Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tipe campur kode Indonesia-Inggris dan menganalisis tipe campur kode Indonesia-Inggris mana yang dominan digunakan dalam lagu-lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh Cinta Laura. Desain penelitian yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah desain deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek investigasi adalah penyanyi. Instrumen pokok adalah peneliti sendiri. Hasil analisis menemukan bahwa berdasarkan kerangka klasifikasi Ho (2007), hanya enam kelompok pola linguistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu: bentuk pendek, kata benda, kata leksikal, frasa, kalimat tidak lengkap dan kalimat penuh tunggal. Sementara itu, berdasarkan klasifikasi Kannovakun dan Gunther (2003), ada lima dari enam kelompok fitur nativized yang diterapkan, yaitu: pemotongan, hibridisasi, konversi, reduplikasi dan pergeseran susunan kata. Berdasarkan kerangka klasifikasi Ho (2007), pola linguistik tertinggi yang sering digunakan adalah kalimat penuh tunggal (54,2 %) diikuti oleh kata-kata leksikal (22,9 %), frasa (8,3 %), kalimat tidak lengkap (8,3 %), kata benda (4,1 %), dan bentuk pendek (2 %). Pola linguistik huruf alfabet tidak ditemukan dalam lagu. Sementara itu, berdasarkan pada fitur nativized diterapkan oleh Kannovakun dan Gunther (2003), reduplikasi ditemukan pada tingkat tertinggi pada 38,5 %, diikuti dengan hibridisasi dan pergeseran susunan kata yang berada di 23 %, pemotongan dan konversi di 7,7 %. The linguistic pattern of letters of the alphabet was not found in the song. Meanwhile, based on the nativized features applied by Kannovakun and Gunther (2003), reduplication was found at the highest level at 38.5%, followed by hybridization and word order shift which were at 23%, truncation and conversion at 7.7%. Abstract

This study was a descriptive qualitative research which aimed at analyzing the grammatical error and the source of grammatical errors in writing a recount text. The subjects of this research were the eighth grade students of SMP N 1 Tejakula. The data were presented in the descriptive analysis way and the procedure of the error analysis used according to Dulay et al (1982). The result of the study the highest errors made by the students were in the errors of selection consisting of 172 errors or 71.4%. It was followed by the errors of omission consisting of 48 errors or 19.9%. Then, it was followed by the errors of addition consisting of 14 errors or 5.8% and the lowest errors were the errors of ordering consisting of 7 errors or 2.9%. The data also indicated that the inter-lingual transfer was the highest source of the errors. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the error of selection is the highest error made by the students and inter-lingual transfer is the highest source of error because it was caused by the mother tongue interference. Kata Kunci : Error analysis, simple past tense,recount text Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif qualitative yang bertujuan untuk menganalis kesalahan grammar dan sumber kesalahan dalam menulis teks recount. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 8 SMP N 1 Tejakula. Data disajikan dengan cara deskriptif analisis dan langkah-langkah yang digunakan untuk menganalisis kesalahan adalah teori dari Dulay et al (1982). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukakan bahwa kesalahan tertinggi yang dibuat oleh siswa adalah kesalahan selection yaitu 172 kesalahan atau 71,4 persen. Diikuti oleh kesalahan omission yaitu 48 kesalahan atau 19,9 persen. Kemudian diikuti oleh kesalahan addition yaitu 14 kesalahan atau 5,8 persen. Dan kesalahan yang paling sedikit adalah kesalaan ordering yaitu 7 kesalahan atau 2,9 persen. Data ini juga menunjukkan bahwa Inter-lingual transfer adalah sumber kesalahan tertinggi. Dari hasil di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa kesalahan selection adalah kesalahan yang paling tinggi dibuat oleh siswa dan inter-lingual transfer adalah sumber kesalahan tertinggi karena disebabkan pengaruh dari bahasa ibu.keyword : analisis kesalahan, simpe past tense, teks recount

The aims were to describe and explain the problems encountered by the students in their narratives. This study used qualitative research design. The subjects of this study were the ninth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Banjar in academic year 2013/2014. The obtained data were in the form of scripts of students? narrative writings, responses of the students? questionnaire and script of teachers? interview. The data were analyzed by using the theory of Halliday and Hasan (1976). The findings of the study showed that (1) the cohesion of the narratives was achieved by the use of cohesive devices. Those devices were: reference (personal, demonstrative, comparative), substitution (verbal, clausal), ellipsis (verbal), and conjunction (additive, adversative, causal, temporal), reiteration and collocation (lexical devices). (2) The coherence of the narratives was achieved through the development of themes, and the generic structure. (3) Some problems of coherence identified were the problems with reference (personal, demonstrative), conjunction (additive, adversative, causal, temporal) and limited choice of lexical item. Asril Marjohan, M.A This study attempted to describe and explain (a) the cohesion of English narrative writings produced by the students under study; (b) the coherence of English narrative writings produced by the students under study; (c) the problems encountered by the students under study in creating cohesion and coherence in their English narrative writing. This study was designed as qualitative study. This study was conducted on 30 students of the ninth grade in SMP Negeri 2 Banjar. The data were collected through students? narrative writings, students? questionnaire and teachers? interview. The data were analyzed by using the theory introduced by Halliday and Hasan (1976). The analysis was concerned with grammatical cohesion (reference, substitution, ellipsis, conjunction), lexical cohesion (reiteration and collocation) and aspect of coherence that were found in the students? writings. The results of this study show that (a) the students were able to use the five types of cohesive devices to make their writing coherent. The first cohesive devices used were reference (70.77%) with personal reference as the dominant use. Then, it was followed by conjunction (28.51%), substitution (0.57%), ellipsis (0.14%). Lexical cohesion was used 137 item dominated with repetition (78%). (b) The students? produced coherence of the narratives through the development of themes, and the generic structure. (c) Some problems of coherence identified were the problems with reference (personal, demonstrative), conjunction (additive, adversative, causal, temporal) and limited choice of lexical item. Penanda kohesi yang dimaksud adalah referensi (70,77%) yang didominasi dengan penggunaan referensi personal. Kemudian, diikuti oleh konjungsi (28.51%,) substitusi (0,57%), ellipsis (0,14%). Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the effect of RAFT strategy and anxiety upon writing competency. It was an experimental research with 2x2 factorial design. The result showed that (a) there was significant difference in writing competency between the students taught by RAFT strategy and those taught by conventional strategy,b) there was an interactional effect between the implementation of RAFT strategy and the students? anxiety, (c) there was significant different in the writing competency between the students? with high anxiety, taught by RAFT strategy and those who are taught by conventional technique, (d) there was significant different in the writing competency between the students? with low anxiety, taught by implementing RAFT strategy and those who are taught by conventional strategykeyword : anxiety, RAFT strategy, writing competency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini difokuskan pada penguatan yang digunakan oleh guru untuk mendorong karakter yang baik dari siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan di North Bali Bilingual School. Berdasarkan temuan dari hasil pengamatan di North Bali Bilingual School ditemukan bahwa di sana menggunakan penguatan positif dan konsekuensi dalam mengembangkan karakter yang baik dari siswa. Para guru di North Bali Bilingual School banyak menggunakan penguatan positif berupa penguatan verbal dan non verbal. Penguatan verbal yang biasanya diberikan oleh guru di North Bali Bilingual School adalah dalam bentuk kata-kata seperti pekerjaan yang baik, bagus, dan menakjubkan. Penguatan non verbal yang diberikan oleh guru dalam bentuk chip, stiker, lima belas menit waktu tambahan untuk waktu perpustakaan, lima belas menit waktu tambahan untuk ruang kreativitas, lima belas menit waktu tambahan untuk beristirahat, super bonus waktu ekstra tiga puluh menit untuk melakukan apa yang mereka inginkan (ruang kreativitas, waktu perpustakaan, waktu istirahat), sertifikat, dan dalam bentuk gerakan tubuh seperti tersenyum, menjabat tangan, dan menyentuh bahu siswa. Di North Bali Bilingual School guru tidak menggunakan penguatan negatif. Para guru di North Bali Bilingual School menggunakan konsekuensi. Pandangan guru terhadap penggunaan penguatan untuk meningkatkan karakter siswa di North Bali Bilingual School yaitu seluruh guru sepakat bahwa penggunaan penguatan dalam mengembangkan karakter siswa sangatlah efektif. Para guru mengatakan bahwa ketika mereka diberikan penguatan para siswa terlihat senang. Pemberian reward jika siswa menunjukkan perilaku yang baik siswa akan membuat siswa mau untuk mengulangi perilaku tersebut.Kata Kunci : Penguatan, karakter This study focused on reinforcement that was used by the teachers to encourage good character of students. This research was conducted at North Bali Bilingual School. Based on the finding from the observation at North Bali Bilingual School it was found that positive reinforcement and consequence were used in developing the good characters. The teachers at North Bali Bilingual School mostly used positive reinforcement in the form of verbal and non verbal reinforcement. The verbal reinforcement which was usually given by the teacher at North Bali Bilingual School was in the form of words such as good job, nice, and amazing. Non verbal reinforcements given by the teachers were in the form of chip, sticker, fifteen minutes extra time for library time, fifteen minutes extra time for creativity room, fifteen minutes extra time for take a rest, super bonus extra time thirty minutes to do what they want (creativity room, library time, rest time), certificate, and in the form of body movement such as smile, shakes hand, and touches the students’ shoulder. The teachers at North Bali Bilingual School used consequence. The teachers view about the Implementation of character building by using reinforcement at North Bali Bilingual School was the entire teachers agreed that using reinforcement in developing the students’ characters is effective. The teachers said that when they reinforced the students, such as by giving reward if the students showed good behavior, the students would keep doing that behavior. keyword : Reinforcement, character

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan penggunaan tata bahasa di dalam tulisan siswa kelas XI IPB SMA Negeri 1 Susut tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan penyebab dari kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 55 siswa yang terdiri dari 28 orang siswa kelas XI IPB1 dan 27 orang siswa kelas XI IPB3. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengumpulan teks narasi dan spoof yang ditulis oleh siswa, penyebaran kuesioner, dan wawancara. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih melakukan kesalahan terkait dengan penggunaan kata kerja, kata ganti, preposisi dan artikel. Kesalahan yang paling banyak dilakukan siswa yaitu kesalahan dalam penggunaan kata kerja, ditandai dengan ditemukannya 477 (62.27%) buah kesalahan di dalam teks narasi, dan 404 buah di dalam teks spoof (65.21%). Frekuensi kesalahan dalam penggunaan preposisi cenderung paling sedikit dilakukan karena hanya ditemukan 78 (10.18%) di dalam teks narasi, dan 40 buah ditemukan di dalam teks spoof. Sedangkan kesalahan dalam penggunaan kata ganti dan artikel hamper sama besarnya di dalam kedua teks, dimana masing-masing dari dua jenis kesalahan tersebut mencapai 13-15% dari keseluruhan jumlah kesalahan di masing-masing teks. Sementara itu, kesalahan-kesalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yakni interlingual transfer (pengaruh bahasa pertama), dan intralingual transfer (overgeneralisasi, kesalahan dalam memahami konsep, kelalaian dalam penggunaan batasan aturan tata bahasa, dan penggunaan tata bahasa yang tidak lengkap). Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas XI IPB SMA Negeri 1 Susut paling banyak melakukan kesalahan pengguanaan kata kerja, sedangkan kesalahan penggunaan preposisi paling sedikit dilakukan siswa. Selain itu, sebagian besar kesalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh pengaruh bahasa pertama siswa. Kata Kunci : kesalahan penggunaan tata bahasa, transfer This study was aimed at analyzing grammatical errors in writing committed by the students of XI IPB in SMA Negeri 1 Susut in academic year 2013/2014. This study also analyzed and described the causes of the errors committed by the students. The subject involved in this study was 55 students, in which twenty eight students were from XI IPB1 and the rest were from XI IPB3. The data were collected through collecting the students‘ narrative and spoof writings, distributing questionnaires, and conducting interview. The result of analysis revealed that the students commit errors in terms of verb form, pronoun, preposition, and article. The most committed errors are around the use of verb form, in which there are 477 (62.27%) in narrative texts, and 403(65.21%) in spoof texts. The frequency of preposition errors is at the least. This kind of errors are found as many as 78 (10.18%) in narrative texts, and 40 (5.83%) in spoof texts. Meanwhile, errors around the use of pronoun and article are both equally committed by the students, in which each error reaches 13-15% of the total errors in both texts. Those errors were caused by the intralingual transfer and interlingual transfer (overgeneralization, false concept of hypothesized, ignorance of rules restriction, and the incomplete application of rules). Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi jenis interaksi yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris dan siswa selama proses belajar mengajar di kelas VIII.14 di SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja dan bertujuan (2) mengidentifikasi tujuan dari jenis-jenis interaksi yang digunakan selama proses belajar dan mengajar. Objek penelitian ini adalah interaksi guru dan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Data yang berupa interaksi antara siswa dan guru bahasa Inggris dikumpulkan melalui tehnik rekam, observasi, dan interview. Kemudian, data yang berhasil dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan model analisis Sinclair dan Coulthard. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, ditemukan bahwa (1) terdapat enam jenis interaksi kelas yang digunakan oleh guru dan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar, yakni: pertanyaan, arah, tanggapan, dorongan, pengabaian, dan pengakuan. dan (2) terdapat delapan tujuan dari dilakukanya jenis-jenis interaksi tersebut, yakni: elisitasi (el), pemeriksaan (ch), pengarahan (d), balasan (rep), komentar (com), tawaran (b), petunjuk (cl), nominasi (n) penerimaan (acc).Kata Kunci : Interaksi Kelas , Sinclair dan Coulthard Teori , I-R-F This is a descriptive qualitative study which aimed at describing: (1) the types of classroom interaction used by the English teacher and students during teaching and learning process at class VIII.14 in SMP Negeri 2 Singaraja and describing (2) the purposes of those types of classroom interaction during teaching and learning process. In order to analyze the data, the model of classroom interaction study, I-R-F, proposed by Sinclair and Coulthard theory was used to identify the classroom interaction. Some methods were used in collecting the data, such as: video recording during the classroom interaction, observation, and interview. According to the results of this study (1) six types of classroom interaction were used by the teacher and students in teaching and learning process, which consisted of Questions, Direction, Response, Prompt, Ignoring, Acknowledgment and (2) eight types of acts were produced to identify the purposes of the types of classroom interaction in the process of teaching and learning which consisted of Elicitation (el), Check (ch), Directive (d), Reply (rep), Bid (b), Clue (cl), Nomination (n), Accept (acc).keyword : Classroom Interaction, Sinclair and Coulthard Theory, I-R-F

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa melalui penggunaan strategi PARTS sebagai strategi mengajar. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 7 SMA Negeri 6 Denpasar yang terdiri atas 39 siswa, 20 laki-laki dan 19 perempuan. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus.Masing-masing siklus terdiri atas tiga sesi, di mana dua sesi digunakan untuk mengimplementasikan strategi PARTS dan satu sesi digunakan untuk mengevaluasi siswa. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan buku harian peneliti, tes, dan kuisioner. Kemudian data tersebut dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Masalah yang muncul ditemukan dari hasil pre-test. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa 58.33 dan hanya 12,82% dari seluruh siswa yang mampu mencapai standar kentuntasan minimum yang disyaratkan sekolah, yaitu 75. Setelah siswa diberikan perlakuan dengan strategi PARTS di siklus pertama, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 70,51 dan 61,51% dari jumlah siswa mampu mencapai standar ketuntasan minimum. Sedangkan siswa yang masih menghadapi masalah dalam membaca dapat dibantu dalam siklus kedua. Nilai rata-rata siswa dalam tes membaca di siklus kedua adalah 79,87 dan seluruh siswa mampu mencapai standar ketuntasan minimum. Peningkatan nilai siswa tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pengimplementasian strategi PARTS dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa. The subjects of this study were XI IPA 7 students of SMA Negeri 6 Denpasar which consisted of 39 students that included 20 females and 19 males. This research was in the form of classroom based action research which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of three sessions, in which two sessions were intended for implementing the PARTS strategy and one session was intended for evaluating the students. The data were collected by using researcher’s diary, test and questionnaire. Then the data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The existing problem was found from the result of pre-test. It was showed that the mean score was 58.33 and there were only 12.82% of the students could pass the standard passing score required by the school, which is 75. After the students were given the treatment of PARTS strategy in the first cycle, the mean score increased to 70.51 and 61.51% of the students could pass the standard passing score. Meanwhile reading problem that still faced by the rest of students could be overcome on cycle II. The mean score of reading test on cycle II was 79.87 and all of the students could pass the standard passing score. That improvement showed that the implementation of PARTS strategy can successfully improve students’ reading competency. keyword : PARTS strategy, reading competency, Classroom based Action Research
