Abstract

SMAN 1 Durenan has a plan to organize the allocation of classes for new students using a system to achieve practical and efficient student grouping. The reason for implementing this class allocation system is SMAN 1 Durenan aims to create a new system to process student data for class allocation according to specific needs. This research involves the development of a Recommendation System for Clustering to Allocate Classes for New Students using the K-Means method. The system processes data of newly enrolled students at SMAN 1 Durenan based on specific attributes. The results of this student data processing serve as considerations and references for SMAN 1 Durenan to perform class allocation as needed. The analysis in this research utilizes the K-Means method to obtain data clusters that maximize the similarity of characteristics within each group and maximize the differences between the collections created. The developed recommendation system website provides information about the student data clustering results from the K-Means process at SMAN 1 Durenan.

Abstract

In the era of advanced education, assessing lecturer performance is crucial to maintaining educational quality. One aspect of this assessment involves evaluating the textbooks authored by lecturers. This study addresses the problem of efficiently detecting International Standard Book Numbers (ISBNs) within these textbooks using optical character recognition (OCR) as a potential solution. The objective is to determine the effectiveness of OCR, specifically the Tesseract platform, in facilitating ISBN detection to support lecturer performance assessments. The research method involves automated data collection and ISBN detection using Tesseract OCR on various sections of textbooks, including covers, tables of contents, and identity pages, across different file formats (JPG and PDF) and orientations. The study evaluates OCR performance concerning image quality, rotation, and file type. Results of this study indicate that Tesseract performs effectively on high-quality, low-noise JPG images, achieving an F1 score of 0.97 for JPG and 0.99 for PDF files. However, its performance decreases with rotated images and certain PDF conditions, highlighting specific limitations of OCR in ISBN detection. These findings suggest that OCR can be a valuable tool in enhancing lecturer performance assessments through efficient ISBN detection in textbooks.

Abstract

Sistem Pendukung Keputusan menggunakan metode Simple Multiple Attribute Rating Technique merupakan sistem pendukung keputusan yang digunakan dalam menentukan beberapa kriteria, dengan menentukan bobot dengan kriteria terpenting sampai dengan kriteria terendah, para pengambil keputusan dapat mengambil atau menyeleksi beberapa kriteria alternatif, dengan begitu metode Simple Multiple Attribute Rating Technique dapat membantu para pengambil keputusan dalam menyeleksi bebrapa kriteria alternatif. Implementasi Metode Simple Multiple Attribute Rating Technique banyak sekali digunakan dalam proses seleksi penerimaan mahasiswa, peserta didik, membeli produk, memilih barang dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

The thesis reports housed in the campus repository have yet to be analyzed to reveal valuable knowledge patterns. Analyzing trends in thesis research topics can facilitate the selection of research topics, aid in mapping research areas, and identify underexplored topics.Therefore, this research aims to model and classify thesis topics using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and the Naïve Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM) methods. This study employs the LDA method for thesis topic modeling, while SVM and Naïve Bayes are used for classifying these topics. The research results show that LDA successfully modeled five of the most popular thesis topics, namely two related to computer networks, two on software engineering, and one on multimedia. For thesis topic classification, the SVM method demonstrated higher accuracy than Naïve Bayes, reaching 92.80% after the data was balanced using Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE). The implication of this study is that the topic modeling approach using LDA is able to identify dominant thesis topics. In addition, the SVM classification results obtained better accuracy than Naïve Bayes in the thesis topic classification task.

Abstract

Cyber threats are becoming more widespread, notably those that use SSH to brute-force their way in or engage in Distributed Denial of Service attacks. These attacks can make networked systems very hard to reach, keep their data safe, and protect their privacy, especially for small and medium-sized organizations that can’t afford pricey professional security solutions. This research aims to develop an automated, cost-effective, and scalable cyber threat detection and response system for small and medium-sized organizations unable to afford commercial-grade security solutions. The methodology follows the structured Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, Optimize lifecycle, leveraging open-source technologies, primarily the Wazuh Security Information and Event Management platform, augmented with custom detection rules and a Random Forest-based classification module to distinguish Normal, Brute Force, and Distributed Denial of Service traffic patterns. Experimental results demonstrate a Mean Time to Detect of 4.7 seconds for Brute Force and 7.3 seconds for Distributed Denial of Service, with a Mean Time to Respond of 8.2 seconds and under 10 seconds, respectively. The system achieved 98.4% detection accuracy and a 1.5% false positive rate across 100 controlled tests using THC Hydra and slowhttptest. Integration of Wazuh dashboard analytics with real-time Telegram alerts enhances situational awareness and enables prompt, automated incident response, validating open-source frameworks as viable defenses in resource-constrained environments.

Abstract

Yayasan Pendidikan Daarul Faroh Solihin merupakan lembaga pendidikan nirlaba yang menyelenggarakan layanan PAUD, TK, TPA, dan TPQ bagi masyarakat dengan biaya terjangkau, namun menghadapi keterbatasan visibilitas digital yang berdampak pada rendahnya akses informasi terkait program pendidikan, kegiatan sekolah, dan pendaftaran peserta didik baru. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan mengembangkan website resmi sebagai sarana informasi dan media komunikasi yang lebih efektif antara yayasan dengan masyarakat. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu identifikasi kebutuhan sistem melalui wawancara dengan pengurus yayasan, perancangan dan pengembangan website menggunakan CMS WordPress yang dipilih karena kemudahan pengelolaan konten oleh pengguna non-teknis, serta penempatan website pada layanan komputasi awan (cloud computing) guna memastikan aksesibilitas yang stabil, aman, dan mudah dipelihara. Setelah pembangunan teknis selesai, dilakukan penyusunan konten awal yang mencakup profil yayasan, struktur organisasi, program pendidikan, galeri kegiatan, serta berita-berita terbaru yang relevan bagi orang tua dan masyarakat. Selain itu, diberikan pelatihan singkat kepada guru dan staf yayasan agar mampu mengelola dan memperbarui konten secara mandiri, sehingga keberlanjutan pemanfaatan website dapat terjaga. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa website yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan eksistensi daring yayasan, menyediakan pusat informasi yang terstruktur, serta memperluas jangkauan promosi dan komunikasi publik. Website ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sarana pendukung utama dalam peningkatan kualitas layanan pendidikan dan transparansi informasi di Yayasan Pendidikan Daarul Faroh Solihin.
