Abstract

Sufism has generally been regarded as the confluence that helps to facilitate Islamization in Indonesia by opening accommodating spaces for local beliefs and practices. This article examines manuscripts as historical records to show concrete examples of how Sufi interpretations of local culture are constructed. This article is not only based on philological studies of the Abang Ahmad Tahir Manuscript Collections (MSS AAT), but also observations and interviews from the field between 2012 and 2019. This article argues that the MSS AAT have provided appropriate examples of the confluence of Dayakness and Islam. Not only has MSS AAT presented dynamic engagement between critically selected local traditions of cosmology and specific elements of Sufi textual discourses, but it has also noted the ways in which such texts further indicate both the Islamisation of local communities and how they vernacularise interpretations of Islam in Kapuas Hulu, which is situated in the hinterland of West Kalimantan

Abstract

Indonesia, dengan keberagaman budaya, agama, dan etnis yang kaya, memerlukan pendidikan yang menanamkan wawasan multikultural sejak dini untuk membangun masyarakat yang harmonis. Pendidikan multikultural bertujuan menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang setara bagi seluruh siswa. Hambatan dalam pendidikan multikultural antara lain kurangnya media pembelajaran dan rasa etnosentrisme tinggi dari siswa maupun guru. SDN 18 Sungai Raya menjadi contoh institusi yang menerapkan nilai-nilai multikultural dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Praktik-praktik seperti salaman antara siswa dan guru piket setiap pagi, serta rutinitas piket yang melibatkan tugas memungut sampah dan menyiram bunga, menanamkan rasa saling menghormati, tanggung jawab, dan kerjasama. Konsep wawasan multikultural mencakup penghargaan terhadap keberagaman, inklusivitas, keadilan, interaksi antarbudaya, dan integrasi kurikulum. Implementasi multikulturalisme di SDN 18 Sungai Raya juga melibatkan pelatihan guru, menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang mendukung, serta melibatkan orang tua dan komunitas lokal. Moderasi beragama diterapkan melalui kebiasaan sehari-hari yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai saling menghormati dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan. Dampak positif dari kebiasaan ini meliputi pembentukan karakter siswa yang disiplin dan bertanggung jawab, serta penghargaan terhadap keberagaman. Namun, terdapat tantangan seperti potensi ketidakadilan dalam pembagian tugas dan tekanan pada siswa. Secara keseluruhan, pendekatan ini berhasil membentuk siswa-siswi yang berakhlak mulia, bertanggung jawab, dan menghormati keberagaman, meskipun dihadapkan dengan beberapa tantangan.

Abstract

The continuity and change of reformation ideas in the history of the Islamic intellectual movement necessitate a systematic categorization. This article endeavors to present a fresh framework for classifying Islamic thought, drawing inspiration from Fazlur Rahman’s categories of revivalist, classical modernist, neo-revivalist, and neo-modernist. More specifically, this article  examines a reclassification of Islamic thought and elaborates on its implications for the contemporary historical narrative of the Islamic intellectual movement within the Indonesian context. By undertaking a comprehensive literature review and employing a descriptive methodology for data collection and analysis, this article found out eight categories or typologies characterizing contemporary Islamic intellectual movements in Indonesia: (1) the revivalist movement, (2) the classical modernist movement, (3) the neo-revivalist movement, (4) the neo-modernist movement, (5) the traditionalist movement, (6) the neo-traditionalist movement, (7) the post-modernist movement, and (8) the post-traditionalist movement. These typologies commence with the emergence of classical modernism juxtaposed against classical traditionalism as the turning point of the dialectical progression of Indonesian Islamic intellectualism. Each typology has undergone a transformative process and metamorphosis within a dynamic scientific dialectic.

Abstract

The concept of Islamic moderation has gained increasing relevance in response to the global rise of religious extremism and socio-political intolerance. This article explores the moderate Islamic thought of three influential contemporary scholars: Yusuf al-Qaradawi, Nurcholish Madjid, and Abdurrahman Wahid. Each offers distinct yet complementary interpretations of moderation, bridging normative Islamic teachings with contemporary societal contexts. Their approaches emphasize tolerance, pluralism, and constructive engagement with modernity. Using a comparative and qualitative methodology grounded in primary sources and interpretive traditions, this study uncovers the epistemological foundations of their views. Despite differing cultural and political backgrounds, all three thinkers consistently advocate for the principle of wasatiyyah (the middle path) as both a theological and sociological framework. Their contributions provide a normative basis for educational reform, interfaith dialogue, and the cultivation of civic ethics in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

Islam dan Hak asasi manusia sebenarnya sudah disinggung oleh para founding father Indonesia dalam merumuskan naskah Undang Undang Dasar (UUD) Republik Indonesia 1945. Dalam perspektif pendidikan sendiri hak asasi manusia memiliki keserasian yaitu berorientasi pada terbentuknya kepribadian serta akhlak yang luhur dengan menanamkan nilai-nilai toleransi pada masyarakat sejak dini yang berkelanjutan dengan mengembangkan rasa saling pengertian dan menghormati hak-hak oranglain. Islam dan Hak Asasi Manusia saling keterkaitan, karena Islam sangat peduli terhadap masalah hak asasi manusia, dan memberikan jaminanterhadap pelanggaran-pelanggaran yang menyangkut masalah hak asasi manusia.

Abstract

The advent of science and technology, which has resulted in the digitalization of the Indonesian Muslim community during the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and the advent of Society 5.0, has prompted a shift in the religious literature of Indonesian Muslims. This research aims to examine the impact of digitalization in the post-truth era on the behavior of Muslims who tend to seek solutions to their religious problems outside the traditional religious authority. The data sources for this study were collected through observation, interviews, and a review of relevant literature in the form of documents or online data. In terms of socio-religious factors, this research identified three key elements that have contributed to the shift in the religious literature of Indonesian Muslims from the ulama to social media. Firstly, the internet and social media provide Muslims with convenient access to information and resources that can address their daily religious concerns promptly and effectively. Secondly, the rise in community religious activity has not been accompanied by a corresponding increase in digital literacy, particularly in the use of social media. Thirdly, the solutions to religious problems obtained by Muslims through social media are immediate, leading to a less comprehensive and more partial understanding of Islam. Digitalization has led Indonesian Muslims to be more pragmatic in search of religious meaning. ***** Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang bermuara pada digitalisasi di era Revolusi Industri 4.0 menuju Society 5.0 saat ini telah menggeser literatur keagamaan umat Islam Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji dampak digitalisasi di era post-truth terhadap prilaku umat Islam yang cenderung meninggalkan ulama dalam menyelesaikan masalah keagamaan yang dihadapinya. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini dikumpukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka yang berupa dokumen atau data online. Secara sosio-religius, penelitian ini menemukan tiga aspek penting yang menjadi sebab pergeseran  literatur keagamaan umat Islam Indonesia dari ulama ke media sosial. Pertama,  mudahnya akses internet dan media sosial yang mampu menjawab secara cepat dan efisen atas problem yang dihadapi oleh umat Islam sehari-hari. Kedua, meningkatnya geliat kagamaan masyarakat yang tidak dibarengi dengan pemahaman yang baik tentang literasi digital dalam bentuk media sosial. Ketiga, solusi atas problem keagamaan yang diperoleh umat Islam melalui media sosial bersifat instan sehingga mengakibatkan pemahaman masyarakat atas agama Islam menjadi tidak kompehensif dan lebih bersifat parsial. Digitalisasi telah menyebabkan umat Islam Isndonesia menjadi lebih pragmatis dalam mencari makna dan pesan keagamaan.
