Abstract

The training for language teachers aims to improve the competence of) language teachers in teaching a language in the classroom. By participating in this training, language teachers are expected to be more familiar with games in language teaching and apply them in the classroom so that students' ability to learn languages include foreign language will also increase. The method used is training that is carried out offline and online in three meetings. In the first meeting, language teachers were guided to understand the concept of games in language and foreign language teaching. The second meeting was filled with best practice presentations and practical discussions on making a Learning Implementation Plan by utilizing games in language teaching. In the third session, the participants presented their lesson plans and learning videos from their classrooms. From the results of the training, it is known that after attending the training, language teachers' understanding and mastery of various games in language teaching and learning have increased. Teachers are also ready to apply games in their classrooms. Keywords: Games, language learning, training Abstrak Pelatihan permainan dalam pembelajaran bahasa bagi guru-guru bahasa bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru bahasa dalam pembelajaran bahasa di kelas. Dengan mengikuti pelatihan ini diharapkan guru-guru bahasa lebih mengenal permainan dalam pembelajaran bahasa dan mengaplikasikannta di kelas sehingga kemampuan siswa dalam belajar bahasa termasuk bahasa asing juga semakin meningkat. Metode yang dipakai adalah pelatihan yang dilaksanakan secara luring dan daring dalam tiga kali pertemuan. Pada pertemuan pertama, para pengajar bahasa dibimbing untuk memahami konsep permainan dalam pengajaran bahasa asing. Pertemuan kedua diisi dengan presentasi best practice dan diskusi praktik membuat Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran dengan memanfaatkan permainan dalam pembelajaran bahasa. Sesi ketiga, para peserta mempresentasikan RPP dan video pembelajaran. Dari hasil pelatihan diketahui bahwa setelah mengikuti pelatihan, pemahaman dan penguasaan guru-guru bahasa tentang berbagai permanan dalam pembelajaran bahasa semakin meningkat. Guru-guru juga siap untuk mengaplikasikan permainan dalam pembelajaran bahasa di kelasnya. Kata kunci: pelatihan, pembelajaran bahasa, permainan

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises play a central role in fostering inclusive economic growth, yet many continue to face constraints in accessing wider markets. In increasingly globalized and digitalized business environments, limited foreign language capability has emerged as an underexplored barrier that restricts MSME marketing effectiveness and competitiveness. This study aims to examine how foreign language competence, developed through a structured training and mentoring program, contributes to strengthening MSME marketing practices within a community empowerment context. Adopting a qualitative dominant mixed methods design, the study drew data from participating MSME owners across multiple sectors, including interviews, observations, questionnaires, and analysis of marketing materials produced before and after the intervention. The findings reveal that foreign language capability enhanced participants’ confidence, improved the clarity and functionality of marketing communication, and fostered greater strategic awareness in presenting products to broader audiences. Rather than serving merely as a symbolic attribute, foreign language use functioned as an applied strategic resource that supported more professional branding and customer engagement. However, the results also indicate that capability development was gradual and shaped by contextual constraints such as limited time, digital literacy, and concerns over accuracy. The study contributes to literature by positioning language competence as an intangible form of human capital and strategic capability relevant to MSME competitiveness. Practically, the findings suggest that empowerment programs aligned with sustainable development objectives should integrate foreign language training with applied marketing practice and sustained mentoring to achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.

Abstract

Cultural heritage tourism increasingly requires skilled human mediation to ensure meaningful intercultural exchange and sustainable development. However, many heritage tour guides, particularly those operating within traditional cultural institutions, face limitations in foreign language competence that hinder effective communication with international visitors. Responding to this challenge, this study investigates a foreign language training program implemented for tour guides at Kawedhanan Hageng Panitrapura, Karaton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, Indonesia, and examines its role in community empowerment and local realization of the Sustainable Development Goals. The study aims to analyze how contextually grounded multilingual training contributes to guides’ communicative competence, professional confidence, and cultural representation. A qualitative case study design was employed, drawing on data from post training questionnaires, non-participant observations, and participant reflective feedback involving 22 active heritage tour guides. Data were analyzed thematically using an interpretive framework informed by communicative competence theory, empowerment theory, and education for sustainable development. The findings reveal that the training enhanced participants’ basic communicative abilities in English, French, and German, increased their confidence in interacting with foreign visitors, and strengthened their perception of multilingualism as cultural and professional capital. Contextual and communicative learning activities were identified as particularly effective, while online delivery-imposed constraints on oral interaction and sustained engagement. Beyond linguistic outcomes, the program fostered a stronger sense of professional identity and cultural responsibility among participants. The study concludes that foreign language training embedded within a traditional royal institution can function as a meaningful empowerment mechanism and contribute to multiple Sustainable Development Goals. It highlights the importance of culturally grounded, institutionally legitimate, and partnership-based approaches to language education in heritage tourism contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the morphological transformation of nouns in the construction of German noun phrases and prepositional phrases. Data collection was carried out through read, and note from predetermined data sources. The data corpus was obtained from online German language newspapers Zeit Online, Spiegel, and Morgenpost and analyzed using the Direct Element Division Technique (DEDT). The results of the analysis show that the compound nouns that appear have the following forms: (i) compound nouns with a hyphen “–“, (ii) compound nouns without a hyphen “–“, (iii) compound nouns with zero filling elements, (iv) orthographically several compound nouns are written in a combined way. The use of a hyphen “–“ is one way to vary the morphological construction of compound nouns which contain the nouns Corona, Delta, and Omikron. Several prepositional phrases, which contain only the nouns Corona, Delta, and Omicron, do not have delimiters in the form of determinants as gender markers, so that the nouns Corona, Delta, and Omicron are no longer visible, resulting in deletion of determinants as gender markers. It can be said that the nouns Corona, Delta, and Omikron provide flexibility to German users, especially in carrying out morphological transformations in the formation of other compound nouns with their various variations. AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan transformasi morfologis nomina dalam konstruksi frasa nomina dan frasa preposisi bahasa Jerman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui baca, dan catat dari sumber data yang telah ditetapkan. Korpus data diperoleh dari koran daring berbahasa Jerman Zeit Online, Spiegel,dan Morgenpost dan dianalisis dengan cara Teknik Bagi Unsur Langsung (BUL). Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa nomina majemuk yang muncul memiliki bentuk-bentuk: (i) nomina majemuk dengan tanda sambung “–“, (ii) nomina majemuk tanpa tanda sambung “–“, (iii) nomina majemuk dengan elemen pengisi nol, (iv) secara ortografis beberapa nomina majemuk ditulis dengan cara digabungkan. Penggunaan tanda sambung “–“ merupakan salah satu cara memvariasikan konstruksi morfologis nomina majemuk yang berunsur nomina Corona, Delta, dan Omikron. Beberapa frasa preposisi, yang berunsur hanya nomina Corona, Delta, dan Omikron, tidak memiliki pewatas berupa determinan sebagai pemarkah gender, sehingga gender nomina Corona, Delta, dan Omikron menjadi tidak terlihat, sehingga terjadi pelesapan determinan sebagai pemarkah gender. Dapat dikatakan bahwa nomina Corona, Delta, dan Omikron  memberikan keluwesan kepada pengguna bahasa Jerman khususnya untuk melakukan transformasi morfologis dalam pembentukan nomina majemuk lainnya dengan beragam variasinya.
