Abstract

This study aims to determine the information seeking behavior of Covid-19 and the obstacles faced by the people of the Sindang Sari area, Panyileukan District, Bandung City. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The informants in this study were 5 residents of the Sindang Sari area, Panyileukan District, Bandung City. Collecting data through observation, literature study, documentation and interviews. Data analysis using data collection, data reduction and drawing conclusions. The results obtained indicate that the pattern of information search for the people of the Sindang Sari area, Panyileukan District, Bandung City is influenced by a person's psychological factors, demographics, one's role in society, the environment, and the characteristics of available information sources according to Wilson's theory. As for the obstacles faced when searching for information, namely the presence of anxiety and fear after accessing information about Covid-19; ignorance in determining reliable information; terms related to Covid-19; less stable signal; and social distancing policies that limit informants.

Abstract

A public library is a type of library that can be accessed or used by the general public. The importance of the library as a source of knowledge certainly requires comfortable room conditions by facilitating in it to facilitate the activities of both librarian and visitors who use the space. There is an adult reading room service at the DISPUSIPDA Public Library (West Java Regional Library and Archives Service). The purpose of this study was to find out how the layout of the furniture in the adult reading room of the DISPUSIPDA Public Library (West Java Regional Library and Archives Service). Researchers used qualitative research using descriptive methods with data collection techniques with direct observation, interviews with librarians of the DISPUSIPDA Public Library (West Java Regional Library and Archives Service). The results showed that the layout of the furniture in the adult reading room service was very comfortable with adequate quality equipment/furniture, a complete collection of books, and a discussion room inside. The layout of the furniture in the adult reading room is very ergonomic, making it easier for librarians and users to carry out activities in the room.Keywords: library furniture, reading room, DISPUSIPDAABSTRAK Perpustakaan umum adalah jenis perpustakaan yang dapat diakses atau digunakan oleh masyarakat umum. Pentingnya perpustakaan sebagai  sumber ilmu pengetahuan tentunya membutuhkan kondisi ruangan yang nyaman dengan memfasilitasi didalamnya untuk memudahkan aktivitas baik petugas perpustakaan maupun pengunjung yang menggunakan ruang tersebut. Terdapat layanan ruang baca dewasa di Perpustakaan Umum DISPUSIPDA (Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Jawa Barat). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana tata letak perabotan di ruang baca dewasa Perpustakaan Umum DISPUSIPDA (Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Jawa Barat). Peneliti menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan pada penelitian ini adalah pustakawan Perpustakaan Umum DISPUSIPDA (Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Jawa Barat). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tata letak perabot di layanan ruang baca dewasa sangat nyaman dengan kualitas peralatan/ perabot yang memadai, kolesi buku yang lengkap, dan didalamnya dilengkapi dengan ruang diskusi. Tata letak perabot diruang baca dewasa sangat ergonomis sehingga memudahkan pustakawan dan pemustaka dalam beraktivitas di ruangan tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine library preparedness in dealing with fire disasters at the Regional Library and Archives Service of West Java Province. This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The subjects of this research are the general section of electricity, and the part of the library manager. The results of this study indicate that preparedness in dealing with fire disasters has been implemented at the Regional Library and Archives Service of West Java Province. At the prevention stage, the library conducts routine inspections of buildings where collections are stored, electricity, supplies of equipment used to anticipate fire disasters, and makes regulations. At the response stage, in the form of disaster response training activities for librarians and employees, maintenance of equipment and electricity, as well as identifying important collections and letters so that they are stored on floors that are easily accessible. In the reaction stage, the library makes various Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to disaster preparedness. During the recovery phase, routine risk management analysis activities are carried out. As for the advice given, it is hoped that the library can maximize the implementation of fire disaster preparedness by implementing existing SOP.Keyword: disaster preparedness, fire, public libraryABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesiapsiagaan perpustakaan dalam menghadapi bencana kebakaran di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian ini yaitu bagian umum kelistrikan, dan bagian pengelola perpustakaan.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi bencana kebakaran sudah diterapkan di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Daerah Provinsi Jawa Barat. Pada tahap pencegahan, perpustakaan melakukan pemeriksaan secara rutin terhadap bangunan tempat penyimpanan koleksi, kelistrikan, penyediaan peralatan yang digunakan untuk mengantisipasi bencana kebakaran, dan membuat peraturan. Pada tahap tanggapan, berupa kegiatan pelatihan tanggap bencana bagi pustakawan dan karyawan, pemeliharaan peralatan dan kelistrikan, serta mengidentifikasi koleksi dan surat penting agar disimpan pada lantai yang mudah terjangkau. Pada tahap reaksi, perpustakaan membuat berbagai Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) yang berkaitan dengan kesiapsiagaan bencana. Pada tahap pemulihan, berupa kegiatan analisis manajemen resiko yang rutin dilakukan. Adapun saran yang diberikan diharapkan perpustakaan dapat memaksimalkan pelaksanaan kesiapsiagaan bencana kebakaran dengan menjalankan SOP yang ada.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the role of librarians in increasing students' reading interest motivation at SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey. The purpose of this study is to determine the procurement of collections, extend service hours, tutoring and spatial arrangements available in the library in motivating students' reading interest and knowing the role of librarians in motivating students' reading interest. The theory used in this study is Abraham Maslow's Theory of Motivation. This theory suggests that basically all humans have basic needs. Self-actualization needs cognitive needs knowing, understanding, and exploring, aesthetic needs of harmony, order, and beauty. The conclusion of this study is that the role of librarians in increasing students' reading interest motivation at SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey. With the role of librarians in procuring collections, it is certainly very useful for students and teachers who often visit the library. In addition, the extension of service hours will greatly assist students in borrowing or returning books. With tutoring, it really helps students in getting information, motivation in reading. As well as the influence of library spatial arrangements greatly affect users and librarians. In addition, the role of librarians is very important to help students in motivating students' reading interest. Keyword: librarian role, motivation, reading interest, SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh peran pustakawan dalam meningkatkan motivasi minat membaca siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengadaan koleksi, perpanjangan jam layanan, bimbingan belajar dan penataan ruang yang tersedia di perpustakaan dalam memotivasi minat baca siswa dan mengetahui peran pustakawan dalam memotivasi minat membaca siswa. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori Motivasi Abraham Maslow. Teori ini mengemukakan bahwa pada dasarnya semua manusia mempunyai kebutuhan dasar. Aktualisasi diri membutuhkan kebutuhan kognitif mengetahui, memahami, dan mengeksplorasi, kebutuhan estetis akan keselarasan, keteraturan, dan keindahan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah peran pustakawan dalam meningkatkan motivasi minat membaca siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Ciwidey. Dengan adanya peran pustakawan dalam pengadaan koleksi tentunya sangat bermanfaat bagi siswa dan guru yang sering berkunjung ke perpustakaan. Selain itu, perpanjangan jam layanan akan sangat membantu mahasiswa dalam peminjaman atau pengembalian buku. Dengan adanya bimbingan belajar sangat membantu siswa dalam mendapatkan informasi, motivasi dalam membaca. Serta pengaruh penataan ruang perpustakaan sangat mempengaruhi pengguna dan pustakawan. Selain itu peran pustakawan sangat penting untuk membantu siswa dalam memotivasi minat membaca siswa.

Abstract

The background for creating this work is the lack of implementation of preservation practices at the UPT Central Library of the Islamic Nusantara University. This has led to significant damage to the library collections. The main cause of this phenomenon is the lack of education among the librarians who manage the library. The purpose of creating this instructional video is to provide education and insights on how to practice the preservation of library collections, especially for librarians at the UPT Central Library of the Islamic Nusantara University and the general public. The constructivism paradigm is employed in this work, utilizing a qualitative approach and the information behavior Wilson model. The chosen delivery method is instructional videos published on the YouTube platform. The data collection technique used includes field observation, interviews, and documentation methods. This work aims to educate users on carrying out preventive preservation practices to prevent damage to library collections, especially books. The use of video media, disseminated through the YouTube platform, serves as a means of delivering educational material for the preservation of library collections, ensuring that the material easily reaches the audience. The delivery is simple and coherent language, along with well-organized video arrangements, is also expected to be well-received by a wide audience. After its publication, this instructional video work received a lot of positive feedback on the YouTube platform of LCO Fikom Uninus. Keyword: library collection preservation, preventive preservation, instructional video ABSTRAK Pembuatan karya ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum diterapkannya praktik preservasi di UPT Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas Islam Nusantara. Hal tersebut menyebabkan banyak koleksi perpustakaan yang mengalami kerusakan, fenomena ini disebabkan oleh belum teredukasinya pustakawan yang mengelola perpustakaan tersebut. Tujuan dari dibuatnya video instruksional ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi dan wawasan tentang bagaimana cara melakukan praktik pelestarian koleksi perpustakaan kepada pustakawan khususnya di UPT Perpustakaan Pusat Universitas Islam Nusantara dan umumnya kepada masyarakat. Paradigma yang digunakan dalam karya ini adalah paradigma konstruktivisme, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan model perilaku informasi Wilson. Metode penyampaian yang digunakan adalah melalui video instruksional yang dipublikasikan lewat platform Youtube. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai disini yaitu melalui observasi lapangan dengan metode wawancara dan dokumentasi. Karya ini diharapkan dapat memberikan edukasi kepada pemustaka untuk dapat melakukan praktik preservasi secara preventif untuk mencegah kerusakan pada koleksi perpustakaan khususnya buku. Penggunaan media video yang disebarluaskan dalam platform Youtube sebagai penyampai materi edukasi pelestarian koleksi perpustakaan bertujuan agar materi tersebut dapat dengan mudah sampai kepada audience. Penyampaian dengan bahasa yang mudah dipahami dan susunan video yang runtut juga diharapkan dapat diterima dengan baik oleh khalayak luas. Setelah dipublikasikan, karya video instruksional ini mendapat banyak feedback positif di platform Youtube LCO Fikom Uninus.

Abstract

Good furniture can certainly make users feel comfortable, safe, and free from any complaints or discomfort while carrying out activities. Therefore, there is a need for ergonomic furniture that can support the activities of library managers and library users. This research aims to determine the availability of furniture for library managers and users using the ENASE ergonomic approach at the Dinas Perpustakaan and Arsip of Bandung Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The objects of this research are the furniture for library managers and library users, including work desks and chairs, as well as reading desks and chairs. The subjects of this research are three librarians, two library staff members, three library users, and head of library management division. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process in this research includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The validation of the research results is using members check. The results of the research show that the desks and chairs used by library managers and reading desks for library users available at the Dinas Perpustakaan and Arsip of Bandung Regency, can be considered ergonomic since they satisfy four out of the five aspects: effective, comfort, safety, and efficiency. However, the aspect of health remains unfulfilled due to ongoing complaints expressed by the library manager regarding the usage of the available work facilities, which do not meet the standards outlined in PERMENKES No. 48 of 2016. The health aspect is also not fully met for reading desks used by library users, as there are still complaints and discomfort experienced by users when using the furniture. However, Dinas Perpustakaan and Arsip of Bandung Regency has provided alternative options so users can adjust the furniture they will use.

Abstract

The book data registered was 541 copies, including 503 copies of books that were slightly damaged and 38 copies of books that were heavily damaged due to human factors in the adult reading room. damage to books due to human factors, often read by users so that the books are damaged or scratched. This research discusses the prevention of Bibliocrime and the competence of librarians in preventing Bibliocrime. The aim of this research is to determine the soft competence of librarians in terms of achievements and actions, customer service orientation, self-control in physical, electronic and procedural forms to prevent bibliocrime in the Regional Library and Archives Service of West Java Province. The research method in this research is that the researcher uses the constructivism paradigm in his research paradigm. The method used uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The theory used uses Spencer & Spencer. The results of the research show that librarians at the West Java Province Regional Library and Archives Service already have librarian soft competence in preventing bibliocrime in library collections in physical, electronic and procedural forms. However, the librarian's soft competence when viewed from the aspects of achievement and action, customer service orientation, and self-control is still at a low level. increasing the soft competence of librarians in dealing with bibliocrime by conducting comparative studies, attending seminars and holding FGDs on topics related to bibliocrime.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini mengkaji peran komunitas Ruang Berbagi dalam meningkatkan literasi masyarakat di Manokwari, Papua Barat, sebuah wilayah dengan tantangan geografis dan sosial yang signifikan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melibatkan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program-program yang dilaksanakan oleh Ruang Berbagi, seperti taman bacaan masyarakat, kampanye literasi berbasis budaya lokal, pelatihan literasi digital, dan program mendongeng, berhasil meningkatkan minat baca dan keterampilan literasi masyarakat, khususnya anak-anak dan remaja. Pendekatan berbasis komunitas, kolaborasi lintas sektor, dan integrasi nilai-nilai budaya lokal menjadi kunci keberhasilan program ini. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa model literasi berbasis komunitas seperti yang diterapkan Ruang Berbagi dapat direplikasi di wilayah lain dengan kondisi serupa untuk mendukung pengembangan literasi dan pemberdayaan masyarakat. Kata kunci: Literasi Komunitas, Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Pendidikan Informal, Manokwari, Program Literasi   Abstract The study examines the Ruang Berbagi community in improving community literacy in Manokwari, West Papua. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews with four active colleagues, and documentation. Volunteers were selected based on their involvement in community-based literacy programs. Programs such as reading parks, local culture-based literacy campaigns, digital literacy training, and storytelling have successfully increased reading interest and literacy skills, especially for children and adolescents. The success of the program is supported by a community-based approach, cross-sector collaboration, and integration of local cultural values. The community-based literacy model implemented by Ruang Berbagi can be replicated in other areas to support literacy development and community empowerment. Abstract

Era disrupsi dan globalisasi merupakan era yang menawarkan segala kemudahan, kecanggihan, dan keterbukaan dalam berbagai bidang termasuk mengenai informasi, dan teknologi, sehingga memberikan tantangan baru bagi lembaga informasi seperti perpustakaan, kearsipan, dan museum. Tantangan tersebut dapat dihadapi dengan memaksimalkan segala potensi yang dimiliki, meliputi koleksi, dan sumber daya manusia yang dimiliki, sehingga dapat memunculkan inovasi dan kreativitas baru yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat saat ini. Adapun peran yang dapat dilakukan oleh perpustakaan antara lain menjadi pemfilter infomasi, dan menjadi mitra kerja pengguna informasi. Peran kearsipan antara lain dapat menyajikan informasi yang dapat dijadikan alat bukti yang otentik, dan menjadi sumber informasi dalam menjaga stabilitas ekonomi. Adapun peran Museum antara lain sebagai wadah komunikasi antar budaya dan wadah pendidikan masyarakat.   ABSTRACT  The era of disruption and globalization is an era that offers all conveniences, sophistication and openness in various fields including information and technology, thus providing new challenges for information institutions such as libraries, archives and museums. These challenges can be faced by maximizing all the potential that is owned, including collections, and human resources that are owned, so that it can bring new innovations and creativity that are in line with the needs of today's society. The roles that can be carried out by the library include becoming information filterers, and becoming partners of information users. The role of archiving can, among other things, present information that can be used as authentic evidence, and become a source of information in maintaining economic stability. The role of the Museum, among others, is as a forum for intercultural communication and public education.

Abstract

This study is to determine the implementation of preservation activities in the Ajip Rosidi Library in terms of how to save the value of information, how to save the physical form of Sundanese literature collections that are owned, and the obstacles faced in implementing the preservation of Sundanese literature collections. The method used in this research is descriptive research method. with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation study. There are two informants in this study. The results show that in order to save the value of the collection information, the library has converted the 200-year-old Sundanese Literature collection into microfilm or microfish which later, due to technological developments, was converted into CDs and hard drives. In saving the physical form of the collection, librarians carry out activities of mending, binding, giving silica gell, cleaning manually, and making policies in the form of library regulations. As for the obstacles experienced during the implementation of preservation of Sundanese Literature collection, namely related to human resource factors, funding factors, and environmental factors.Keywords: preservation; sundanese literature collection; ajip rosidi libraryABSTRAKPenelitian ini untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan kegiatan pelestarian di Perpustakaan Ajip Rosidi dilihat dari cara menyelamatkan nilai informasi, cara menyelamatkan bentuk fisik koleksi sastra sunda yang dimiliki, dan hambatan yang dihadapi dalam melaksanakan pelestarian koleksi sastra sunda.. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara serta studi dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah dua orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam menyelamatkan nilai informasi koleksi, maka perpustakaan mengalih bentukkan koleksi Sastra Sunda yang memiliki umur 200 tahun kedalam bentuk microfilm atau microfish yang kemudian karena perkembangan teknologi diubah dalam bentuk CD dan hardisk. Dalam menyelamatkan bentu fisik koleksi, maka pustakawan melakukan kegiatan mending, penjilidan, pemberian silica gell, membersihkan secara manual, dan membuat kebijakkan berupa peraturan perpustakaan. Adapun hambatan yang dialami pada saat pelaksanaan pelestarian koleksi Sastra Sunda, yaitu berkaitan dengan faktor sumber daya manusia, faktor pendanaan, dan faktor lingkungan.
