Abstract

The Aviation Security course is a course that must be followed by cadets of the Diploma 3 Airport Management study program. One of the materials in the Aviation security course is Operation of security equipment which contains aviation security equipment, namely X Ray machines. An X Ray machine is a tool used by aviation security personnel to check passengers' belongings. To achieve learning objectives, varied and independent learning resources are needed that are not limited in time and place. This research is motivated by the difficulty of cadets in understanding the material in the package book and the electronic media used is still limited to power point slides. Then to be able to find out the feasibility, response of cadets, educators and lecturers, as well as the effectiveness of MOOCS learning media will be carried out in this study. This research method uses a research and development (R&D) approach which is then adjusted to the needs of researchers, research methods used to produce certain products, and tests the effectiveness of these products. Researchers conduct research first to collect the required amount of data then develop the system and conduct testing and evaluation of the system created. This research was conducted at the Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang from April 2022 to October 2022.

Abstract

The implementation of a rapidly developing library service system can create threatening risks caused by the failure of library managers to assess the source of risk threats. Risks can take the form of events and conditions that result in disruption of information services and the decision-making process stops. The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of library service risk management at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic Library using the ISO 31000 approach to determine the factors that influence the implementation of library risk management, especially in library material management activities. Library risk management at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic Library has been implemented to anticipate various sources of risk threats by carrying out risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk evaluation activities through the Government Internal Control System (SPIP) in general.

Abstract

This socialization is carried out as a form of the application of the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely making research and compiling Scientific Journals within the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. In addition, the purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and awareness of the people living around Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport Palembang. This activity aims to inform how to operate unmanned aircraft around the airport area, how safe distance is needed and what permits need to be made when operating unmanned aircraft. This activity was made based on reports from several pilots to the Air Traffic Controller about the many obstacles such as kites, drones, hot air balloons and as in Palembang airspace. The method used in this community service activity is the participatory method. So that the results are expected so that participants know the results of socialization related to how to operate unmanned aircraft that do not endanger flights. Then the results of the socialization were published on the social media of Palembang Poltekbang.

Abstract

This study focuses on the development of technical skills among vocational high school students in Palembang through basic application development training. The training, conducted on May 29, 2024, at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Palembang, involved 20 students from grades X, XI, and XII. The training aimed to provide foundational knowledge in creating simple applications using software like XAMPP and WordPress, essential tools for web application development. The program included theoretical instruction, practical application, pre-test and post-test evaluations, and hands-on coding sessions. The pre-test results indicated a moderate understanding of the subject, with an average score of 64.45. Post-training assessments showed significant improvement, with an average post-test score of 90. The N-gain score analysis revealed that 65% of the participants demonstrated a high level of improvement, while 35% showed moderate improvement. The training successfully enhanced the students' technical skills in programming and application development, equipping them with the knowledge to create simple cashier applications, crucial for small and medium enterprises. This hands-on approach to learning fostered creativity and innovation, providing students with practical skills to meet the demands of the modern workforce. This initiative not only fulfilled the educational objectives of SMK but also aligned with the broader goal of community service by higher education institutions, showcasing a successful model of vocational training in application development

Abstract

This training focused on improving the ability of simple linear regression analysis using IBM SPSS application. The training was held on 11 September 2024 at Palembang Aviation Polytechnic and involved 12 students from outside Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. This training aims to provide in-depth insight into how to use IBM SPSS. in simple linear regression analysis. The flow of training implementation consists of initial tests, material, practice, final tea, report writing and publication. The average score of the initial test was 33.33. The final test results showed an average score of 75.83. N-gain score analysis showed 66.67% of participants were in the medium category and 33.33% of participants were in the high category. Based on the paired sample test, the results showed that there was an increase between before and after participating in the training. This training succeeded in increasing understanding and knowledge related to simple linear regression analysis with IBM SPSS.

Abstract

The Dangerous Goods course is a compulsory course followed by cadets of the Diploma 3 Airport Management study program. Providing Dangerous Goods material aims to discover how to handle and pack dangerous goods under predetermined regulations, not to endanger flight safety and security. However, the cadets felt that the Dangerous Goods course was challenging due to the lack of modules and difficulty understanding the very thick Dangerous Goods book. Problem-based learning used in this study was chosen because this learning model trains the Critical Thinking skills possessed by cadets under the Dangerous Goods course material, which requires a lot of practice. This research method uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) research and development approach, which is a research method used to produce specific products and test the effectiveness of these products. The subjects of this study were 48 cadets of Palembang Aviation Polytechnic cadets who managed the airport. Researchers conduct research first to collect the data needed, then system development is carried out, and the system is tested and evaluated. This study showed that the results of media expert validation were obtained by 90.% with valid categories and material expert validation results by 91.% with valid categories. Based on the validity and product effectiveness results, problem-based learning e-modules on the developed Dangerous Goods material are valid and effectively used by teachers and students in the learning process.

Abstract

Studi ini berfokus pada edukasi keamanan dan keselamatan penerbangan mengenai prohibited items. Sosialisasi dilaksanakan pada tanggal 26 juli 2024 di SMA Negeri 3 Banyuasin III dan melibatkan 26 siswa.Tujuan dari sosialisasi ini adalah untuk melaksanakan Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi yaitu yang salah satunya adalah melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, Dimana output yang dihasilkan selain berupa laporan kegiatan juga membuat penelitian dan Menyusun Jurnal Ilmiah di lingkungan Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. Selain itu kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat yang dalam hal ini ialah pelajar di SMA 3 Banyuasin 3 mengenai keamanan dan keselamatan penerbangan, agar para pelajar dapat menambah pengetahuan tentang keamanan dan keselamatan penerbangan dengan materi yang disampaikan mulai dari pengantar mengenai keamanan dan keselamatan penerbangan, kategori prohibited items dan cara penanganannya. Metode sosialisasi yang digunakan adalah paparan oleh narasumber dan diskusi dengan para pelajar SMA 3 Banyuasin 3. Hasil Post test setelah dilakukan penyampaian materi yang dihitung menggunakan rukus N-gain sebesar 87,3 dimana termasuk kategori perubahan yang tinggi dan diharapkan para peserta mengetahui keamanan dan keselamatan penerbangan. Kemudian hasil dari sosialisasi ini dipublikasikan pada sosial media Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang dan Jurnal Pengabdian Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang.

Abstract

Aviation Polytechnic is a vocational education that should follow the global vocational education. The Polytechnic prepares its graduates not only to achieve education but also to develop social attitudes and skills in various fields. On-the-job training (OJT) programs were then conducted to increase some of these skills, namely problem-solving and self-efficacy (confidence in their abilities). This study aimed to determine whether OJT affected problem-solving skills, self-efficacy, and both. It used a quantitative method with a questionnaire as the instrument for data collection. The data were analyzed by a series of tests that examined the instrument, the prerequisite test, and the hypothesis. They were examined using the MANOVA method. The study indicated that OJT affected the problem-solving skills of Palembang Aviation Polytechnic cadets. The study also found the effect of OJT on the cadets’ self-efficacy. Finally, it was found that OJT had an effect on both problem-solving skills and self-efficacy.

Abstract

This research was made to optimize the learning of Radiotelephony courses by creating new interactive learning media that can be accessed through gadgets and assessing the feasibility of Radiotelephony interactive learning media based on the assessment of media experts, material experts, and student responses. Created using the Research and Development method by Brog and Gall, this study adopts the ADDIE research model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research produces learning media that have undergone design and material validation tests. The percentage of validation results by material experts is 85%, and the percentage of validation results by design experts is 88%, so it is included in the very feasible category. Student acceptance of the learning media is shown through the answers to the survey responses, which were distributed where the results reached 89%

Abstract

Salah satu kriteria penting untuk menilai pengembangan kualitas pendidikan adalah apakah materi pembelajaran sesuai dengan pencapaian alumni program studi MBU. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan seberapa penting materi pembelajaran untuk alumni yang masih bekerja. Fokus penelitian ini adalah alumni Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang, dengan penekanan khusus pada program studi Manajemen bandar udara. Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian kuantitatif yang menggunakan metode survei. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sampel purposive, jumlah sampel sebanyak 39 taruna. Ada dua variabel dalam penelitian ini: variabel terikat adalah materi pembelajaran, dan variabel bebas adalah capaian lulusan Program Studi Manajemen Bandar Udara (MBU). Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, uji linier, dan uji hipotesisi dengan taraf signifikan 5% (0,05). Hasil dari penelitian ini pada uji hipotesis memperoleh nilai signifikansi 0.000 < 0.05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Simpulan dari peneliltian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh kesesuaian materi pembelajaran facility program studi manajemen bandar udara terhadap capaian lulusan di tempat kerja.
