Abstract

Abstract

Pharmaceutical installations manage and distribute drugs and health supplies. The success of hospital pharmacy services depends on adequate human resources. Syifa Medina Hospital often faces overwork due to a shortage of pharmaceutical personnel, increasing workload. This study analyzes the need for Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel (TTK) using the Workload Indicators Staffing Need (WISN) method. This qualitative research involves four informants: the Head of Pharmaceutical Installation (key informant), a Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel, a pharmacist assistant (main informants), and the Head of Human Resources (supporting informant). Data collection includes observation, interviews, document review, and WISN calculations. Results show that the available working hours total 141,600 minutes per year. The study finds that Syifa Medina Hospital requires nine TTKs for optimal pharmaceutical services, but currently, only six are available. This indicates a shortage of three personnel, leading to excessive workload. To enhance pharmaceutical services, the hospital should recruit additional TTKs.

Abstract

Obesity in adolescents needs attention because it can persist into adulthood and increase the risk of degenerative diseases. In Tasikmalaya district, there has not been much research related to obesity risk factors, including with case control study. This research aims to analyze the risk factors associated with obesity in adolescents. The research sample consists of teenagers from a private school in Tasikmalaya Regency. This study uses a case-control design, with a total of 32 cases (total sampling) and 64 controls, resulting in a total sample of 96 students. The independent variables are junk food consumption, soft drink consumption, vegetable and fruit consumption, physical activity, screen time, and sleep duration. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews and food recalls, as well as measuring obesity using the BMI indicator. Data analysis employed the chi-square test at a 95% confidence level. The research results indicate that the variables of junk food consumption (p-value=0.025; OR=3.1), soft drink consumption (p-value=0.017; OR=3.3), vegetable consumption (p-value=0.012; OR=3.4), fruit consumption (p-value=0.017; OR=3.2), physical activity (p-value=0.002; OR=4.5), screen time (p-value=0.017; OR=3.2), and sleep duration (p-value=0.035; OR=2.8) have a significant relationship with the incidence of obesity in adolescents. Thus, the factors of food consumption, physical activity, screen time, and sleep duration are variables that increase the risk of obesity in adolescents.

Abstract

Indonesia faces a triple burden of nutritional problems, including the rising prevalence of obesity among children and adolescents. Obesity cases among senior high school students in Tasikmalaya Regency were notably high in 2023, indicating the need to analyze factors contributing to obesity in the region. This study aimed to analyze the effect of an e-booklet on obesity management on the knowledge and attitudes of obese adolescents at SMK Singaparna and SMK Daaruddakwah. A quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design was used, and hypothesis testing was conducted using the Wilcoxon test and paired t-test. The sample consisted of 42 obese adolescents selected through total sampling. The results showed an increase in knowledge (6,21 points) and attitudes (1,91 points) regarding obesity management, indicating a significant effect of the e-booklet on improving knowledge (p-value< 0,001) and attitudes (p-value = 0,011). It is recommended that the developed e-booklet be utilized as a health promotion medium for obesity management.

Abstract

This study addressed the need for timely monitoring of child nutritional status by designing, implementing, and evaluating a web-based dashboard. The system captured demographic and anthropometric records, automated status classification using World Health Organization z-scores, and visualized longitudinal growth trajectories. Development followed an iterative, user-centered process and was validated with synthetic records and formative testing by community health workers. Functional testing confirmed correct operation of data entry, classification, and reporting. Against reference calculations, category assignments matched all twenty test cases. Performance profiling indicated responsive interaction (time to first byte about 180 milliseconds; time to interactive about 1.3 seconds), and usability measured with the System Usability Scale fell in the “good” range. Findings suggested readiness for community use and a scalable foundation for future integration and field deployment.

Abstract

The 2022 SSGI results showed the prevalence of underweight toddlers in Indonesia was 17.1%, with West Java at 14.2%, and Tasikmalaya City at 13%. Data from the 2023 Health Office recorded 15,804 underweight toddlers (8.43%), with the highest number of cases occurring in the Karanganyar and Cibeureum Community Health Centers. This situation emphasizes the importance of increasing the capacity of integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres in the use of anthropometric tools to ensure more accurate nutritional data. The goal is to improve cadres' knowledge and skills in monitoring toddler growth and support the acceleration of Primary Service Integration (ILP). The activity method was carried out through socialization, training, and practical simulations using standard anthropometric tools (digital scales, infantometers, stadiometers, digital sphygmomanometers, and LILA tapes) with the assistance of a team of lecturers. The activities at the Harapan Bunda and Mekarsari Posyandus were attended by Posyandu cadres, representatives from the sub-district, neighborhood associations (RT), and community associations (RW). Participants showed high enthusiasm, were able to try using the tools independently, and were more confident in recording measurement results on the Child Health Card (KMS). This program is expected to produce more accurate nutritional data to support early detection and prevention of underweight.
