Abstract

Abstract

Waste management is a major challenge in various regions, including in Krajan B Hamlet, Wonorejo Village, Kencong District. The waste management socialization program is one of the efforts to reduce the amount of waste produced and increase public awareness of the importance of waste management. This community service program aims to help the community in converting waste into economic value that is beneficial to the surrounding community. This community service method uses Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). The results of community service show that this waste management socialization has succeeded in making waste a source of additional income for residents which can ultimately create a cleaner and healthier environment. The impact of this community service is expected to change people's attitudes towards waste, reduce pollution, and improve the economic welfare of the community there. Thus, this program is expected to be an example for other regions in creating a cleaner, healthier, more economical environment, and building a more independent and prosperous advanced society.

Abstract

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges for humans around the world today, especially Indonesia. Quoted from various world institutions including the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), it is stated that climate change will continue to occur in the coming decades if no mitigation action is taken. This community service activity aims to increase awareness of students and school residents regarding the importance of reforestation as an effort to mitigate the climate crisis by planting trees on empty land around the school. The program uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method through socialization of the benefits of trees for the ecosystem, tree care steps, and active participation of school residents, especially students, in environmental conservation. The results of the community service activities show an increase in student understanding regarding the role of trees in absorbing carbon dioxide, producing oxygen, and maintaining ecosystem balance. Through this program, students and teachers are inspired to optimally utilize empty land as green space and become one of the solutions in mitigating the impacts of climate change that are increasingly being felt. Despite facing various challenges, such as the effects of weather to limited human resources. However, this movement has succeeded in creating a greener, more comfortable, and healthier learning environment. In order for these benefits to be felt more by all Indonesian people from various elements, we suggest the involvement of policy makers to integrate environmental education into the curriculum, collaboration with various sectors to support the provision of facilities and resources, such as tree seedlings, maintenance tools, and sustainable funding. In addition, a structured monitoring program is needed to ensure the sustainability of the movement.

Abstract

The current implementation of the Independent Curriculum has made many changes in education in Indonesia, but there are many challenges faced in improving the quality of learning, especially by teachers to develop teaching materials. This development research aims to assist teachers in maximizing learning vocabulary interpretation materials through LKPD based on local wisdom for reading skills and viewing narrative texts that are valid and effective to use. The method used in this development research is a model (Research and Development) by Borg and Gall. Data collection was carried out through interviews, product validation, response questionnaires, and learning outcome test sheets. The LKPD developed can be declared valid based on the score of the media, language, and material expert validators, which reaches a score of 82.11, which is a very valid category. The effectiveness of the LKPD shows results that can be declared effective. The increase achieved by students from pre-test to post-test, namely from 27.27% increased to reach 59.09% completeness.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam termasuk mineral.

Abstract

This study employed a classroom action research design to improve students’ learning outcomes in science and social studies through the integration of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model supported by a mind-mapping strategy. The research consisted of two cycles, each comprising four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observation of student activities. The development of test instruments involved expert validation, empirical validity testing, reliability analysis, difficulty index analysis, and discrimination index analysis. The findings revealed that students’ cognitive achievement in the pre-cycle was still below the expected mastery criteria, with an average score of 68.88. After the implementation of PBL assisted by mind mapping in Cycle I, the average score increased to 76.94, followed by further improvement in Cycle II, reaching an average score of 81.38. Observation results also demonstrated progressive enhancement in classroom learning behaviour, including enthusiasm, activeness in questioning, collaboration, confidence during presentations, ability to construct mind maps, and time management. Overall, the results indicate that the integration of PBL and mind-mapping strategies effectively enhances student learning outcomes by strengthening problem-solving engagement and supporting structured cognitive processing throughout the learning activities.
