Abstract

Kata Kunci: Globalisasi, Ekonomi Inklusif, Infrastruktur, 3SLS Abstract In the middle of the last century, globalization and technological waves have created competition in the international market. To win the competition, some countries are pushing policies toward trade openness and attracting as much foreign investment as possible. These policies will accelerate development and increase economic growth, but will also increase income inequality. This study examines the relationship between exports and foreign investment, as an indicator of globalization, with economic growth and income inequality, as an indicator of inclusive growth, in middle-income ASEAN countries using a Three Stage Least Square (3SLS) panel regression analysis during the period 1995-2015. The empirical finding indicates that, in the concept of globalization, there is a significant two-way relationship between exports and foreign investment. On the other hand, in the concept of inclusive growth, there is also a significant two-way relationship between economic growth and income inequality. Meanwhile, exports and foreign investment, as indicators of globalization, can positively encourage inclusive economic growth only in upper middle-income ASEAN countries. Therefore, it is recommended to encourage policies that facilitate exports, especially for products that have high added value and competitive products, so that the contribution of exports increases and is able to increase the country's economic growth. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the fiscal decentralization component on poverty, directly or indirectly, through pro-poor expenditures in Special Regions of Yogyakarta. The Privileges of the Special Region of Yogyakarta mentioned what distinguishes it from the other provinces so that it is called a special region is the privilege to establish a social order that guarantees diversity and the critical role of the Sultanate and Duchy of Pakualaman in preserving culture. However, poverty in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is spread in every district. On the other side, more than two decades of efforts to address poverty have been through fiscal decentralization. During the era of fiscal decentralization, there were problems from the revenue and expenditure sides. It is a question related to the successful implementation of fiscal decentralization. This study uses path analysis with secondary data. The result of this study is that the component of local revenue can play a role in poverty reduction directly through local-own source revenue. The indirectly effect shows that poverty alleviation can also be done through the role of local-own source revenue through pro-poor expenditure instruments.

Abstract

Success in rural development lies in identifying and developing the appropriate factors to make development work. Finding the best way to achieve successful rural development is a question that is currently difficult to answer. This study aims to identify the factors that can influence the success of village development, by focusing on the variables contained in each dimension of the Village Development Index (IDM), namely the dimensions of social resilience, economic resilience, environmental resilience, and village fiscal independence. This study focuses on the conditions of 5,312 villages in West Java Province, Indonesia. The data in this study is obtained from the Village Potential (Podes) 2019 micro data and Village Development Index 2020 by conducting descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that sustainable development in villages can be achieved by ensuring the availability of village social infrastructure, and increasing the effectiveness of village economic institutions. In addition, the government needs to ensure the focused and strategic development plans so that village revenue can be efficiently utilized for development. These factors must be utilized by all village communities in order to avoid conflicts that occur in the village.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI), developed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), serves as a key indicator for measuring the well-being of a population. Between 2010 and 2022, HDI levels in eight ASEAN countries experienced notable improvements. However, significant disparities remain among developing nations within the region. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing HDI, namely Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment rate, foreign direct investment (FDI), and exchange rate. The research employs an associative approach using panel data regression analysis on eight developing ASEAN countries Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia over a 13-year period from 2010 to 2022. This is a quantitative study applying the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach. The findings indicate that GDP and the unemployment rate have a significant positive impact on human development. In addition, both FDI and the exchange rate also exhibit a significant positive influence on HDI. These results highlight the importance of macroeconomic and investment-related factors in promoting human development across developing ASEAN economies.
