Abstract

This study evaluates the use of YouTube in learning biographical texts in class X of SMK Negeri 6 Semarang, focusing on its impact on student engagement and understanding. Educational videos from YouTube, combined with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, enhance students' active learning and critical thinking skills. This study applies a qualitative descriptive method to evaluate the use of the YouTube video "I Understand" in Indonesian learning at SMK N 6 Semarang. The goal is to understand the impact of the video on learning outcomes and teacher and student responses. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed in a qualitative descriptive manner. The findings of the study show that YouTube videos can increase student engagement in an interesting and interactive way in learning Indonesian. The results show that the integration of YouTube with the PBL model creates a more active and problem-based learning environment, as well as supports the development of students' critical and creative thinking skills. While this combination is effective in improving the ability to write biographical texts, challenges such as internet access and technical skills need to be addressed to maximize their benefits. Recommendations for further practice include the selection of high-quality videos and the integration of videos with interactive activities for optimal learning outcomes. Keywords: Kata Kunci : Media Youtube, Teks Biografi, Pemanfaatan

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of peer-Dynamic Assessment (peer-DA) on the development of interlanguage pragmatic (ILP) competence among Indonesian EFL learners. While pragmatic competence is crucial for appropriate language use, systematic assessment approaches remain limited in the Indonesian EFL context, particularly regarding the integration of instruction and assessment. Through a true experimental design, 43 upper-intermediate EFL learners were randomly assigned to experimental (n=22) and control (n=21) groups. The experimental group received peer-DA instruction emphasizing collaborative scaffolding and reciprocal mediation, while the control group received traditional non-DA instruction. Data collection utilized the Key English Test (KET) for homogenization and dual multiple-choice ILP assessments for pre-and post-testing. Statistical analysis through independent samples t-tests revealed no significant differences between groups in pre-test scores (t(35)=2.92, p>.05). However, post-test results demonstrated significantly higher ILP competence in the experimental group (M=14.79, SD=3.14) compared to the control group (M=8.11, SD=2.78; t(35)=4.47, p<.05). These findings suggest that peer-DA effectively enhances Indonesian EFL learners' pragmatic competence, offering valuable implications for integrating assessment and instruction in EFL pragmatic development.

Abstract

Guru Bahasa Indonesia SMA dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia yaitu guru masih kurang dapat memahami materi Bahasa Indonesia yang berkaitan dengan ilmu Sintaksis. Salah satunya mengenai struktur kalimat dan jenis kalimat. Dalam penempatan struktur kalimat masih dirasakan ada kesulitan. Hal itu membuat pemahaman guru berbeda dengan guru lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan guru dalam pengembangan buku Bahasa Indonesia SMA berbasis Sintaksis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian R&D dan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data penelitian adalah guru Bahasa Indonesia SMA Kota Semarang. Teknik pengambilan data dengan cara pendistribusian angket secara daring, wawancara, dan FGD daring kemudian dianalisis dengan mengguakan teknik analisis data kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian analisis kebutuhan awal ini diperoleh hasil bahwa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, ilmu Sintaksis masuk dalam pembahasan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia SMA. Kurikulum yang saat ini digunakan adalah kurikulum 2013 revisi. Dalam kurikulum ini pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia berbasis teks. Materi Bahasa Indonesia dalam beberapa teks pembelajaran terdapat pembahasan yang berkaitan dengan ilmu Sintaksis yaitu mengenai pembahasan kalimat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis representasi cinta dalam lima puisi Sapardi Djoko Damono, yaitu Mengalirlah Sungai, Angin Pagi, Dalam Doa, Sajak Cinta, dan Hawa Dingin, melalui pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi bagaimana tanda linguistik dan simbolik (diksi, citraan, gaya bahasa) membentuk makna cinta multidimensionalasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa setiap puisi menggunakan tiga jenis tanda menurut Peirce: ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Ketiganya digunakan untuk mengekspresikan cinta tidak hanya sebagai perasaan romantis, tetapi juga sebagai nilai spiritual, ekologis, dan kemanusiaan. Temuan ini di dukung teori Erich Fromm tentang cinta sebagai seni hidup, mencukup kasih terhadap sesama alam, dan Tuhan.  Melalui diksi yang halus, citraan alam, dan perangkat stilistika, puisi-puisi Sapardi menyajikan cinta sebagai pengalaman universal yang multidimensional. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap kajian semiotika sastra dengan membuktikan efektivitas kerangka Peirce dalam mengungkap makna yang mendalam dalam puisi Indonesia, puisi tidak hanya dipelajari sebagai karya sastra, tetapi juga sebagai media pembelajaran bahasa yang efektif untuk menumbuhkan kepekaan berbahasa, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan keterampilan mengekspresikan perasaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menafsirkan nilai-nilai religius dalam cerpen A.A. Navis “Robohnya Surau Kami” melalui pendekatan hermeneutika religius sastra. Metode yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif-kualitatif dengan tiga tahap hermeneutiK prapemahaman, interpretasi, dan fusi horizon melalui pembacaan mendalam teks utama serta triangulasi sumber pustaka mutakhir. Hasil analisis mengidentifikasi enam kutipan kunci yang menonjolkan ketimpangan antara ritual keagamaan dan tanggung jawab sosial. Tokoh kakek digambarkan sangat tekun beribadah, tetapi dihakimi sia-sia karena mengabaikan keluarga dan keadilan sosial. Oleh karena itu, Navis mengkritik religiositas yang hanya berorientasi vertikal sekaligus menegaskan pentingnya dimensi horizontal kemanusiaan. Kajian ini memperluas studi sastra religius dengan menekankan konsekuensi etis daripada sekadar doktrin, sekaligus menyoroti potensi karya sastra Indonesia sebagai media kritik sosial-keagamaan. Implikasi pedagogisnya, yakni analisis teks yang hendaknya disertai refleksi praksis moral agar pembaca memahami urgensi menyeimbangkan kesalehan individual dengan aksi sosial transformatif

Abstract

The background of this research is to describe the structure and linguistic elements of the descriptive text correctly and well in the structure of the descriptive text in the application of the Guessing Game method to seventh grade students of junior high school. Therefore, with this research to discuss the structure and linguistic elements of the descriptive text by collecting data in the research. The formulation of the problem in this research is how to use the structure and linguistic elements of the descriptive text used by class VII students of junior high school? The purpose of this study is to describe the structure and linguistic elements of the descriptive text that has been used by students of class VII SMP properly and correctly so that students are able to write descriptive text. The data collection method in this study is to use a qualitative descriptive method. The technique for presenting the results of the data in this study is descriptive analysis. Based on this research, the results of the analysis can be concluded that in writing descriptive text, class VII SMP students have used the structure and linguistic elements of the descriptive text correctly.

Abstract

Journalistic knowledge serves as a robust underpinning upon which learners can refine and enhance their writing abilities, specifically in the domain of news composition. The multifaceted landscape of journalism incorporates a medley of elements that collectively contribute to the cultivation of effective writing skills. The mastery of these facets plays a pivotal role in augmenting students' proficiency in articulating their ideas cogently, engaging their audience adeptly, and ensuring the meticulous conveyance of information. Against this backdrop, the present study endeavors to explore the substantive role played by journalistic knowledge in improving students' skills in writing news. To attain the research aim, the researchers applied a correlational study to find out the correlation between journalistic knowledge and students’ skills in writing news. The participants of the study consisted of 51 students of Indonesian language and literary education at the University of PGRI Semarang. The sample was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The data were collected using tests. Based on the data analysis, there is a correlation between journalistic knowledge and students’ skills in writing news. It means that the components of journalistic knowledge such as understanding the fundamental news values such as timeliness, prominence, proximity, conflict, and human interest, have contributed to helping students in writing news.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan wujud majas sindiran dalam tulisan bak truk di jalan Semarang—Jepara tahun 2021. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan metode dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan interactive model, meliputi: (1) reduksi data; (2) penyajian data; dan (3) verifikasi data. Hasil akhir menyatakan bahwa kelima wujud majas sindiran telah terpenuhi dengan baik. Adapun wujud majas sindiran yang ditemukan yakni majas ironi, sarkasme, sinisme, satire, dan innuendo.ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to describe the form of satire figure of speech in writing like a truck on the Semarang-Jepara road in 2021. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques using interactive models, including: (1) data reduction; (2) data presentation; and (3) data verification. The final result states that the five forms of satire figure of speech have been well fulfilled. The forms of satire figure of speech found are irony, sarcasm, cynicism, satire, and innuendo.
