Abstract

Background : The outbreak of COVID-19 ended up as a massive global pandemic, caused government to determine lockdown and social distancing to cut the transmission. People are forced to work and study from home. The change of study method from face to face to online learning caused the study to be ineffective. These problems can cause academic stress in medical student. Demands and diffuculties during pandemic can cause downfall of academic achievement, concentration in study, failure in study and psychology disorders. Objective : To determine the correlations of online learning and academic stress during COVID-19 pandemic in medical student. Methods : This is a research is quantitative analytic using cross sectional that conducted to preclincal student, faculty of medicine nusa cendana university. The data were collected using the questionaire of online studying and academic stress from previous study based on theory. The sampels were chosen using stratified random sampling methods with 157 samples from 2018, 2019 and 2020 batch that fullfiling the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study was analyzed by univariate and bivariate using the koefisien contigency test. Result and discussion : From this study it is found that out of 157 respondents, 52,9% of the respondents experienced academic stress, and 47,1% had not academic stress. Besides, it is also found that 51,6% had good level of online learning and 48,4% had very good level of online studying. The result of bivariate analyzed was p = 0,000 (p<0,05) using the keofisien contingency test shows there is a correlation between online learning and academic stress during COVID-19 pandemic on preclinical student faculty of medicine. Conclusion : The better online learning occur, the lower the level of academic stress.

Abstract

Background: Metabolic syndrome is a condition in which the formation of a group of metabolic dysregulations occurs, namely insulin resistance, atherogenicdyslipidemia, central obesity, and hypertension. The imbalance between calorieintake and calorie use will result in obesity, where obesity is a major component ofmetabolic syndrome. Physical activity is one of the factors causing metabolic syndrome. Aim: Analyzing the relationship of physical activity to the incidence of metabolicsyndrome in the academic community of Nusa Cendana University. Method: This research method is correlation analytics with Cross Sectional design, which is research used to analyze the relationship between dependent andindependent variables with data collection carried out simultaneously at one time. In this study, data analysis for physical activity was carried out by filling out the GPAQ (Global Physical Activity Questionnaire) questionnaire and for thediagnosis of metabolic syndrome based on the criteria of the Adult Treatment Panel(ATP) III. using Phi Cramer's V test with the variable level of the Bivariate testP<0.05. Results: The test results using the Phi Cramer's V statistical test obtained that therewas no association of physical activity and metabolic syndrome with p = 0.850(p<0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between physical activity and theincidence of metabolic syndrome in the academic community of Nusa Cendana University. Abstract

When experiencing menstruation, it is often accompanied by pain which is commonly called dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea experienced can cause discomfort both during activities and at rest so that it can affect sleep quality. The sleep quality of medical students is bad, apart from the lecture burden, it is suspected that it can also be influenced by the intensity of pain, such as when experiencing primary dysmenorrhea. To determine the relationship between primary dysmenorrhea and sleep quality in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana. Data was conducted by filling out the primary dysmenorrhea questionnaire and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire by 106 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Sampling was done by using stratified random sampling technique. The result was analyzed univariate and bivariate using Phi Correlation test. Data from 106 respondents showed that 63.2% of respondents experienced primary dysmenorrhea and as many as 36.8 respondents did not experience primary dysmenorrhea. For sleep quality, 80.2% of respondents had poor sleep quality and 19.8% of respondents had good sleep quality. In this study, it was found that more respondents had primary dysmenorrhea with poor sleep quality than good sleep quality. The results of the bivariate analysis with the Phi Correlation test showed the results of p value=0.520 (p> 0.05). There is no significant relationship between primary dysmenorrhea and sleep quality in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Nusa Cendana.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Dandruff is a condition of exfoliation of the corneum layer of the scalp forming white flakes, which is most common in adolescents because the sebaceous glands actively produce sebum causing increased colonization of Malassezia sp. yeast, the cause of dandruff. A factor that influences the incidence of dandruff is personal hygiene behavior. Adolescents in orphanages have a high risk of experiencing dandruff due to poor personal hygiene behavior, one of which is the use of personal items alternating to fellow friends. Objective: To determine whether there is a correlation between personal hygiene behavior and the incidence of dandruff (Pityriasis sicca) in adolescents living in orphanages in Kelapa Lima Sub-District, Kupang City. Methods: This study used an observational analytic research design with a cross-sectional study design. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling method according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria by taking the minimum number of respondents using the Lemeshow formula so that 55 respondents were obtained. Data collection using personal hygiene behavior questionnaire and wood lamp inspection. Data analysis using the fisher exact test. Results: The correlation between personal hygiene behavior and the incidence of dandruff obtained p-value = 0.223 (p>0.05) with fisher exact test, so it does not have a significant correlation. Two items of personal hygiene behavior on the questionnaire, namely the use of sleeping pillows alone / changing with others has a p-value = 0.007 (p < 0.05), and shampooing after completing outdoor activities and long-term exposure to polluting dust has a p-value = 0.016, so it has a significant correlation with the incidence of dandruff. Conclusion: There is no significant correlation between personal hygiene behavior and the incidence of dandruff in adolescents living in orphanages in Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City.
