Abstract

Penelitian kuasi-eksperimen ini bertujuan menguji perbedaan efektivitas model Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dan Pembelajaran Bersiklus dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dan penalaran matematis siswa. Melibatkan dua kelas eksperimen di SMP N 2 Kisaran (kelas VIII-4 dan VIII-5) yang dipilih melalui cluster random sampling, penelitian mengumpulkan data melalui instrumen tes yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok RME mencapai performa yang secara signifikan lebih tinggi dalam kedua kemampuan dibandingkan kelompok Pembelajaran Bersiklus, dengan selisih 9,5% pada komunikasi matematis (F=4.627, p=0.03) dan 9,0% pada penalaran matematis (F=15.31, p=0.00). Temuan kunci mengungkap bahwa sementara kemampuan awal matematis tidak berinteraksi dengan model pembelajaran dalam memengaruhi komunikasi, interaksi signifikan terdeteksi pada kemampuan penalaran matematis (F=16.54, p=0.00). Kesimpulannya, model RME terbukti lebih unggul dalam mengembangkan kedua kemampuan matematis tersebut, menegaskan pentingnya pemilihan model pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk mencapai hasil belajar yang optimal. This quasi-experimental study aims to examine the difference in effectiveness between the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) model and Cyclical Learning in improving students' mathematical communication and reasoning skills. Involving two experimental classes at SMP N 2 Kisaran (classes VIII-4 and VIII-5) selected through cluster random sampling, the study collected data through test instruments, which were then analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the RME group achieved significantly higher performance in both abilities compared to the Cyclical Learning group, with a difference of 9.5% in mathematical communication (F=4.627, p=0.03) and 9.0% in mathematical reasoning (F=15.31, p=0.00). Key findings revealed that while initial mathematical ability did not interact with the learning model in influencing communication, a significant interaction was detected in mathematical reasoning ability (F=16.54, p=0.00). In conclusion, the RME model proved to be superior in developing both mathematical abilities, emphasizing the importance of selecting an appropriate learning model to achieve optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek (Project Based Learning). Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas IX-3 pada SMP Negeri 2 Kisaran selama 2 siklus dengan menggunakan metode pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik setelah diterapkannya model Project Based Learning. Peningkatan ini ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan skor tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan rata-rata meningkat dari 30 pada Parsiklus menjadi 65 pada siklus I, dan mencapai 82 pada siklus II, serta pengamatan terhadap partisipasi aktif dan kemampuan analisis peserta didik selama kegiatan proyek. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Project Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' self-regulated learning in mathematics learning. The research was conducted using a qualitative-descriptive approach. The research subjects were 30 2nd grade students at State Elementary School No. 010246 Banjar. Data collection was carried out by administering questionnaires and interviews. The research results show that the average questionnaire result for nine SRL indicators is 70.33, which is included in good criteria. The lowest results are found in the indicator "diagnosing learning needs" and the indicator "self-concept" with a score of 60. The highest results are found in the indicators "learning initiative" and "utilizing and seeking relevant learning resources" with a score of 75. These results still require further research as well as efforts to increase students' SRL.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of Fun Books as a measuring tool to increase students' creativity at elementary school level in mathematics and language learning. This service is carried out with a focus on measuring students' creativity levels before and after implementing the Fun Book as well as evaluating how to stimulate students' creativity in both subjects. The target of the training is selected students, namely SD Negeri No. 010246 Banjar. The students selected were 16 Grade 2 students. The problem seen at this school is that students are still passive in learning, students are not yet creative and have difficulty answering questions asked by the teacher during each lesson in class, there are even 50% of students who are sleepy when taking part in class lessons. The impact of this training was that 13 students were able to use Fun Book media. Evaluation is carried out at the end of the training by distributing questionnaires to measure the participant's level of understanding. The questionnaire contains questions related to the respondent's identity; general questions related to mathematics and language learning and specific questions related to Fun Book media. The calculation of the questionnaire used the Guttman scale. The evaluation results showed that 89.84% had increased knowledge seen from the calculation of the questionnaire per individual and per question asked and the participation and enthusiasm of students during activities using the Fun Book.Keywords: Fun Book; creativity; student

Abstract

In-Service Teacher Professional Education is a program designed to improve the quality of teachers who are already in the office or are currently actively teaching. This program is carried out online, so this program also has several difficulties faced by students. This research was conducted at Asahan University to examine the difficulties of implementing lectures. Data was collected from 85 respondents. The main obstacles faced by students include internet network problems, technical obstacles, time constraints, difficulties in understanding the material, and adapting to change. The difficulties faced by PPG Daljab students require holistic attention from educational institutions. The government and educational institutions need to respond to these findings to ensure effective and inclusive learning in the context of PPG Daljab.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kemajuan belajar siswa dalam topik perbandingan menggunakan pendekatan Model Problem Based Learning di SMP Negeri 4 Kisaran. Salah satu tantangan dalam pengajaran perbandingan adalah kesulitan siswa dalam memahami konsep tersebut. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa. Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dipilih sebagai metode pembelajaran yang memfokuskan siswa pada pemecahan masalah nyata yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui observasi dan tes akhir yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam tentang kemajuan belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan dengan menggunakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dapat mempengaruhi kemajuan belajar dalam memahami materi perbandingan yang ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya nilai yang siginifikan pada tes akhir dikarenakan model ini melibatkan siswa dalam pemecahan masalah nyata dan relevan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan hasilnya siswa dapat lebih siap untuk menghadapi tantangan matematika yang kompleks dan memiliki kesiapan untuk menerapkan konsep matematika dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students at uptd sdn 014685 siumbut baru in solving fraction operation problems. The research subjects consisted of 16 students who were present during the activity. The instrument used consisted of three story-problem items that included various fraction operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). The results showed that most students experienced difficulties in determining the appropriate operation to use and in simplifying fractions. students also faced challenges in identifying important information in the story problems. Based on the analysis using polya’s problem-solving steps, the main difficulties occurred in the stages of understanding the problem and planning the solution. These findings indicate that students’ abilities in solving fraction operations are still categorized as low. this study recommends the use of visual media and contextual exercises to improve students’ understanding of fraction operation concepts. Keywords: Problem-Solving Ability, Fraction Operations, Elementary School Students Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas V-A UPTD SDN 014685 Siumbut Baru dalam menyelesaikan soal operasi hitung pecahan. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 16 siswa yang hadir pada saat pelaksanaan kegiatan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tiga soal cerita yang mencakup operasi pecahan (penjumlahan, pengurangan, perkalian, dan pembagian). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan operasi hitung yang tepat untuk menyderhanakan pecahan. Siswa juga mengalami hambatan dalam mengidentifikasi informasi penting pada soal cerita. Berdasarkan analisis menggunakan langkah pemecahan masalah menurut (Polya), kesulitan utama terjadi pada tahap memahami masalah dan merencanakan penyelesaian. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam melakukan operasi hitung pecahan masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan media visual serta latihan kontekstual untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep operasi pecahan. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe students' mathematical communication skills in solving comparison problems. A total of 32 sixth-grade students at AlWashliyah 80 Kisaran Private Elementary School were the subjects of this study. Data were collected by giving three essay questions focusing on comparison material. The results of the analysis showed that only a small percentage of students, namely 18.75%, had high mathematical communication skills. Another 25% were in the moderate category, while the majority of students, 56.25%, were classified as having low communication skills. Students in the high category were able to meet all the expected indicators, while students in the moderate category were only able to master two indicators. Students in the low category were generally only able to achieve one indicator. These findings confirm that mathematical communication skills play an important role in helping students understand problems and solve math questions more effectively.Keywords: Analysis; ability; mathematical communication; comparison.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal perbandingan. Sebanyak 32 siswa kelas VI di SD Swasta AlWashliyah 80 Kisaran menjadi subjek dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui pemberian tiga soal uraian yang berfokus pada materi perbandingan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hanya sebagian kecil siswa, yakni 18,75%, yang memiliki kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada kategori tinggi. Sebanyak 25% lainnya berada pada kategori sedang, sedangkan mayoritas siswa, yaitu 56,25%, tergolong memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang rendah. Siswa yang termasuk kategori tinggi mampu memenuhi seluruh indikator yang diharapkan, sementara siswa yang berada pada kategori sedang hanya dapat menguasai dua indikator. Adapun siswa dengan kategori rendah umumnya hanya mampu mencapai satu indikator saja. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis memegang peran penting dalam membantu siswa memahami persoalan dan menyelesaikan soal matematika secara lebih efektif.Kata kunci: Analisis; kemampuan; komunikasi matematis; perbandingan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the cognitive abilities of students in learning addition and subtraction operations with carrying and borrowing in Grade II at SD Negeri 010110 Ambalutu. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through tests on students abilities in performing addition and subtraction operations. The subjects of this study were Grade II students of SD Negeri 010110 Ambalutu, while the object of the research was the teaching and learning of addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing. The population of this study consisted of 26 students. The collected data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that students mastery of addition and subtraction operations with carrying and borrowing is uneven. Many students are not careful when counting objects in pictures. Some students do not pay sufficient attention to the images, resulting in counts that are either less or more than the actual number. Several students also make mistakes in writing the forms of addition or subtraction with carrying and borrowing. In addition, some students forget to write the carry-over number when the sum of the units exceeds 10. Overall, students cognitive abilities in solving addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing are in the fair category. The most common mistakes occur in questions that combine numbers and pictures, as students are not yet able to transform visual information into mathematical symbols. Therefore, the use of concrete media, routine practice, and a step-by-step approach is needed to help students improve their ability to perform structured arithmetic operations.

Abstract

The concept of fractions has a fairly broad scope of implementation in everyday life. This study aims to understand the understanding of the concept of fractions in grade 4 students of SD Negeri 010091 Kisarang Baru. Fraction material is one of the basic mathematics topics that often causes difficulties for students, because it involves understanding parts of a whole. The objects in this study were grade 4 students of SD Negeri 010091 Kisaran Baru. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach in data analysis. with written test instruments, observations, and in-depth interviews with 26 grade 4 students. The purpose of this study is to help grade 4 students overcome difficulties in understanding the concept of fractions in mathematics learning. Through interactive learning, it is hoped that the mathematics learning process can be improved.Keywords: Fractions; Learning; Understanding; Mathematics; Concepts.
