Abstract

Premarital sexual behavior often occurs during adolescence. Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood. This period allows deviations to occur. Uncontrolled premarital sexual behavior can result in unwanted pregnancies which will damage the future of teenagers and their environment. This deviation is closely related to teenagers' lack of knowledge regarding reproductive health. Reproductive health knowledge is not only about changes during puberty, but also about the limits of relationships with the opposite sex. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between reproductive health knowledge and premarital sexual behavior among teenagers. The research method uses a cross sectional design with a questionnaire measuring instrument that has been tested for validity. Using the Pearson test with 95 respondents. Keywords: reproductive health knowledge, behavior, premarital sex

Abstract

Nutrition is an important component that must be met throughout the life cycle, especially for women. Women have nutritional needs according to their stage of development. Pregnant women have higher nutritional needs than women in general. The development of increasingly free associations has led to the emergence of pregnant women at a young age. Teenagers themselves still really need complete nutrition for their body development. Teenagers who have experienced pregnancy need special attention because their nutritional needs are not only related to their status as teenagers, but also need to pay attention to the condition of their bodies while pregnant. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological design. Informants were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection used in-depth interview techniques. Based on the results of the study, the fulfillment of balanced nutrition by informants was carried out according to health standards. Informants can also overcome difficulties faced such as nausea and vomiting, so that nutritional fulfillment can continue to be carried out. However, informants still lack knowledge about monitoring body weight during pregnancy as one of the indicators in fulfilling balanced nutrition for pregnant women. It is hoped that there will be a mentoring program for teenagers who experience unwanted pregnancies, especially mentoring during the pregnancy process and fulfilling their nutrition. Keywords: nutrition, teenager, pregnancy

Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) remains a significant public health challenge in Indonesia. Educational initiatives such as antenatal classes (kelas ibu hamil) serve as strategic promotive and preventive measures to improve maternal knowledge and preparedness for childbirth. This community service activity aimed to enhance pregnant women’s readiness by delivering interactive education covering danger signs during pregnancy, birth planning, family support, and stress management. The program involved 10 pregnant women in Polengan Village, who participated in a pre-test, an educational session, and a post-test. Results showed a significant increase in the average score from 62.5 to 90.0. Notable improvements were observed in knowledge of pregnancy danger signs (from 60% to 90%), planning for delivery and support persons (from 50% to 100%), and awareness of the importance of emotional support and stress management (from 40% to 80%). This program demonstrates that antenatal classes are an effective tool to improve maternal readiness, contribute to reducing MMR, and support the development of a healthier and more empowered future generation. Abstract

Background: Decreased cognitive function is one of the impacts of the aging process in the elderly, which begins with a decrease in memory. This can also have an impact on the decline in the ability to speak, understand space, and the ability to judge and pay attention will result in inhibition of long-term memory and information processing in the elderly. If not treated properly, the decline in cognitive function can lead to dementia which results in decreased intellectual function and memory. Brain Gym is a collection of movement exercises that increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain, and stimulate the right and left brain to improve concentration and memory. Objectives: To determine the effect of Brain Gym on improving cognitive function in elderly people at risk of dementia at PSTW Budi Mulia 1. Methods: This study used a pre-experimental method with a one group pre-test and post-test approach. A total of 18 people who have met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Measuring instrument used MMSE. Results: Of all the research objects, the average result of cognitive function before intervention was 17.94 and after intervention 24.72. Hypothesis testing shows there is an effect of Brain Gym on improving cognitive function. Conclusion: Brain Gym has an effect on improving cognitive function in elderly people with dementia risk at Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 1. Abstract

Background: Hypercholesterolemia is a major risk factor for stroke, contributing to atherosclerosis and narrowing of blood vessels. Physical activity, such as walking exercise, can enhance fat metabolism and improve lipid profiles, thereby reducing cholesterol levels. Walking is an inexpensive, accessible, and effective physiotherapy intervention for improving cardiovascular health. Objectives: To examine the effectiveness of walking exercise in reducing cholesterol levels in individuals at risk of stroke in Kampung Cibulan, Tangerang. Methods: This study applied a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 10 participants were selected through purposive sampling. The intervention consisted of walking exercise three times per week for eight weeks. Cholesterol levels were measured before and after the intervention using Point of Care Testing (POCT). Results: The average cholesterol level decreased from 256,1 mg/dL before the intervention to 237,0 mg/dL after. The Paired Sample T-Test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Walking exercise significantly reduces cholesterol levels in individuals at risk of stroke and can serve as a non-pharmacological strategy for stroke prevention. Abstract

Pregnancy in adolescence has a high risk for the health of the mother and fetus, one of which is caused by an imbalance in nutritional intake. Pregnant adolescents often do not understand the increased nutritional needs during pregnancy, and are still influenced by physical complaints such as nausea and cultural beliefs related to food taboos. Explaining the fulfillment of balanced nutrition in adolescent pregnancy in the Kalibaru Village Health Center area, North Jakarta. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The main informants were five pregnant adolescents aged 17–19 years, and supporting informants consisted of families, cadres, and midwives. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman method. Pregnant adolescents generally eat three meals a day with snacks, with a variety of foods such as vegetables, fruits, fish, and milk. However, nausea in the first trimester is a major obstacle in fulfilling nutrition. In addition, some informants continue to consume foods that are considered taboo due to a lack of understanding of the risks or benefits of these foods. Fulfilling the nutrition of pregnant adolescents still faces challenges from both physical factors (nausea) and socio-cultural factors. Evidence-based nutrition education and assistance involving families and health workers are needed.
