Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the conceptual understanding of mathematics among fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 023 Pandau Jaya. The research employed a quantitative method with a posttest-only control group experimental design. The subjects consisted of 62 students, with class V-A assigned as the experimental group and class V-B as the control group, using a saturated sampling technique. The research instrument was a descriptive test that had been validated for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminating power. Data were collected through documentation, observation, and testing, then analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent t-tests with the assistance of SPSS software. The results revealed that the posttest data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups with a significance value of 0.013 < 0.05. The mean posttest score of the experimental group was 15.13, which was higher than the control group’s score of 12.00. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model has a positive and more effective impact on improving students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics compared to conventional learning. Therefore, PBL can be recommended as an alternative instructional strategy that fosters active participation, collaboration, critical thinking, and conceptual understanding in mathematics learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyse the relationship between parental attention and elementary school students' discipline. The method used is an ex post facto approach with a quantitative approach. The research population included all 78 fourth and fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 001 Buluh Cina, who were also sampled using a total sampling technique. The research instrument was a closed questionnaire whose validity and reliability had been tested. Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank correlation test and the calculation of the coefficient of determination (R²). The results showed a positive and significant relationship between parental attention and student discipline, with a correlation coefficient of 0.516 and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). This value indicates a moderate category relationship, meaning that the higher the parental attention, the higher the level of student discipline. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 29.6% indicates that parental attention contributes to variations in student discipline, while the remaining 70.4% is influenced by other factors not examined. These findings emphasise the importance of parental involvement in the educational process, both through regular communication and more structured mentoring programs, so that it can support the formation of students' disciplined character more comprehensively.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to describe students' difficulties in solving word problems in mathematics learning on geometrical material in the VA class of SDN 176 Pekanbaru. This research method is a qualitative research using a case study approach. The results and conclusions consist of three types, namely as follows: First, students' difficulties in understanding the concept where there are still students who think that mathematics is material that is difficult, scary and unpleasant to learn. The teacher's efforts to overcome students' difficulties in understanding this concept namely by providing learning motivation to students and using unique and interesting learning media during the learning process. Second, students' difficulties in using principles where students have difficulty knowing and explaining the types of geometric shapes discussed in story problems, while the efforts made by the teacher in overcoming students difficulties in using principles are developing good attitudes and study habits. Third, difficulties in solving verbal problems where students have difficulty interpreting and understanding the meaning of language and story problem instructions, and difficulties in using formulas to be used, while the teacher effort to overcome student difficulties in solving verbal problems are providing sufficient and repeated practice and teaching multiplication student.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the teacher's role as a motivator in the learning interest of grade I students at SDIP YLPI Pekanbaru. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. This study used three data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is according to Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the teacher had carried out the teacher's role as a motivator in the learning interest of grade I students by giving grades or numbers, giving prizes, creating competition, giving praise, giving punishment, giving tests and evaluations, using various learning methods, and informing student learning outcomes

Abstract

Pedagogic competence has an important role in student learning motivation because with strong guidance and encouragement it is able to provide enthusiasm and encouragement so that students change. The success of a lesson depends on how the teacher manages the class and the students. Teachers are not only about how to educate children, but also can understand the characteristics, attitudes and needs of students in order to be able to design learning in the classroom well. This study aims to improve teacher pedagogical competence in class IV SD Islam Plus YLPI Riau. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. This study used three data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is according to Meles and Huberman namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification results. The results of the study show that there is a teacher's pedagogic competence that really needs to be owned by a teacher because it affects the way a teacher teaches.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the implementation of character education for class IV students at MI Darul Ulum Pekanbaru. Apart from that, it describes the inhibiting factors that influence the implementation of character education for class IV students at MI Darul Ulum Pekanbaru. The research method used is a qualitative approach, namely research from an inductive perspective, which relies on participatory item perceptions of social characteristics. Data validity using triangulation. The data analysis technique applied, namely the Miles and Huberman Model, was used. The research results obtained are that the implementation of student character education has been carried out by teachers and schools through three processes, namely: the process of teaching and learning activities (KBM), the process of extracurricular activities, the process of habituation through school culture. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors that influence the implementation of character education for class IV students are firstly the awareness of students who are of primary school/madrasah age, students tend to like to play. Second, limited school control and third, school communication with students' parents.

Abstract

Learning difficulties are disorders that result in a lack of motivation to complete tasks, difficulties in understanding learning principles, and difficulty understanding learning concepts. The purpose of this research is to: 1) analyze the difficulties of learning mathematics in the material on arithmetic operations, multiplication, and division in class IV. 2.) Analyze the factors that can influence the difficulty of learning mathematics in class IV multiplication and division arithmetic operations material. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques, namely tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis used was according to Miles and Huberman. The results of this research show that there are 3 forms of learning difficulties, namely: 1) students' difficulty understanding the concept; 2) students' difficulties in using principles; and 3) students' difficulties in solving verbal problems. Internal factors such as students who are lazy when studying and low student motivation to learn cause students to lack enthusiasm for learning and lack curiosity. External factors such as: 1) The school environment is clean, but the classrooms are so exposed to sunlight that it is difficult to see the blackboard. 2). Complete facilities and infrastructure are rarely used when studying.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how difficult students are in understanding mixed fractional material in class V SDIP YLPI Riau.This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. This study used 4 data collection techniques, namely tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is according to Miles and Huberman. The results showed that there were several difficulties of students in understanding mixed fractional material in class V SDIP YLPI Riau, namely first students' difficulties in understanding concepts, second students' difficulties in using principles. Third, students' difficulties in solving verbal problems. The teacher's efforts to overcome the difficulties of learning mathematics are providing guidance on teaching remedia, providing learning motivation, using learning media, providing sufficient practice and teaching multiplication to students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan peran budaya sekolah dalam menumbuhkan karakter disiplin siswa kelas V SDN 06 Pekanbaru. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan metode studi kasus. Instrument pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa instrument wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data yang mengacu pada metode Miles and Huberman dengan hasil penelitian berupa pendeskripsian tentang peran budaya sekolah dalam menumbuhkan karakter disiplin siswa kelas V SDN 06 Pekanbaru. Ada empat indicator peran budaya sekolah dalam menumbuhkan karakter disiplin siswa yaitu : gerakan literasi sekolah, ekstrakurikuler, menetapkan kegiatan awal dan akhir KMB, menetapkan tata tertib sekolah. Hasil yang ditemukan dilapangan sudah sesuai dengan teori, sebagian besar budaya sekolah berperan penting dalam menumbuhkan karakter disiplin siswa disekolah. Dengan terlaksananya keempat indikator peran akan membuat siswa memiliki karakter disiplin. Dengan kegiatan literasidapat menumbuhkan karakter siswa yang gemar membaca dan sikap disiplin melalui pembiasaan literasi setiap harinya, didalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dapat membantu dalam proses pembentukan karakter disiplin dan kepribadian peserta didik, menetapkan kegiatan awal dan akhir KMB dapat melatih kedisiplinan dengan memberikan contoh teladan kepada siswa, dalam menetapkan tata tertibmerupakan langkah guru untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa melalui penegakan-penegakan peraturan didalam kelas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 017 Jaya Kopah . Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi dan minat siswa terhadap hasil belajar tematik di kelas III SDN 017 Jaya Kopah. Waktu penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 18-28 September 2023. Bentuk penelitian ini adalalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode survey dengan pendekatan korelasi. Sampel yang dijadikan penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IIIA dan IIIB. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa motivasi belajar tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar karena nilai sig 0.071>0,05 dan nilai t hitung 1.866<t tabel .minat belajar berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar yang dibuktikan dari hasil penelitian nilai sig 0,003<0,05 dan nilai t hitung 3.191>2.034. secara simultan cara motivasi dan minat belajar secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar dengan nilai Fhitung 6.406>F tabel dengan nilai sig 0,001<0,05 dengan prsentase 66,5%. Kondsi ini menunjukkan jika cara belajar dan motivasi belajar ditingkatkan maka akan mendorong peningkatan hasil belajar yang lebih baik dan tentunya bermanfaat bagi kelancaran proses pembelajaran di SDN 017 Jaya Kopah
