Abstract

Abstract

Land is an important part especially for the poor because land is able to provide opportunities for the poor to get out of poverty. Land redistribution is one of the policies aimed at reducing poverty levels. This study uses a literature study and descriptive statistic to see the effect of Land reform in the form of land redistribution on poverty. Based on the results of reviews of previous studies, it was found that most concluded that land redistribution had a negative effect on poverty levels. Studies conducted in Indonesia related to land redistribution confirm the results that land redistribution can reduce poverty levels through increasing income from production in the agricultural sector and access to credit. This implies that land redistribution is the right policy to reduce poverty so that it needs to be increased both in terms of number and accuracy of target recipients. Keywords: Poverty. Abstract

This paper applies Gravity and Malmquist index approach to investigate energy trade efficiency between Indonesia and East Asia Countries (i.e. Japan, South Korea, and China). Gravity model is employed to identify the inputs that will be used in computing the energy trade efficiency; meanwhile, Malmquist index approach to identify the energy trade efficiency by taking data from 2000-2015. One of the findings shows that the considered inputs that will be utilised are population of importer countries, Indonesian population, relative distance, and ratio of added value of industry sector towards GDP. In addition, the energy trade efficiency between Indonesia and East Asia countries from 2000 to 2015 was composed by technical change or technical/ potential change. China averagely had the highest efficiency and showed improvement like South Korea did. Japan showed, on the other hand, deterioration.

Abstract

The main business development problem in the sub-district of Turen Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) is the lack of a business plan which incorporates broad aspects such as access to capital, marketing, and the involvement of local resources. Yet, the MSME community has existed in Turen and is responsible for business development activities. Therefore, this program provides knowledge and skills about designing business plans and forming a business development model based on the MSMEs community. 30 MSMEs from Turen Sub-district participated in this program that was executed from May to July 2023 in several stages: i) socialization and program preparation; ii) implementation of technical guidance; and iii) evaluation. Firstly, the result is the design of a training program emphasising business management, financial literacy and digital marketing. Then at the implementation stage, materials were delivered by academics and practitioners. Finally, from the evaluation, positive feedback is expressed where MSMEs got the knowledge and practical skills with assistance from trainers. By far, MSMEs only oversee business opportunities without considering market share, competition and business development plans for the future. The MSMEs community uses this to manage upcoming activities, supported by a structured schedule and adequate trainers. In the future, prioritized training will be digitalization of financial reports and techniques for preserving processed food products.

Bali has two village governance systems: administrative-village and customary-village. Administrative-village is the extension of government’s authority in administrative aspects. Meanwhile, customary-village (pakraman village) denotes traditional institution that has a function to organize krama (residents) based on the awig-awig (customary law). The role of customary-village is fundamental in carrying on the custom and culture of Bali as well as triggering the economical aspect from the society through Village Credit Institution (LPD). This study is intended to describe the existence of social capital over the LPD by employing inductive-qualitative approach. Social capital over the LPD can improve the societies’ harmony that have been established in advance. Furthermore, the social capital bonding, bridging and linking can be used continuously in social life.
