Abstract

One of the efforts of developing foreign language skills in early childhood is listening skills. Various kinds of listening activities that can be applied to early childhood are packed with interesting and fun activities. One of the methods for listening to non-stop that invites children to actively participate is the interactive read aloud method. The purpose of this study is to review  interactive read aloud method as an effort to improve foreign language skills in early childhood. The results of the discussion showed that foreign language learning with the interactive read aloud method is effective and can invite children to actively participate, understand the text, and be able to retell the story that is being played

Abstract

Education at early childhood education (PAUD) Sanggar Anak Alam (SALAM) in Yogyakarta focuses on liberating and holistic development, nurturing students' faith, character, health, knowledge, independence, creativity, and responsibility through a research-based approach centered on nature and individual talents. Unlike traditional schools, SALAM, often called a 'school of life' or 'life laboratory,’ emphasizes experiential learning in a natural setting, aligning education with each student's unique interests and abilities. This study aims to analyze how the concept and practice of independent education are applied at PAUD Sanggar Anak Alam Yogyakarta. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach, the research investigates how this educational philosophy translates into practice, emphasizing critical thinking, autonomy, and humanization. Through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, the study captures the perspectives of educators, administrators, and other stakeholders. Key findings include the integration of Freire's concepts into pedagogical practices, such as fostering egalitarian educator-student relationships, prioritizing dialogue, and embedding ethics in the curriculum. The study also examines the practical implications of this approach, highlighting the roles of educators as facilitators and the importance of nurturing environmental awareness and critical thinking from an early age. While the study's findings affirm the potential of Freire's model in early childhood settings, its context-specific nature and focus on a single institution necessitate caution in generalizing the results. Consequently, the research underscores the need for further exploration in diverse educational contexts. The study's implications extend to educational policy and practice, advocating a shift towards more participatory, student-centered, and dialogue-driven learning environments. This research contributes to the discourse on global educational reform by demonstrating the transformative power of liberatory education in fostering egalitarian and humanizing educational experiences.

Abstract

Purpose – The existence of Rohis in schools and madrasas is often imaged as a movement for Islamization and school da’wah. However, globalization and modernization inevitably bring new directions for the next Rohis movement and is evident in its various activism. This study aims to determine the preferences of Rohis activism in schools and madrasas that have experienced a shift from Islamism “right” towards popular culture. Design/methods/approach – This research method is a qualitative case study. The subjects of this research are Rohis activists in MAN 1 Yogyakarta and SMAN 5 Yogyakarta. This study collects data through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model with interactive analysis through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Findings – The results of this study indicate that the Rohis’ activism preferences appear in the spaces they create as a form of negotiation between obedience and modernity, including manifesting in the form of religious events, the theme of the study, and the name of the program/division. Research implications/limitations – The implications of this research in the world of education provide insight and views that modernization and globalization cannot be avoided, especially for Muslim youth who are members of Rohis. Practical implications – This research shows that school policies are more progressive and responsive to changing times.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the many people who have forgotten and even underestimated Krama Javanese in their daily lives. Parents who prefer to teach Indonesian when at home. Krama Javanese is considered complicated because of the many levels of speech. In addition, parents consider Indonesian language to be easy to understand. Another reason was also expressed by many school institutions using Indonesian as a daily language in interacting everyday. The continuous use of Indonesian will eliminate Javanese Krama language culture especially among students. This research is a qualitative field research and takes the background of applying the learning process using Javanese Krama. The results of this study indicate that (1) the implementation of the Krama Javanese Language in the learning process in group B of the ABA Ngalang Gedangsari Gunungkidul Yogyakarta kindergarten uses habituation, exemplary, and advice methods. The application of the Javanese Krama language is by inserting the Javanese Krama language when interacting, calling, and advising in a language that is easy to understand and does not offend the child. (2) supporting factors include good collaboration between teachers, enthusiasm from teachers, teachers who are not bored to remind children. While the inhibiting factor is that parents do not all apply Javanese Krama when at home and the child's playing environment is not good at speaking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengembangan pendidikan lingkungan hidup pada anak usia dini. Penanaman wawasan lingkungan hidup diyakini dapat membantu anak dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran terhadap lingkungan, serta kepedulian dalam menjaga alam dan diharapkan tumbuh menjadi anak yang memiliki kepekaan terhadap lingkungan dan alam. Untuk itu penting kiranya memuat nilai edukatif, partisipatif dan berkelanjutan dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif-analitis. Subjek penelitian ini Lembaga RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga di Yogyakarta. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Analisis  data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman dengan analisis interaktif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan Kesimpulan. Pengembangan Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup pada Anak Usia Dini di RA DWP UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta meliputi empat aspek; Pertama, Pengembangan Prinsip-Prinsip Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup di RA UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Kedua, Pengembangan Program Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup di RA UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Ketiga, Pengembangan Nilai-Nilai Islam dalam Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup di RA UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. Dan Keempat, Pengembangan Kemampuan Pembiasaan Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup di RA UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has penetrated in all aspects of human life. Man in her life now are making use of technology to facilitate their work, which creates a dependency so that technology becomes a primary thing. No doubt human daily activities is now inseparable from the role of technology. So also in the field of education that has memanfaatan technology to facilitate the learning activities in order to achieve better results. One of the technologies used in mobile learning education is already included in the ICT-based learning. This research aims to produce teaching materials on Islamic Education (PAI) android-based upper secondary schools. This research is a type of development research.. The data collection method used were interviews, observation and documentation. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results of research that has been developed in the form of application application that is packaged in a * apk directly from MIT App Inventor software. The application is in getting through Bluetooth or download at google play store with the name "PAI Chapter IX".

Abstract

This research aims to develop a guide book of quality management of inclusive islamic education in Madrasah as effort to realize of implementation of inclusive education which effective and efficient. It becomes very important because management of inclusive education is whole process of joint activities in the field of education which includes planning, organization, management, and evaluation by using and utilizing facilities availables; personnel, material, and spiritual. Optimizing the quality culture in management of inclusive education can be done with the development of the spirits, values and beliefs of the school, development of school climate and school culture.

Abstract

The research analyzes the implementation of Islamic values in the education of environmental conception. The subject of this research are the early childhood of two schools that have different principles. Applied Islamic values in the education of environmental conceptionmake the early childhood not only realize their environment but also keeping the world, hence they realize their environment and the world from now that following Islamic rules. The type of applied the education of environmental conceptioncan be used as alternative method for teacher in teaching. So that they can build Indonesia; a healthy country, by the students’ creativity. The applied this education program should have educative values, participation and constancy. This research shows that the environmental education can be created optimally by different methods which depend on the early childhood’s condition and matters toward continuous development of this country.

Abstract

Character education is an effort that should involve all parties, both the household and the family, the school and the school environment, and the wider community. A child will grow and develop optimally when the basic needs of the children's rights are met. But in reality often violent behavior and discrimination that actually carried out by her own parents. Violent behavior and racial discrimination by parents of children often occurs due to the psychological impact of the workload and the demands of a career outside the home or it could be due to a lack of knowledge about how to educate and assist children in the home. Hence, early childhood institutions "KB Ceria" is located in a residential Pendowo Asri, Village Pendowoharjo, Sewon, Bantul has the attention and concern for the development of character-based early childhood family. This is evidenced by the role that institutions not only provide education for young protege, but also provide education and insight about assistance to parents (parenting education) and then this organization called the Group Meeting with Parents (KPO).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui besarnya kesiapan belajar serta keaktifan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta dan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh kesiapan belajar terhadap keaktifan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pemikir untuk memberikan sumbangan pemikiran bagi pengelola pendidikan dan sebagai bahan masukan serta evaluasi pembelajaran khususnya di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa besarnya kesiapan belajar peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta adalah 55.882% dalam kategori Baik dan 44.118% dalam kategori Kurang, sedangkan besarnya keaktifan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta adalah 58.824% dalam kategori Aktif dan 41.176% dalam kategori Kurang. Berdasarkan tabel interpretasi nilai r, nilai r hitung sebesar 0.735 berada pada interval 0.70 – 0.90 sehingga dapat disimpulkan ada hubungan yang kuat antara kesiapan belajar terhadap keaktifan peserta didik di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta. Sedangkan dari hasil analisis regresi linier sederhana dapat diketahui besarnya nilai R square yaitu 0.541, hal ini mengandung pengertian bahwa pengaruh kesiapan belajar terhadap keaktifan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di TK PGRI Nogosari Yogyakarta adalah 54.1% (0.541 x 100%).
