Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between inflation, BI interest rates, and exchange rates on Mudharabah and Murabahah financing at Sharia Commercial Banks. This research is a quantitative study that applies the Johansen Integration Test and Vector Error Correction Model to see the long-term impact and shock response on certain variables. Research findings show that the exchange rate has a significant negative impact in the short term on Mudharabah financing income, while inflation factors and BI interest rates have a smaller negative impact in the short term. The receipt of Murabahah financing is negatively affected by all factors, especially inflation, BI interest rates, and currency exchange rates. Inflation and exchange rates have a significant negative impact in the long run on Mudharabah and Murabahah financing income, while BI interest rates have a small positive impact in the long run. Recommendations based on the results of this study are the importance of maintaining exchange rate stability and controlling inflation, as well as the need for effective risk management in the face of exchange rate fluctuations and inflation. In addition, Islamic banks need to improve operational efficiency, educate customers about economic risks, and encourage collaboration between relevant institutions for further research and better policy development.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the tangible impact of digital technology on improving the livelihoods and income of fishermen in Batam, in alignment with the principles of a sustainable blue economy. Research Methodology: The research employed a quantitative and qualitative approach through direct field surveys conducted with 52 local fishermen in Batam. The data collected focused on digital tool usage, income changes, and perceived benefits and challenges. Results: Findings reveal that digital technologies—such as meteorological forecasting applications and online marketing platforms—serve as crucial drivers for economic transformation. Approximately 80% of the observed income increases are attributable to digital literacy and technology use. Notably, over 50% of respondents reported a direct rise in income after adopting digital marketing strategies. Conclusion: Digitalization significantly boosts fishermen’s income and economic resilience. However, this transition is impeded by limited technological adaptation among older generations and inadequate internet infrastructure in coastal regions. Limitations: The study is limited by its sample size and geographic scope, focusing solely on fishermen in Batam, which may limit the generalizability of the results to other archipelagic regions. Contribution: This research offers critical insights for policymakers by highlighting the importance of accessible technology training and robust internet infrastructure. These are key to ensuring equitable digital transformation and enhancing the global competitiveness of local fishing communities in Batam.

Abstract

Food insecurity remains a persistent challenge in the Papua Highlands of Indonesia, driven by geographic isolation, limited infrastructure, low agricultural productivity, and high dependence on external food supplies. This study aims to identify priority strategies for strengthening food security through a community-based local food system approach by applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The analysis is structured around the four dimensions of food security proposed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), namely availability, access, stability, and utilization. Data were collected from key stakeholders through pairwise comparison questionnaires, complemented by focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. The results indicate that food availability is the most dominant criterion, followed by access, stability, and utilization. Across all dimensions, Local Food Production emerges as the highest-priority alternative, highlighting the strategic importance of strengthening upstream agricultural capacity to ensure sufficient and sustainable food supply. Infrastructure and Market Access ranks second, emphasizing the role of transportation, storage, and market connectivity in improving distribution efficiency and affordability. Community-Based Food Institutions and Nutrition Programs and Social Protection function as complementary interventions, supporting governance, coordination, and the protection of vulnerable groups. The convergence of the AHP results with the FAO food security framework and the Food Security and Vulnerability Atlas (FSVA) of the Indonesian National Food Agency (BPN) confirms that structural strengthening of local food systems, supported by infrastructure development and institutional capacity building, constitutes the most effective pathway for enhancing food security and resilience in the Papua Highlands. These findings provide an evidence-based basis for formulating integrated and context-sensitive food security policies in remote and highland regions.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explain how integrated Human Resource (HR) governance strengthens coordination mechanisms and improves organizational performance in the shipbuilding industry in Batam. Methodology: This study adopts a qualitative case study approach involving three major shipyard companies in Batam, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with nine key informants, including HR managers, operations heads and project supervisors. The data were analyzed thematically to identify the relationships between HR governance practices, coordination processes, and performance outcomes. Results: The study identified four key findings. First, integrated workforce planning aligns the labor allocation with the project timelines, thereby reducing delays and rework. Second, cross-functional coordination supported by shared HR governance frameworks improves communication across units, enabling faster decision making and problem solving. Third, structured training and competency development programs enhance workforce adaptability and improve technical accuracy. Fourth, integrated performance evaluation systems that combine individual and team-based indicators strengthen accountability and collaboration, resulting in improved productivity and organizational responsiveness. Conclusions: The findings show that integrated HR governance plays a vital role in strengthening coordination, improving organizational performance, and enhancing competitiveness through collaborative leadership and an open organizational culture. Limitations: This study is limited to three large shipyard companies in Batam; therefore, the findings may not fully represent practices across the broader maritime industry. Contributions: Theoretically, this study enriches the literature on integrated HR governance by providing empirical evidence from the shipbuilding sector. Practically, it provides guidance for managers and policymakers in developing adaptive, collaborative, and performance-oriented HR systems.
