Abstract

Artikel ini membahas Program Sekolah Hijau yang dilaksanakan melalui workshop pupuk organik untuk siswa SD sebagai bagian dari pembelajaran edukasi lingkungan. Isu yang diangkat adalah pentingnya meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan sejak dini, khususnya terkait dengan pengelolaan sampah organik dan keberlanjutan pertanian. Fokus pengabdian ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada siswa dalam memproduksi pupuk organik dari sampah rumah tangga dan limbah alami. Tujuan pengabdian adalah untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai ekologi kepada siswa serta meningkatkan partisipasi mereka dalam kegiatan pelestarian lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui pelatihan interaktif, diskusi, dan praktik langsung dalam pembuatan pupuk organik. Hasil dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan siswa tentang pentingnya pengelolaan sampah organik dan penerapan prinsip keberlanjutan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, serta tumbuhnya rasa tanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan. Program ini juga memperkuat kolaborasi antara sekolah dan masyarakat dalam menjaga kelestarian alam

Abstract

Rumah tongkonan memiliki halaman yang luas dan banyak alang yang sangat cocok digunakan sebagai lokasi untuk memperkenalkan budaya secara langsung pada anak-anak. Halaman yang luas dapat digunakan sebagai tempat untuk melakukan kegiatan media dan sarana untuk pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan di Kelurahan Malimbong pemanafaat rumah tongkonan sebagai media pembelajaran dan saran untuk belajar masih belum pernah ada. Mengingat lokasi dan tempatnya yang strategis lumbung dan rumah tongkonan dapat menjadi sarana pembelajaran bagi anak-anak. Selain itu bagian bagian pada rumah tongkonan seperti ukiran-ukiran dapat menjadi media pembelajaran bagi anak-anak. Selain itu masalah juga terjadi pada anak-anak disekitar kelurahan malimbong yakni mereka masih banyak menghabiskan waktu untuk bermain gadget. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru an beberapa orang tua murid. Murid-murid saat ini jika pulang sekola lebih banyak menghabiskan waktu untuk bermain ganget dan kurang minat dalam belajar. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk: Untuk memanfaatkan rumah rongkonan sebagai sarana belajar untuk siswa sekolah dasar dan untuk memanfaatkan rumah tongkonan sebagai media utuk belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Hasil Pengabdian adalah lokasi rumah tongkonan toraja dan lumbung-lumbungnya dapat digunakan sebagai sarana dan media belajar bagi siswa sekolah dasar. Pemanfaat rumah toraja tongkonan dapat memberikan motivasi dan antusias bagi siswa untuk belajar.

Abstract

The cemetery as a place to store the body is a very important place for the Toraja community. In the past, the most widely used places as graves were in specially made stone burrows, in natural stone caves that were considered safe, in certain woods usually for the corpses of babies and partly buried in the ground. In modern times, many Toraja people choose to build a special place for burials called Patane with various considerations. Usually this place was built by one family and became a family cemetery. The size varies according to the wishes of the family concerned but on average is 4 x 6 m with a height of about 3 m. The location of the patane construction depends on the family's agreement and usually uses a place that is considered strategic or good. From the results of the research carried out, the growth of patane buildings is an average of two patane buildings built every year with an average building area of 33.63 m2 and using an average land area of 100.9 m2. The environmental impacts caused are: 1. Positive impacts, namely the location of a neat and well-organized patane building can become a tourist attraction and Because each patane building can accommodate many bodies, it can save land use for the cemetery (if all the bodies stored in the patane are buried in the ground). 2. Negative impact, namely the arrangement of the environment is not neat because the location of the patane development is not well organized because there are no rules about its construction and the reduction of productive strategic space of around 100.9 m2 every year. (compared to using stone burrows, erongs, and caves that use unproductive land).

Abstract

Pengabdian ini membahas tentang pengembangan produk pangan lokal bernama Ranggina di Lembang Rano dan dampaknya terhadap perekonomian masyarakat setempat. Metode Pengabdian yang digunakan termasuk observasi lapangan, pelatihan tenaga kerja, dan analisis potensi produk. Hasil Pengabdian menemukan bahwa Ranggina memiliki keunggulan dalam kualitas, harga yang bersaing, dan metode pengolahan yang unik. Pelatihan yang diberikan telah meningkatkan kualitas dan efisiensi produksi, sementara analisis potensi dapat berkembang dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan pendapatan di tingkat lokal. membantu dalam merencanakan perluasan pasar. Evaluasi rutin sangat diperlukan untuk menjaga relevansi dan daya saing produk. Melalui penerapan strategi yang baik, diharapkan pasar Ranggina terus dapat berkembang dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan pendapatan di tingkat lokal.

Abstract

Household organic waste remains an environmental challenge that has not been optimally managed by many communities. At the same time, home yards possess significant potential to support household food security when utilized productively. This community service program aimed to enhance community knowledge and skills in processing kitchen waste into liquid organic fertilizer and optimizing home yard utilization for vegetable cultivation. The target participants were 302 members of the Women's Fellowship of Toraja Church (Persekutuan Wanita Gereja Toraja/PWGT) at Rante Tagari Congregation, Tallunglipu Classis. This group was selected because of its strategic role in household management, including food preparation, kitchen waste management, and home yard utilization. The program was conducted over a three-month period through observation, socialization, training, demonstration, mentoring, and evaluation activities. The results indicated an improvement in participants' knowledge and skills in producing liquid organic fertilizer from household kitchen waste. Participants were able to independently produce and apply organic fertilizer to vegetables cultivated in their home yards. During the mentoring period, various vegetables, including mustard greens, spinach, kale, tomatoes, eggplants, and chili peppers, showed good growth and were utilized for household consumption. In addition to improving yard productivity, the program encouraged positive behavioral changes in household waste management, reduced dependence on inorganic fertilizers, and increased environmental awareness. The findings demonstrate that women's empowerment through the utilization of kitchen waste and home yards can contribute to household food security while promoting a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment.

Abstract

Aphids (Aphis spp.) are one of the main pests that damage Katokkon chilies by sucking plant sap and transmitting viruses. Excessive use of chemical pesticides can lead to resistance and environmental problems; therefore, environmentally friendly alternatives are needed. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a botanical pesticide formulation derived from lime (Citrus spp.) leaves and citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) against Aphis spp. Mortality in vitro. This experiment used a completely randomized design with 7 treatment levels (R1-R5, KP, KN) and 5 replications. Observed parameters included physicochemical stability of the formulation (pH, density and viscosity), pest mortality from 4-72 hours and toxicity based on probit analysis (LT50). Results showed that formulations were stable in storage for 14 days, with the smallest changes in pH, density and viscosity. The highest mortality was found in R4 (83.33%), followed by R3 (70.83%) and R2 (62.50%), while solvent control reached only 2.50%. Probit analysis revealed that R4 gave the shortest LT50 value (8.70 hours), followed by R3 (24.93 hours) and R2 (35.61 hours). Based on these results, a combination of lime and citronella, with a ratio of 25%:75% (R4), is the most effective formulation as a botanical pesticide against Aphis spp.

Abstract

Traffic safety in mountainous regions is influenced by the interaction between infrastructure conditions, traffic exposure, and road user behavior. This study aims to analyze traffic accident characteristics and evaluate the influence of road user perceptions on accident risk on the Makale–Rantepao National Road in Tana Toraja, Indonesia. The study employed an integrated quantitative approach by combining objective historical data and subjective perception data within a single traffic safety framework. Secondary data consisted of traffic accident records from 2022–2025 and traffic exposure indicators, including vehicle ownership and population data from 2021–2024. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire survey involving 110 road users conducted in early 2026. Data analysis was performed using the Accident Equivalent Number (AEN) method, traffic exposure ratio analysis, descriptive statistics, and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that traffic accidents in Tana Toraja fluctuated during the study period, with the highest AEN recorded in 2022 at 815 and the lowest in 2025 at 351. Meanwhile, the vehicle-to-population ratio increased from 0.322 in 2021 to 0.373 in 2024, indicating increasing traffic pressure and exposure risk. Regression analysis demonstrates that road surface conditions, road safety facilities, and road user behavior significantly influence accident risk perception, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.457. Among the independent variables, road surface condition showed the strongest influence on perceived accident risk. The findings suggest that integrating accident severity indicators, traffic exposure, and road user perceptions provides a more comprehensive understanding of traffic safety conditions in mountainous areas. This study contributes to the development of an integrated traffic safety assessment framework that can support sustainable road safety management and policy formulation in developing regions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze household trip generation in semi-rural areas of North Toraja based on household characteristics and regional transportation conditions. The study was conducted in Pangli and Sa'dan Matallo located along the Rantepao–Sa’dan provincial road corridor. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method with 181 household respondents. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis, binary logistic regression, and Chi-Square analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics software. The results indicate that vehicle ownership and number of family members significantly influence the probability of household trip generation, with significance values of 0.006 and 0.000, respectively. Meanwhile, household income does not significantly affect household trip generation categories. The Chi-Square analysis shows that travel time has a significant relationship with trip generation categories with a significance value of 0.033, while transportation mode and travel distance do not show significant relationships. In addition, regional transportation characteristics indicate an increase in population and motor vehicle growth in North Toraja Regency from 2021 to 2024, with a coefficient of determination value of , indicating a very strong relationship between population growth and motor vehicle growth. The findings suggest that household trip generation in semi-rural areas is influenced by a combination of household socio-economic characteristics, regional development, and transportation conditions. This study is expected to provide recommendations for regional transportation planning and mobility management in semi-rural areas.

Abstract

Traffic accidents remain a major challenge to transportation safety despite continuous improvements in road infrastructure. This study examined the determinants of traffic accident experience based on road users' perceptions of road safety along the Rantepao-Pasar Bolu corridor, North Toraja Regency, Indonesia. A quantitative survey was conducted with 60 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The study evaluated four perception variables: road surface condition, traffic signs and pavement markings, street lighting, and road user compliance. The questionnaire demonstrated acceptable validity (corrected item-total correlation = 0.49 - 0.66) and reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.75). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and binary logistic regression, while model performance was assessed using Nagelkerke R^2 and Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. The results showed that road surface condition received the highest mean score (4.15), whereas street lighting received the lowest (2.60). Street lighting was the only variable significantly associated with traffic accident experience (B = -1.353, p = 0.027, {Exp}(B) = 0.258$), indicating that improved lighting reduced the likelihood of experiencing a traffic accident. The model explained 15.6% of the variation in accident experience (Nagelkerke R^2 = 0.156) and achieved acceptable discrimination ({AUC} = 0.714). These findings highlight the importance of improving street lighting to enhance road safety. Future research should include larger samples and additional explanatory variables to improve model performance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat di Kelurahan Sa’dan Malimbong, Kecamatan Sa’dan, Kabupaten Toraja Utara serta mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan analisis regresi linear berganda. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui survei dan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 75 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan metode stratified random sampling. Variabel penelitian terdiri atas kepemilikan kendaraan (X₁), jumlah anggota keluarga (X₂), dan pendapatan rumah tangga (X₅) sebagai variabel bebas, serta bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat (Y) sebagai variabel terikat. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat sebesar 6,64 perjalanan per hari. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi linear berganda diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi (R) sebesar 0,859 yang menunjukkan hubungan kuat antara variabel bebas dengan bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R Square) sebesar 0,737 menunjukkan bahwa variabel penelitian mampu menjelaskan bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat sebesar 73,7%, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain di luar penelitian. Hasil uji parsial menunjukkan bahwa variabel jumlah anggota keluarga merupakan faktor yang paling dominan memengaruhi bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat dengan nilai koefisien regresi sebesar 1,493 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Sementara itu, variabel kepemilikan kendaraan dan pendapatan rumah tangga tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap bangkitan perjalanan masyarakat. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan dalam perencanaan transportasi wilayah serta mendukung penyediaan sistem transportasi yang efektif dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat di Kabupaten Toraja Utara.
