Abstract

DOWNLOAD PDFThe aims of study to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of biology-based learning device based on the theory of social constructivism Vygotsky in Senior High School. This study included the type of research development. The development of learning device apply learning development procedure 4-D model which consists of define, design, develop, disseminate step. Results of analysis of research data suggests that the biology of learning  devices  based on the theory of social constructivism Vygotsky in Senior High School achieved the criteria of quailty, they are (1) validity where the validity of the lesson plan reach average 3.77 (very valid category), the validity score of the students book 3.75 (very valid category), and the validity average score of the students worksheet is 3.78 (very valid category). (2) the practicality, where rationally the theory is stated that sitable to be used by experts and practitioners based on the score of validity which very valid category and in real terms in the field has been applied with an overal average of implementation 3.81 (very god implemented category). (3) effectiveness, in which the ability of teachers to manage learning with a value of 3.65 (very high category), the activity levels of students with an ideal time activity, the responses of students with positive responses, and learning test results reached with the level of mastery classically achieve 88.89% mastery. Abstract

Independent campus is the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This study aims to determine whether through MBKM the soft-skills of biology education study program students have increased. this research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires distributed to biology education study program students who take part in the MBKM program. The results showed that the existence of MBKM activities had a good impact on improving the hard-skills and soft-skills of students, which could be seen from a number of respondents' answers, namely: 1) the ability to follow the MBKM program online; 2) the ability to adapt to new friends; 3) the ability to discuss, collaborate, provide advice in teams/groups; 4) the ability to use technological media; 5) the ability to analyze problems and solve problems in teams/groups; 6) the ability to make decisions with consideration of comparing opinions with one another; 7) the ability to follow the rules in MBKM activities as an attitude to improve learning discipline, besides that the improvement of hard-skills and soft-skills through the MBKM program can be seen in the Student Report obtained after the MBKM program is completed which lists the competency scores of hard-skills and soft-skills. Keywords: Biology Education Study Program Students, Merdeka Learning Merdeka Campus (MBKM), Soft Skills

Abstract

Settlements that develop around rivers will result in problems with the disposal of household waste to the riverbanks. There is quite a lot of household waste that enters the river. This study aims to determine the pollution index of the tributaries of the Kahayan Mendawai 7 Palangka Raya River to the fish in the river. The analysis was carried out using water quality analysis based on the MPN (Most Probable Number) Coliform, consisting of three test stages, namely an estimation test using Lactose Broth (KL) medium, a confirmation test using Brilliant Green Lactose Broth (BGLBB) medium, and a certainty test. using Mac Concey Agar (MCA) medium. This type of research is a direct survey method and laboratory analysis. this research was carried out in October 2021. The results of this study were obtained based on the formula and table of MPN values, three series of tubes were obtained with the total MPN Cokiform value in the estimating test of 2,400 cells/100 ml sample, the MPN value confirming test 28 cells/100 ml sample, and the number of Escherichia coli colonies in the certainty test were 69 colonies, so the water quality of the tributary of the Kahayan Mendawai 7 Ujung City of Palangka Raya was in the category of polluted and unfit for consumption.Keywords: Household Waste, Water Quality

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peranan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang beketerampilan dan berpengetahuan, serta berdaya saing. Manusia yang terdidik memiliki kemampuan berpikir kreatif, unggul dan memiliki nilai tambah, berguna untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dalam menghadapi era globalisasi di SMA Negeri 8 Kota Ternate, telah menggunakan literasi digital, hal ini dapat menyebabkan kurang efektif hasil belajar siswa. oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian tentang Hubungan Antara Literasi Digital dengan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Kota Ternate. Tujuan penelitian ini antara lain (1) untuk mengetahui hubungan literasi digital dengan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri Kota ternate (2) untuk mengetahui literasi digital siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Kota ternate (3) untuk mengetahui tingkat hasil belajar biologis siswa kelas XI.Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan quasai Eksperiment Design (eksperimen semu) dan menggunakan desain nonequivalen control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kels XI SMA Negeri 8 Kote Ternate. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI-A dan kelas XI-B. pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan pertimbangan dan tujuan tertentu. Instrumen dan teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan soal tes dan angket.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pengetahuan umum literasi digital siswa dengan menggunakan soal tes menunjukan bahwa nilai rata-rata pretest  97,69 dan nilai rata-rata posttest adalah 88,66. Hasil analisis dengan Independent Sample t Test Paired Sample t didapatkan nilai signifikan 0,000. Nilai sig (2- tailed) = 0,000 <0,05 maka H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh literasi digital dengan hasil belajar biologi siswa SMA Negeri 8 Kota Ternate.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning model teached students to increase environmental literacy and formulate solutions to environmental problems. Environmental literacy is a conscious attitude to pay attention and maintain the environment so that it was always maintained, sustainable, and maintained in balance. The conscious attitude in question was a sensitive attitude towards the environment and knowing the problems that occured. Someone who has knowledge about the environment, is not only limited to theory, but also able to be responsive and agile in overcoming various problems that occur in the surrounding environment. This study aims to analyze the effect of Problem Based Learning on environmental literacy in class X students of SMA Negeri 2 West Halmahera and to analyze the increase in environmental literacy of class X students of SMA Negeri 2 West Halmahera with the application of Problem Based Learning. This type of research is quantitative research using quasi-experiments (Quasi Experiments). The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 West Halmahera, Gam Ici street, Central Ibu district. The population used in this study were students of SMA Negeri 2 West Halmahera, with samples from class X C and class X D. The data and data sources in this study were pretest and posttest questions, teacher and student observation sheets, and environmental care attitude questionnaires. Data collection techniques in research using observation and tests. The data collected, then analyzed by prerequisite test (normality and homogeneity test), hypothesis test and N-Gain test.Keywords: Development of LKS, Tridacna, Widi Island

Abstract

Individuals’ behaviors are regulated by how they perceive themselves and their surroundings. Learning that encourages students to be active will provide more effective environment to facilitate them to achieve predetermined learning objectives. It is very important to identify college students’ perception and investigate to what extent they can understand learning strategies that are being implemented. This research was a descriptive quantitative research which involved 142 biology education students. Two questionnaires were distributed to obtain students’ perception on the implementation of Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA) and Argument Driven Inqury (ADI) learning strategies. As to collect more data, observation and interviews were also conducted. Research findings indicate that (1) 38,32% of the students have ever heard about RQA, but only 18,60 of them have experienced learning biology with RQA;  (2) around 24,26% of the students are quite familiar with ADI, however, only 9,45% have been taught using the strategy.

Abstract

Surveys from some research on Indonesian student’s literacy skills showed irregularity with Indonesia's literacy rate. Therefore, it can be said that most of Indonesians have already been literate, in terms of education. Nonetheless, their literacy skills in common still remains weak. Moreover, student’s low literacy skills are deemed as the result of low interest at reading. A number of problems in reading skill is closely associated with limited reading experiences and practices. The current research aims to describe student’s knowledge and thinking skills in a Li-Pro-GP model of instruction. The syntax of this learning model is project-based learning that is integrated with the School Literacy Movement (SLM) and Character Education Reinforcement (CER) programs. The research fell into a descriptive research model.  Research subjects, seventh graders attending IPA instructions. Data of the research were analyzed descriptively, which indicated improvement in terms of knowledge and thinking skills amidst students. In addition, the highest level of language use was found at the test for Aspect C2, C4, C5, and C6, whilst the highest level of conceptual truth was indicated at Aspect C3. On the other hand, the lowest level of giving argumentation appeared at all aspects. In sum, the highest level of skills was indicated by the language use, while the lowest at the student’s confidence in giving argumentation.

Abstract

Diarrhea is a major health issue often caused by Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This study aims to evaluate the antibacterial activity of a combination of Arcangelisia flava, Curcuma longa, and Curcuma zanthorrhiza extracts against these bacteria. The research was conducted in vitro using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with extract concentrations of 30%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, along with positive and negative controls. Antibacterial tests were carried out using the disk diffusion method to measure the inhibition zones after 24, 48, and 72 hours of incubation. The results showed the highest inhibition zones at 100% concentration, reaching 1.38 mm for Bacillus sp. and 1.33 mm for Pseudomonas aeruginosa after 72 hours. This antibacterial activity is supported by active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and curcumin. In conclusion the combination of these extracts effectively inhibits diarrhea-causing bacteria and has potential as a safe herbal alternative to address antibiotic resistance.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are the ability to interpret, reason, and evaluate information in order to make the right decisions. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Pj4CS (Integrated Project-Based and 4C-Scaffolding) learning model on students' critical thinking skills. This is a quasi-experimental study, with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research instrument includes valid and reliable critical thinking skills test questions. The results of the study showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value <0.05, so the research hypothesis was accepted. This means that there is a significant effect of the Pj4CS learning model on the critical thinking skills of class XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Ternate. The Pj4CS model can be used by teachers as an alternative in strengthening students' critical thinking skills and preparing them to face the challenges of the 21st century. These results are expected to contribute to improving the quality of learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Keterampilan proses komunikasi dapat menstimulasi pengembangan keterampilan interpersonal siswa. Keterampilan komunikasi sangat dibutuhkan untuk membangun kegiatan ilmiah, khususnya dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian quasy eksperiment (eksperimen semu), dilaksanakan di MAN 2 Watampone Kabupaten Bone, Sulawesi Selatan pada kelas XI IPA. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA MAN 2 Watampone yang berjumlah 80 orang. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 2 yang berjumlah 28 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran WE-ARe ( pemanasan, eksplorasi, argumentasi, resume) terhadap keterampilan komunikasi . Oleh karena itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model WE-ARe memberikan kontribusi positif pada peningkatan keterampilan komunikasi siswa kelas XI MAN 2 Watampone Kabupaten Bone, Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan kompetensi peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan belajar di era digital dan kurikulum merdeka belajar.
