Abstract

Academic stress refers to mental and emotional pressure arising from educational demands, commonly experienced by students, especially medical students due to their complex academic workload. Prolonged stress can trigger an increase in cortisol levels, which promotes glucose release into the bloodstream, potentially raising blood sugar levels. This study aimed to examine the relationship between academic stress levels and random blood glucose levels among medical students at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta as an early effort to detect the risk of prediabetes. A cross-sectional design was used with 70 respondents. Academic stress levels were measured using a Heart Rate Variability Analyzer, while random blood glucose levels were assessed using a gluco test strip. Results showed that all respondents had normal blood glucose levels, with varying stress levels: 30.0% were categorized as excellent and 12.9% as bad. Spearman correlation test indicated no significant relationship between academic stress and random blood glucose levels (p = 0.134; r = 0.181). These findings suggest that the absence of a significant correlation may be influenced by the respondents' young age and optimal metabolic condition, which could mitigate the physiological impact of stress on blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Marriage is a crucial phase in life that requires optimal physical and mental readiness. High levels of stress in prospective spouses can impact their health, relationships, and the quality of their married life. This study aims to analyze the effect of physical and mental health checks on the stress levels of prospective spouses in Ciruas District, Banten Province. The study design used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment and a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews. A sample of 132 people was determined using the Slovin formula and the purposive sampling technique. The variables studied included blood pressure, BMI, hemoglobin levels, infectious diseases, and mental conditions based on the GAD-7. The intervention was carried out in the form of premarital health checks and education. Research Results: Quantitatively, the average stress score of prospective spouses before the intervention was 8.45 and decreased to 6.13 after the intervention, indicating a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.000). Most respondents (97%) were in good physical condition, and mental examinations showed an increase in psychological stability after counseling. Qualitative data revealed that partner support, perceptions of test results, and counseling experiences influenced stress reduction, while barriers included limited access to services, concerns about test results, and low health literacy. This study concluded that physical and mental health screenings significantly reduced stress levels for prospective spouses.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a critical phase for maternal physical and psychological recovery. This study conducted a systematic literature review following PRISMA guidelines to evaluate scientific evidence on the effects of honey on the well-being of postpartum mothers and their infants, including wound healing, breast milk production, sleep quality, mood, and infant growth. Literature searches across five databases (2015–2025) yielded 10 eligible articles, which were thematically analyzed with quality assessment using the CEBM Critical Appraisal Tools. Findings indicate that honey positively contributes to perineal and episiotomy wound healing, increased breast milk production, improved sleep quality, mood stabilization, and reduced fatigue, with effectiveness influenced by maternal nutritional status, regularity of consumption, psychosocial support, and health literacy. Honey has potential as a natural intervention for postpartum mothers, although further research with standardized methodologies is required.

Abstract

Perineal wounds, postpartum pain, anemia, and low breast milk production are common problems in postpartum mothers that can reduce their quality of life. Topical and oral use of honey has been shown to accelerate wound healing, reduce pain, increase hemoglobin levels, and increase breast milk production. The study's objectives were to determine the effectiveness of primary honey dressing of perineal wounds and acacia honey consumption in improving the quality of life of postpartum mothers. This pre-experimental study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest with a control group. Using a total sampling technique, the sample size was 40 postpartum mothers, consisting of 20 in the treatment group and 20 in the control group. The intervention consisted of a primary honey dressing on the perineal wound and acacia honey consumption for 21 days. The instruments used included the REEDA scale, the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), hemoglobin level measurements, and breast milk volume measurements. Data analysis used the Independent T-Test and Paired T-Test. There were significant differences between the treatment and control groups in terms of perineal wound healing (p<0.05), reduced pain intensity (p<0.05), increased hemoglobin levels (p<0.05), and increased breast milk production (p<0.05). Primary honey dressing on the perineal wound and acacia honey consumption was effective in accelerating wound healing, reducing postpartum pain, increasing hemoglobin levels, and increasing breast milk production, all of which contributed to an overall improvement in the quality of life of postpartum mothers. It is recommended that healthcare professionals consider using honey in obstetric care, particularly in postpartum maternal monitoring. This implementation can be a promotive and preventive strategy in maternal health care.

Abstract

Organizational resilience has become a strategic necessity in increasingly volatile and uncertain environments. This study examines how strategic human resource management (HRM) practices specifically HR flexibility, leadership agility, and strategic workforce planning contribute to enhancing organizational resilience. The research problem lies in the fragmented understanding of how these HR components interact and under what conditions they effectively foster resilience. To address this, the study aims to develop a conceptual model integrating these three HRM dimensions, with employee engagement as a mediating variable and organizational culture as a moderating factor. A qualitative exploratory approach was applied through a structured literature review of 35 peer reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024. Thematic content analysis was conducted using NVivo software to identify patterns and relationships among the variables. The findings reveal that HR flexibility supports operational adaptability, leadership agility enhances strategic responsiveness, and workforce planning ensures long term preparedness. Employee engagement amplifies the effectiveness of these HR strategies, while organizational culture determines the extent to which they translate into resilience outcomes. This integrative framework highlights the importance of aligning HR practices within a supportive cultural context. The study concludes that organizational resilience emerges not from isolated HR initiatives but from their synergistic interaction within a dynamic capability framework. These findings offer both theoretical contributions and practical implications for HR leaders seeking to strengthen resilience through human capital strategies.
