Abstract

The rapid development of the times has influenced various aspects of life, including Javanese bridal make-up traditions. This article examines modifications to Javanese bridal make-up, especially for Muslim brides, to respond to modern aesthetic demands and the social changes that are occurring. This modification of make-up can be seen in changes in technique, use of cosmetics, and styling of the hijab which is more practical but still maintains traditional elements. Adjustments to bridal make-up in various regions, such as Sidoarjo, Trenggalek, Bojonegoro and Jogja, reflect efforts to maintain a balance between cultural values and the needs of today's brides. As a result, bridal make-up has become simpler and more minimalist, but still maintains deep cultural symbolism and philosophy. This article shows that modifications to Javanese bridal make-up are a solution to deal with the impact of changing times, so that traditions remain relevant and accepted by the younger generation.

Abstract

Abstract Primer is one of the cosmetic products used as a base before applying makeup, serves to smooth the skin texture and increase the durability of makeup. Oily skin is often a challenge in maintaining the appearance of makeup so that it remains durable, even, and does not fade easily due to excess sebum production. This study aims to determine the effect of primer use on the durability of makeup, especially on oily skin types. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observations of five female subjects aged 20-30 years with oily skin, as well as in-depth interviews with two professional makeup artists. The results of the study showed that consistent use of primer can extend the durability of makeup up to eight hours, reduce excess shine in the T-zone area, and provide a smoother and matte finish. This study is expected to be a practical reference for consumers and makeup professionals in choosing and applying primers that suit their skin needs. Keywords: oily skin, primer, makeup

Abstract

Creative thinking is an essential skill that needs to be developed from an early age. The absence of valid and reliable instruments poses major challenges in identifying and enhancing students’ creative thinking skills in elementary school mathematics learning. This study aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of a creative thinking assessment instrument for elementary school mathematics subjects. A quantitative approach was employed with five expert validators and 150 research participants selected through total sampling. The research instruments included expert validation sheets and a creative thinking assessment instrument for elementary mathematics. Data were analyzed using several methods: Aiken’s V for content validity, Rasch model analysis for dimensionality, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) for construct validity, Ebel’s formula for inter-rater reliability, and Cronbach’s Alpha for internal consistency reliability. The results showed that the creative thinking assessment instrument was valid and reliable, indicating that it can be used as an accurate measurement tool to identify students’ creative thinking skills. The findings of this study serve as a valuable reference for educators in evaluating creative thinking and provide a foundation for developing more innovative learning strategies in mathematics education.
