Based on the results of data analysis, it can be seen that burning waste is the main problem faced by residents of RT 04 Dusun Pagergunung 1 with a prevalence of 34%. Some people complain of coughing, environmental pollution, and the smell of smoke sticking to their clothes, so they feel disadvantaged. conducting counseling about the dangers of burning waste and managing housing and settlement health. Abstract

Background: Many people turn to social media platforms to obtain information including information related to health. Understanding how the anti-smoking messages have been done is important to develop more structured and efficient Anti-smoking campaigns. Aims: This study aims to characterize current anti-smoking messages on Instagram in 2023 among Indonesians by employing descriptive content analysis. Methods: In March 2024, anti-smoking messages were searched on Instagram using several anti-smoking relevant hashtags such as #bahayamerokok #berhentimerokok and selected top posts for each hashtag. After eliminating duplicates, 210 Instagram posts were coded for the type of creator (individuals, company, education institution, community), message appeal (threat/fear, humor, social), and message form (picture, videos). Results: The main creator and message appeal were organizations/companies (48.1%), and threat/fear (60%) respectively. The main months of the posts being uploaded were during May or June, especially to celebrate World No Tobacco Day. The main form of the postings was in pictures (92.4%) compared to videos (7.6%). The number of likes was positively associated with the number of followers on the accounts (r=0.452, P<0.05) and the number of hashtags being used (r=0.256, P<0.05). Conclusion: Indonesian anti-smoking campaigns on social media should involve an Instagram account that has large followers to receive higher audience engagement. Routine anti-smoking messages throughout the year will ensure that the audience receives continuous education and information about the dangers of cigarette use.

Abstract

Breastfeeding promotion is vital for improving neonatal health and reducing mortality rates, particularly in developing countries. The World Health Organization advocates for exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life due to its substantial benefits for infant growth, development, and immunity. Understanding the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding, such as maternal knowledge and practices, is crucial for devising effective interventions to enhance breastfeeding rates among mothers. Social-psychological interventions, including family and peer support, have demonstrated efficacy in increasing breastfeeding frequency by addressing behavioral changes in new parents. Psychological factors such as self-efficacy, postnatal depression, and stress significantly influence breastfeeding decisions. Additionally, cultural norms, social media, and healthcare professionals are critical in shaping breastfeeding practices. This literature review examines the influence of these factors and interventions, underscoring the need for comprehensive strategies to promote breastfeeding, especially among novice and young mothers. Peer support programs, education-based initiatives, and postnatal support are highlighted as effective approaches. The study emphasizes the importance of tailored socio-psychological interventions and calls for further research to address existing gaps and strengthen the validity of findings, ultimately aiming to enhance breastfeeding outcomes and the overall well-being of mothers and infants.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a critical stage requiring adequate nutrition for long-term health. Adolescent girls are particularly vulnerable to iron deficiency, which increases the risk of anemia and stunting. Enhancing adolescent girls' knowledge of nutrition through health education, which can be delivered using tools such as flipcharts, can prevent and address stunting. Method: This quasi-experimental study involved 541 adolescent girls aged 12–18 years, with a purposive sample of 91 participants divided into an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group received flip chart-based education, while the control group did not. The study was conducted in Kalurahan Triharjo and Pandowoharjo, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta. Data were collected using validated pre- and post-intervention questionnaires and analyzed with Wilcoxon and paired t-tests. Result: The intervention group showed significant improvements in knowledge and attitudes about nutrition. Knowledge scores increased from 14.42 ± 2.388 at pretest to 19.36 ± 0.883 at posttest (mean difference: 4.94, p = 0.001). Attitude scores rose from 59.04 ± 8.512 to 75.31 ± 2.410 (mean difference: 16.27, p = 0.001). In the control group, smaller increases were observed for both knowledge (mean difference: 0.73, p = 0.001) and attitudes (mean difference: 4.13, p = 0.036). Conclusion: Flip chart-based education effectively improves adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes about nutrition for stunting prevention. However, external exposure to nutrition information in the control group was a limitation. Future research should minimize such exposure by limiting information to basic content for control groups.

Abstract

Abstract Background: Stunting is a global public health problem that can impair children's physical and cognitive development. In Indonesia, although the prevalence of stunting has decreased, it is still relatively high. Adolescents, especially adolescent girls, play an essential role in stunting prevention, as their knowledge, attitudes, and motivation can influence the health of future generations. Community-based education, such as Karang Taruna youth groups at the village or kelurahan level, using audiovisual media, is considered adequate for increasing adolescents' understanding and awareness of stunting. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was 33 adolescents in Sumberan Hamlet, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The intervention was stunting prevention education using audiovisual media delivered in one one-hour session in October 2024. Data were collected through questionnaires to measure knowledge, attitudes, and motivation which were standardized and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. Result: This study showed a significant increase in adolescents' knowledge with a mean difference between pre-test and post-test of 9.26 (p=0.001) and in attitude with a mean difference of 2.33 (p=0.003) after the intervention. However, adolescents' motivation did not increase significantly, with a mean difference between pre-test and post-test of only 0.70 (p=0.274). Conclusion: Community-based education using audiovisual media effectively improves adolescents' knowledge and attitudes about stunting.

Abstract

Background: Teachers' mental health is a crucial factor in creating a healthy and conducive school environment for learning. However, the workload and psychosocial stress experienced by teachers can interfere with their mental health conditions, so appropriate interventions through mental health promotion are needed. This study aims to conduct a needs assessment for mental health promotion among teachers in junior high schools in Yogyakarta City as an effort to support the healthy school program. Methods: This study applied a Cross-sectional research design and Chi-Square analysis, and Fisher's Exact test. A total of 42 people were sampled in this study, using the total sampling technique. The instruments used included personal data sheets, as well as questionnaires to assess the level of work stress and mental workload. Results: The results showed that most of the respondents were female, as many as 26 people (61.9%), with age >34 years, as many as 23 people (54.8%), and tenure >5 years, as many as 25 people (59.5%). There were 18 teachers (42.9%) who experienced work stress, and most of the teachers stated that the workload was experienced at a moderate level, namely 38 people (90.5%). There is a relationship between mental workload and work stress in teachers with a p-value of 0.027 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The higher the mental workload, the more likely teachers are to experience job stress. These findings are important for improving teacher welfare, which in turn will support the creation of a positive and quality learning climate in schools. This study contributes to the development of sustainable mental health programs for teachers as an integral part of efforts to create healthy schools in Indonesia
