic material using readability sheets, and student responses by students who were studying Social Arithmetic material using a student response questionnaire. The textbooks developed were included in the very feasible criteria, was easy to understand, and very feasible to be implemented in learning mathematics. Although it is suggested that using an experimental method can test the  effectiveness of using this textbook on learning outcomes and students' problem-solving abilities, this paper presented examples of ethnomathematics problem solving that can be practically implemented in mathematics classrooms.

Abstract

Presenting meaningfulness in the process of learning mathematics is something that must be prioritized to achieve the goals of learning mathematics. One alternative that can be done is through Ethnomatematics integration and the implementation of the Discover Learning model. This research aims to develop. Developing Discovery Learning-based textbook with Ethnomathematics nuances at the Masjid Al Mahdi Magelang on students' reasoning abilities is the aim of this research. Research and development with a modified 4D model into 3D consisting of Define, Design, and Develop has been carried out well. The feasibility validation form, readability form, and student questionnaire form were analyzed descriptively quantitatively to collect the data. From the results, it was obtained the results of the feasibility validation of the textbook with a percentage of 89.40%, the results of the assessment of the readability of textbook with a percentage of 89%, and the results of students' responses to textbook with a percentage of 86.66%. Overall, the textbook with ethnomathematics nuances at the Masjid Al Mahdi Magelang are feasible and easy to understand. It is ready to be implemented in learning mathematics in 8th grade.
