Abstract

The role of the banking sector in supporting a country's economy is crucial, particularly in facilitating the implementation of national development aimed at fostering economic growth and stability to improve the standard of living of the society. Therefore, this study aims to examine whether financial inclusion has an impact on the stability of Islamic banking in Indonesia, using the Generalized Least Squares (GLS) method. To obtain a clear and measurable understanding, this research employs a descriptive quantitative approach, supported by the GLS method, which addresses issues found in classical assumption testing. The analysis is conducted using Eviews 12 with panel time series data. To measure the financial stability of Islamic banking, financial inclusion is represented by MSMEs and Deposits, while stability is measured using the NPF (Non-Performing Financing) variable. The research findings are as follows: First, the independent variable MSMEs significantly affects NPF. Second, the independent variable Deposits also significantly affects NPF. Third, the F-test indicates that MSMEs and Deposits jointly influence NPF. Thus, financial inclusion has a significant impact on the stability of Islamic banking in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Islamic insurance industry continues to grow in response to increasing public awareness of finance based on Islamic principles. This study evaluates the service quality of the Sharia insurance provider AJB Bumiputera 1912, Medan Branch, using the Servqual method. Servqual assesses the gap between customer expectations and perceptions across five key dimensions: Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance, and Empathy. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 104 respondents. The analysis involved validity and reliability testing, followed by Servqual calculations. The results reveal that the overall service quality of AJB Bumiputera 1912 Medan Branch meets customer expectations, with an average positive gap of 1.6%. The Tangibles dimension yielded the highest satisfaction level, with a gap of 3%, while the remaining dimensions exhibited relatively minor discrepancies. These findings indicate that the branch provides a high standard of service, yet continuous improvement is essential to further narrow the gap between customer expectations and actual service delivery. Ongoing service quality evaluations are recommended to enhance the company’s competitive edge within the Sharia insurance sector

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Islamic-principle implementation in the Multi-Purpose Financing (PMG) product at Bank Sumut Syariah’s Marelan Raya sub-branch, focusing on Civil Servant (ASN) customers. Employing a qualitative case-study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with the branch head, analysis of internal policy documents, and a customer-satisfaction survey. Findings reveal that the murabahah contract, strictly supervised by the Sharia Supervisory Board and supported by internal audits and structured risk governance, achieves full compliance with the prohibitions of riba, gharar, and maysir; this is reflected in a low Non-Performing Financing (NPF) rate (≈1.8 %) and high customer satisfaction (75 % satisfied, 20 % moderately satisfied). Nevertheless, limited Islamic-finance literacy, perceptions of administrative bureaucracy, and competition from conventional products remain significant challenges. Intensive education, process digitalization, and competitive feature innovation are recommended to boost market penetration and strengthen customer trust. The findings affirm that Bank Sumut’s sharia PMG not only complies with Islamic principles but also delivers economic benefits and a sense of justice to the ASN segment.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of financial literacy and lifestyle on SPaylater repayment capacity among Generation Z residing in Medan. The research method used was an associative quantitative survey approach, involving 100 participants selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research findings indicate that financial literacy has a significant positive impact on respondents' capacity to fulfill SPaylater payment obligations. Furthermore, lifestyle also makes a significant positive contribution to this payment capacity. These two variables, both individually and collectively, have been shown to significantly contribute to explaining variations in Generation Z's ability to fulfill digital payment obligations. These findings emphasize the importance of improving financial literacy and adopting a better and wiser lifestyle so that the younger generation can better manage their finances in the face of the development of digital financial services such as SPaylater.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of muamalah understanding and heuristic attitude on sharia investment decision making among students of the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU). Muamalah understanding refers to the knowledge of Islamic rules governing economic transactions, including the prohibition of riba, gharar, and maisir. Meanwhile, heuristic attitude involves the use of rules of thumb that help simplify the decision-making process, especially in complex and uncertain situations. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach through a survey of 271 students selected using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a Google Form-based questionnaire and analysed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that both muamalah understanding and heuristic attitude have a significant positive influence on Islamic investment decision making. Simultaneously, these two variables explain about 67,0% of the variation in Islamic investment decision-making. A deep understanding of muamalah helps students in choosing investments that are in accordance with sharia principles, while heuristic attitude allows them to make decisions more quickly and efficiently even in conditions of limited information.

Facilities and service quality are important things that must be considered by companies engaged in services. The existence of good facilities and service quality in the minds of consumers will create a good image so that consumers become generous with the services provided by the company. This study aims to determine the effect of facilities and service quality on customer loyalty with satisfaction as a moderating variable (a case study in the Constitutional Court Digital Printing). This study uses a quantitative approach. The population of 2969 in this study were customers who had used the services of the Constitutional Court Digital Printing. The sample used was 97 respondents and questionnaires as a means of collecting data for respondents. The analytical method used in this research is validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) test. The results of this study indicate that facilities, and service quality have a significant influence on customer loyalty at MK Digital Printing and the effect is from Variable X1, namely facilities and customer satisfaction which have the effect of increasing the influence of facilities on customer loyalty. Thus, that the result of the satisfaction variable is a moderating variable or can be used as an independent variable as well as a moderator variable.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Financing to Deposit Ratio and Non-Performing Financing on Return on Assets with Capital Adequacy Ratio as Intervening Variables in Islamic Banking in Indonesia in 2017-2021. This study uses a quantitative approach method and uses secondary data, namely quarterly financial ratio reports of banks registered with OJK from 2017-2021. The analysis technique used is a partial test (t test), simultaneous test (F test), Coefficient of Determination test (R2 test) and path analysis test. The results of this study indicate (1) Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) has an effect on Return on Assets (ROA), (2) Non Performing Financing (NPF) has an effect on Return on Assets (ROA), (3) Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) ) has no effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) (4) Non Performing Financing (NPF) has an effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), (5) Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) can mediate the effect of Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) on Return On Assets (ROA), and (6) Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) cannot mediate the effect of Non Performing Financing (NPF) on Return On Assets (ROA).
