Abstract

This study aims to: (1) find out how students' interest in learning science class IV at SDN 066054 Kec. Medan Denai Field. The type of this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 21 grade IV students and the homeroom teacher of grade IV. The research instruments used were questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The results showed that 39% of students felt that they enjoyed learning science, 29% of students were less interested in learning science, 27% of students paid less attention to learning science and 36% of students lacked involvement in learning science. Based on the results of the study that students' interest in learning science with an overall average indicator of interest in learning was 62% in the category of "more than half" students who were interested in learning science learning while "less than half" students felt they lacked interest in learning science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of applying the Question Box-Assisted Talking Stick learning model to see the learning outcomes of theme 7 sub-theme 1 in class V. This type of research is quantitative research. The research method used is Quasi Experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population used was class V-A and V-B of SDN 066661 Medan Deli with a total of 50 students. The sample used was the total sample, namely V-A, 25 students from the experimental class and V-B, namely 25 students from the control class. Data collection techniques used are test and documentation techniques. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was an influence from the application of the Talking Stick learning model assisted by the Question Box media. This can be seen from the difference in the average score of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 83.6 and the average value of student learning outcomes in the control class was 79. 6. This is proven by student learning outcomes which can be seen from the difference in the average pretest and posttest scores which have a significant (2-tailed) sig. of 0.000 or p <0.05 in the Paired Sample t Test. Then the acquisition of tcount (-15.007) > ttable (0.404) where ttable with df = 24 at a significance level of 5% with an absolute value of 0.404 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is a significant difference between the Posttest results of the experimental class which was given treatment with the Talking Stick learning model assisted by Question Box media and the control class which used the conventional model.

Abstract

The background to research at SDN 122349 Pematang Siantar found several problems, namely 1) The teacher only relied on textbooks as a learning resource, 2) Students quickly felt bored in teaching and learning activities using the lecture method, so this became one of the learning factors become less effective and learning outcomes are less than optimal, 3) Science learning outcomes of students in class IV A are still in the low category, 4) Teachers still do not maximize the quality of learning by using various learning resources in the teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study was to find out 1) The effectiveness of using the school environment as a learning resource on learning outcomes in Science Theme 6 Sub-theme 1 Learning 1 in Class IV A SDN 122349 Pematang Siantar T.A 2022/2023. 2) Student science learning outcomes in Theme 6 Sub-theme 1 Learning 1 in class IV A SDN 122349 Pematang Siantar T.A 2022/2023. This type of research is correlational research. The subjects in this study were 28 students in class IV A. The research instrument used was multiple choice tests and learning observation sheets. The percentage results show that 1) The results obtained increased from the pre-test value of 14% to 100%. It can be concluded that by utilizing the school environment as a learning resource it can improve learning outcomes Science Theme 6 Sub-theme 1 Learning 1 Class IV SDN 122349 Pematang Siantar T.A 2022/2023. 2) From the calculation of the t test obtained tcount = 4.65 and ttable = 2.056. So it can be concluded that tcount > ttable, then H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected.
