Abstract

Mathematical reasoning ability is a very important aspect in learning mathematics. This ability is a high-level ability that involves imagination and curiosity to think logically. Mathematical reasoning can be sharpened using the Problem Based Learning learning model, so this research was conducted to analyze the mathematical reasoning abilities of students at SMP Negeri 5 Kisaran using a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects in this research were 32 students. The data used is written test results and observation results during the learning process which will then be analyzed using qualitative descriptive data analysis techniques including data reduction, data display and verification. The results of this research show that the mathematical reasoning ability of students in the high category is 8 people, 16 people are medium and 8 people are low, and the average value of the results of observations of mathematics learning activities in comparative material is 16.28125 with a percentage of 66.5%. which is included in the medium category. These results indicate that the reasoning abilities of students at SMP Negeri 5 Kisaran are in the medium category.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of Fun Books as a measuring tool to increase students' creativity at elementary school level in mathematics and language learning. This service is carried out with a focus on measuring students' creativity levels before and after implementing the Fun Book as well as evaluating how to stimulate students' creativity in both subjects. The target of the training is selected students, namely SD Negeri No. 010246 Banjar. The students selected were 16 Grade 2 students. The problem seen at this school is that students are still passive in learning, students are not yet creative and have difficulty answering questions asked by the teacher during each lesson in class, there are even 50% of students who are sleepy when taking part in class lessons. The impact of this training was that 13 students were able to use Fun Book media. Evaluation is carried out at the end of the training by distributing questionnaires to measure the participant's level of understanding. The questionnaire contains questions related to the respondent's identity; general questions related to mathematics and language learning and specific questions related to Fun Book media. The calculation of the questionnaire used the Guttman scale. The evaluation results showed that 89.84% had increased knowledge seen from the calculation of the questionnaire per individual and per question asked and the participation and enthusiasm of students during activities using the Fun Book.Keywords: Fun Book; creativity; student

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui serta menganalisis aspek kemampuan komunikasi siswa MTs Quran Kisaran pada materi segiempat. Sample yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah 30 orang siswa dari populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Quran Kisaran di ambil secara acak. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deksriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian adalah soal tes kemampuan komunikasi matematik berupa 3 butir soal essay serta Wawancara. Hasil tes yang telah dilaksanakan pada beberapa soal komunikasi matematik menunjukan hasil cukup baik . Terlihat dari presentase skor per butir soal yaitu soal no.1 diperoleh presentase 72,5% Untuk indikator dalam Menyatakan situasi atau ide-ide matematika ke dalam gambar. Soal no.2 dengan perolehan presentase 77,5% untuk indikator Menjelaskan secara tertulis gambar ke dalam ide-ide matematika dan Soal no.3 dengen perolehan presentase 53,33% untuk indikator Menjelaskan prosedur penyelesaian. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat kemampuan komunikasi siswa MTs Quran sudah cukup baik dan tergolong tinggi karena terdapat dua indikator soal dalam kategori tinggi > 66% .

Abstract

This study was made to find out how the process of completing student answers incompleting the problem-solving ability test through a problem-based learning model.The process of completing the answers to the mathematical problem solving ability test can be viewed from 2 (two) aspects, namely:1) the procedure used in solving the problem and, 2)the mistakes made by students in answering the questions/the problems.The population of this study were all third semester students majoring in informatics management at all STMIK in Medan and samples were taken at random and two STMIKs were selected with accreditations B and C. The type of this research was a qualitative descriptive analysis with the instrument was the test of problem solving abilities. This study gave the result that the problem solving process carried out by students through problem-based learning was better than conventional learning, the firs result is the number of students doing the test who obtained a "good" assessment category in the experimental class was more than the control class (Nexperiment = 67 > Ncontrol = 17 ). The second result is the test given as a whole it could be done well by students in accordance with the existing questions/problems, although some still forgot to check the answers. In addition, at every meeting there were group members who werenot active in discussing. They always busy with other things, it caused friends in one group to be disturbed.The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers who want to implement problem-based learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the results of increasing students' interest in learning mathematics on the material of building space by using the Problem Basset Learning (PBL) learning model. This research uses the method of classroom action research (PTK) or action research. According to Arikunto (2010: 1). Classroom action research is research that describes the cause-and-effect of treatment, as well as describes what happens when treatment is given, and describes the entire process from the beginning of the treatment to the impact of the treatment. The subjects used in this study were students of class VII-2 SMP N 5 Kisaran with a total of 32 students. The data in this study are test results and observation results. The results showed that using the PBL (Problem Based Learning) model can increase students' interest in learning mathematics on the material of building space. In cycle I consisting of 32 students, where 25 students (78%) in class VII-2 have increased students' interest in learning mathematics, while in cycle II with 29 students (91%) has greatly increased students' interest in learning while only 3 students (9%) still have not increased their interest in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil belajar yang merupakan perubahan yang sedang berlangsung pada diri seorang siswa setelah ia memperoleh pengalaman belajar. Pada artikel akan menjelaskan mengenai hasil dari penelitian dalam bentuk tindakan kelas yang tujuan dari penelitian ini dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran matematika. Subjek dari penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik yang berada dikelas IX-1. Pada penelitian ini tahapan yang dilakukan terdiri dari 2 siklus dengan dilakukan menjadi beberapa pertemuan pada setiap siklusnya dengan banyak pertemuan yang sama pada tiap siklusnya. Hasil dari penelitian yang dilakukan memperlihatkan adanya dampak dari diterapkannya model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berupa meningkatnya hasil belajar peserta diidk pada amteri SPLDV dikelas IX-1. Hasil dari tes yang dilakukan dalam mengetahui besarnya dari peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didk yaitu dari adanya hasil tes pratindakan hanya sebesar 19% menjadi 56% pada siklus I dan kembali mengalami peningkatan menjadi 88% pada siklus II yang mana telah mencapai yang sesuai dengan standar pencapaian. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini disarankan dapat menjadi landasan guru dalam memiliki model pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan dari kebutuhan peserta didik yang membantu peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran untuk menjadi lebih aktif dan dapat lebih kritis dalam menyelesaiakan permasalahan yang berkaitan dengan materi sehingga dapat diterapkan pada kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi bangun ruang. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas IX-2 SMP Negeri 2 Kisaran dengan jumlah 30 siswa selama dua siklus. Dengan setiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi.. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Peningkatan ini ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan skor tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dengan rata-rata meningkat dari 28 pada Prasiklus menjadi 59 pada siklus I, dan mencapai 81 pada siklus II. Selain peningkatan pemahaman konsep, siswa juga lebih aktif terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran, lebih mampu bekerja secara kolaboratif, dan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi bangun ruang.

Abstract

In the Pancasila Student Profile, creativity is defined as a student's ability to modify and create something that is original, meaningful, useful and has a positive impact. In developing student creativity, PKM was held to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students using ecoprint media based on the pounding technique. Dyeing using the ecoprint method based on the pounding technique is an environmentally friendly method, which uses natural ingredients to create patterns on the fabric. Ecoprint based on the pounding technique is a method of dyeing fabric that uses leaves, flowers and other parts of plants that are transferred to the surface of the fabric through a beating process. The aim of this community service is to develop student creativity, because creativity is one of the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile. The production process involves selecting tote bag materials from natural fabrics, such as calico, which are more effective in absorbing colors from plant materials. After that, fresh leaves and flowers are placed on the cloth, then beating and drying techniques are carried out to transfer the natural patterns of the plants to the surface of the cloth. In this study, various types of leaves were tested to determine the variation in pattern and color resistance produced. The results of the ecoprint making training which was carried out as a form of developing the creativity of students at SD Negeri 010246 Banjar.

Abstract

Abstract: This article discusses the introduction of local culture in mathematics learning,designed in the form of a scrapbook media, to enhance mathematical literacy skills of students at SLB Swasta Osakali, focusing on flat shapes material. The scrapbook media is designed to link the learning material with local cultural elements familiar to the students, aiming to strengthen mathematical literacy. This service is specifically conducted for students with hearing impairments to observe changes in mathematical literacy skills before and after the implementation of the scrapbook, as well as to evaluate its effectiveness in stimulating students' mathematical literacy. The method used in this activity is a training approach, which includes the dissemination of the material, demonstration of scrapbook media usage, and training skills to relate mathematical concepts to local culture. A quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest design is also applied to measure the improvement in students' mathematical literacy. The target group consists of 9 senior high school students with hearing impairments at SLB Swasta Osakali Asahan, assisted by class teachers as communication intermediaries. Evaluation is conducted at the end of the training by distributing questionnaires to assess participants' understanding of the material and the scrapbook media. The evaluation results show that all students demonstrated improved knowledge, both from individual questionnaire calculations and students' participation and enthusiasm during the scrapbook activity. Thus, the use of scrapbook media based on local culture can be an innovative strategy in inclusive education for children with special needs. Keywords: mathematical literacy; local culture; scrapbook media; inclusive education. Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas pengenalan budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran matematika yang dirancang dalam bentuk media scrapbook untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa di SLB Swasta Osakali, pada materi bangun datar. Media scrapbook ini dirancang untuk mengaitkan materi pembelajaran dengan elemen budaya lokal yang dikenal oleh siswa, guna memperkuat literasi matematika. Pengabdian ini difokuskan pada siswa penyandang tunarungu untuk menganalisis perubahan kemampuan literasi matematika sebelum dan sesudah penerapan scrapbook, serta mengevaluasi dampaknya. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan yang meliputi penyuluhan substansi materi, demonstrasi penggunaan media scrapbook, serta pelatihan keterampilan mengaitkan konsep matematika dengan budaya lokal. Pendekatan kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest juga diterapkan untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa. Target pelatihan adalah 9 siswa tunarungu tingkat SMA di SLB Swasta Osakali Asahan, yang didampingi oleh guru kelas sebagai perantara komunikasi. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner untuk mengukur pemahaman peserta terhadap materi dan media scrapbook. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan, dilihat dari skor kuesioner dan antusiasme siswa selama pelatihan. Dengan demikian, penggunaan media scrapbook berbasis budaya lokal dapat menjadi strategi inovatif dalam pendidikan inklusif untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus. Kata kunci: literasi matematika, budaya lokal, media scrapbook, pendidikan inklusif.

Abstract

The study aimed at finding out in dept about the interaction between Problem Posing model assisted with Autograph Software with the student’s gender to students' mathematical communication ability. This study used quantitative research with quasi experimental method. The approach used was a scientific one. The population of this study were all the Class X students of MAN Kisaran. The sample in this study were the students of class X-IPA1 and X-IPA-2 in MAN Kisaran of Asahan Regency. This study was conducted in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018. Data analysis was done by 2-way ANOVA test. Based on the statistical calculation, it can be concluded that the value of Fcount<Ftable is 0.778 <3.12. This shows that Fcount<Ftable(0.778 <3.12) is not significant so that it can be concluded that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected which means there is no interaction between learning with students’ gender. The finding of students’ actitivity aspects is based on direct observation. Female students are more active in learning but are weaker in reasoning, meanwhile Male ones are quick in reasoning but are less active in learning.
